All of the teachers and staff know my children and go out of their way to show them Christ's love. I feel comfortable talking with any of the teachers when I have concerns. I always walk away feeling as if I was heard and my concerns were validated. My kids are excited to go to school every single day! He was home with me for a year and a half before he went to daycare to help with socialization. Theresa was helpful and responsive in the enrollment process. We went and visited for an hour one morning before he started, and had the option of doing a second visit if it made us feel more comfortable. I loved being able to see what his morning would be like! His teacher, Jena, is AMAZING. She is always so communicative, and very understanding and reassuring when he has a hard time saying goodbye to us in the morning. The toddler room shares a half wall with the infant room and the infant lead, Kathy, is so sweet with him too. We love the assistants as well! We drive 15 min to get here (passing numerous daycares along the way) because I trust them and feel their care is above and beyond.

We never felt that our son was not getting the care that he needed and will be forever grateful for Sister Anna, Miss Darcy, Miss Kita, and Miss Amy (the director) especially. Multiple other teachers knew his name when we would leave for the day even though they were in charge of other age groups. It's a very welcoming place and we would recommend it to other families looking for care. On a side note they are updating the playground area that I see the older age groups playing on every morning and afternoon when we get our son.

The teachers are most likely paid half of what they should and put an amazing amount of effort into creating non-traditional curriculum that excites the kids. My 3rd grader is going on over 30 field trips this year and he has been on an over night camping trip that changed his life. He is learning so much and doesn't feel like he's on the receiving end of any academic pressure. The teachers are literally education ninjas. Will and Matt we love you so much!! Great facilities and equipment including outdoor gear and a second campus at the LaBarque conservation area. The adventure education experiences give students an unmatched sense of accomplishment in overcoming challenges of the outdoor, "real world" classroom. This prepared my kids to be leaders and face future challenges, both in education and in life, in a way that is just not possible with only teaching in the classroom. The outdoor classroom concept does amazing things. We love TCS!

I got on the list in May looking for a January spot and there wasn't an opening until April. I took it and luckily someone dropped out and I was able to get their spot for January. They also make you pay $100/month to stay on the waitlist but it goes towards your tuition when you start. The building is secure they buzz you in and out. The staff is incredibly friendly my daughter interacts positively towards each of her teachers. They have made me feel at home and at ease leaving my baby in their care. They also have an app that keeps you updated throughout the day and they will send you a selfie! I'm not going to lie and say this is an affordable daycare it's definitely not. However I feel the price is worth it for the education and piece of mind!

We needed a child care option on short notice and chose this school because of a recommendation from a friend, the Spanish classes and the affordable tuition and ended up being so thrilled with our choice that we drove him 40 minutes each way for his final year of preschool after we moved to Illinois. Our last year at the school was with Mrs. Stacy and she is by far the best teacher we could have ever imagined. Each morning she personally greets each of the children like they really matter, takes an interest in their interests, engages them, keeps a stable routine and is patient. Entering kindergarten, my son knows all of the letters and sounds, recognizes numbers, can count to 1000, can write all of the letters, writes his name, can read about 500 sight words, can sound out many words that he doesn't know from sight, knows Spanish color words and number words and so much more! We were not members of the church, but that did not change the way they treated our son in their care. I can't say enough great things about TGCA preschool!

My daughter started attending Step Ahead towards the end of August 2021 (She had just turned 2 in…read moreJuly). Within a week, they asked First Steps to come evaluate her for therapies since she was not talking or understanding direction - which was a blessing as First Steps has been the best thing for her. She began receiving therapy services at daycare from First Steps in September 2021. In October 2021, my daughter was diagnosed with autism by her neurologist. I gave the diagnosis letter to her teachers the next day she attended. I received a phone call from one of the directors at noon that same day stating that I needed to find another facility for Evangeline because she stresses her teachers out. I immediately called her therapists crying because not only did I just find out that my daughter was on the spectrum, but she was already being treated poorly because of it. Her therapists gave me a resource to send to the daycare that could offer additional support to not only Evangeline, but other children in the facility. I sent this information via e-mail to the director and called back to notify them of it. No response about the e-mail I sent and the resource was not used to my knowledge. A couple days later, the other director called me to back-pedal for the first director and ended up just repeating/agreeing with what was said Monday. More stress added onto me that I did not need. Mind you - my daughter is very sweet. She is not aggressive; she does not harm others or herself. She is non-verbal and throws tantrums (like most toddlers) when she can't understand or communicate her needs. Since the daycare could not legally kick her out, I did not remove her from their care. Since this initial discussion with the two directors, any time I had to call them about something, they would bring up her needing to go somewhere else. I started looking around for daycares that could support ASD children but they all had long waiting lists that would take months to consider her. Fast forward to the end of Spring 2022 - Step Ahead is sending home summer activity permission slips and sending out mass messages asking parents to fill them out so children can participate. We did not receive one so I messaged them about it. They called me and once again stated she was better going somewhere else. She would be turning 3 in July and they did not know which 3 year old group they would place her with because both groups are in rooms without doors. They were worried that she would wander out of the area because of this (as would most 3 year olds?). I was then told to be prepared for it to not work out. This caused me extreme grief and I decided when she turned 3, that I would have to remove her from their facility until she started Pre-school in August. Long story short - while this facility is great for neuro-typical children, it is a terrible facility for neuro-diverse children. The lack of communication regarding their inability to care for her until after her diagnosis is discriminatory and the fact that I was continuously asked to find her somewhere else to go has caused me a great deal of unnecessary stress. I will say - two of her teachers have been a saving grace for us. My daughter ADORES Ms. Taylor and Ms. DeeDee. We probably wouldn't have lasted as long as we did if they were not there. But I think if this facility plans on continuing services, they should provide teachers training to support children with needs.

The baby to staff ratio is about 2:1, which makes personal attention super easy. Every time I come to pick her up a staff member is talking to her or cuddling my baby. It feels great to know that she is in loving hands when I'm away. I would highly recommend this center based on our experience with the staff in the infant room and the owner.
