This is the WORST doctors experience I've EVER had in my entire life!!!!!!!
I went to the ER on Thursday, June 11th. I saw two doctors who believed I fractured my kneecap. They told me I needed an MRI but in order to get one I had to go to a family doctor to get the referral for the MRI. Simple, right? Long story short, my insurance sent me to Dr. Hopper. I had an 11 AM appointment with Dr. Hopper. I waited in the waiting room for over two hours!!!! Then, I waited another hour to speak with Dr. Hopper. (It's also upsetting no gave me an ice pack for my hugely swollen knee). He really didn't do anything to tell me what was wrong with my knee since I needed the MRI. His only purpose was to give me the referral. I still don't understand why it took three hours to get a simple referral.
But the problem is not Dr. Hopper. The problem is his reception desk. Specifically, the main receptionist. She seemed like a very nice lady who actually cared about my condition. She even helped me to the door since I was in crutches- very nice of her. She told me she would process the referral as "URGENT" and I should hear back from my insurance that it's approved by Monday 6/15 or Tuesday 6/16 at the LATEST.
Monday- nothing. Tuesday- nothing. On Tuesday, June 16th, I called my insurance to ask what the holdup was. They looked into my case and realized the problem was on Dr. Hopper's end. The receptionist did not mark my referral as "urgent" like she said she would, but as "STANDARD" which would take 7 to 10 days to process!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How would you like to have a possibly fractured kneecap and your doctors office actions show they do not care? Or worse, even remember to make you a priority?
I called Dr. Hopper's office and that receptionist answered the phone. I told her what happened and that I needed it to be processed immediately. She said she was "busy" and would do it and call me back in "30 minutes". Two hours go by I still did not hear from her. I called again and she did not do it. She said she was "busy". Again, she told me she would call in "30 minutes". I hung up and then realized that she SHOULD be "busy" with my case since I had been waiting FOUR days to receive something that should have been SAME DAY!!!!! I called her back and said, "no you have to do it now". She said she did, she sounded very childish on the phone and that was the moment I realized this office has no business even being open & that woman should never have a job that requires people's health.
Once, she marked a simple "urgent" to my referral, it was processed within "30 MINUTES"!!! Wish she did that in the first place!!!!
I was able to get my MRI right away. However, they sent the results to Dr. Hopper's office. I should have received my MRI results by yesterday Friday, June 19th. I never heard from Dr. Hopper. I called the office at 3:30 pm. The receptionist (same one as always) answered to say that the doctor has not even looked at it. But she will call back with the results in 30 minutes. SURPRISE- SHE NEVER DID!!!!!!!! I called back and only got the answering service.
Now it is Saturday, June 20th- a full NINE DAYS of dealing with their crap & STILL NO ANSWER!!!!!!! Because of course they are CLOSED for the weekend (by the way Dr. Hopper's office- please state your office hours over the phone or post your office hours easily for someone to find them! I had to search multiple sites for your hours- it should NOT be that way.) However, there is an option for a patient with an urgent matter to leave a message and you are promised to hear back within "30 minutes" from that woman. Lady, if you say you're going to do something- DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been calling and leaving urgent messages with Dr. Hopper and of course I have not heard a single thing. YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS!!! read more
