Even argued racial discrimination regarding the appraisal and it fell at the waste side. Appraisers are bound by the Fair Housing Act of 1968 to not discriminate based on race, religion, national origin, or gender. Appraisals, by nature, are subjective in nature. As a result, it is extremely difficult to pinpoint the micro aggressions and subconscious biases that exist in the discrimination regarding appraisals. I am left wondering whether or not things could have been different if I had a white neighbor/ friend stand in for me.
