That one experience told me everything I needed to know--this was the church for me. Their "come as you are" and "all are welcome" message isn't just something they say--it's something they live. Let me start by saying I'm 62 years old. I've always considered myself spiritual, but not necessarily religious. Maybe it has something to do with the 12 years I spent in Catholic school. Faith has always been important to me, but I never quite found a church community that felt like home--until now. A few things immediately put me at ease and made me realize this was the church family I'd been searching for. Pastor Rebecca shared openly about her struggles with faith--how she questioned it many times over the years. That honesty made me feel seen and reminded me it's okay to wrestle with doubt. In later services, she continued to speak vulnerably about her faith, her family, and even her own challenges. She's real, and that means everything. Every time Pastor Rebecca speaks, I feel like I'm learning something. She breaks things down in a way that's approachable--combining scripture, educational insight, humor, and vulnerability. She doesn't preach at us--she invites us into the message. Pastor Connie is the real deal too. She's not overly polished or rehearsed, and her messages always give me something to reflect on. She shares from her own life experiences, which makes her so approachable and genuine. She's encouraged us to listen for God, to be patient, to trust that prayers will be answered in His time. Most of all, she reminds us that God is in our corner--not judging us, but loving us and lifting us up. She's also spoken about the fears we all carry--not just for ourselves, but for the marginalized and vulnerable in today's world. She doesn't shy away from tough topics but meets them with compassion and truth. There was a time when I walked out of a Christmas service at another church feeling completely discouraged. The head pastor told the congregation that some of us weren't going to make it--and I left that day wondering if I'd ever find a church that inspired me to do good, to be good, and to believe that God truly wants us to succeed. A place where Jesus is more than a symbol--He's a friend, a brother, an example to live by. And I'm happy to say I've finally found that place. Rock Church has become the spiritual home I didn't even realize I was searching for. I'll be honest--they encourage us to participate and get involved, and I haven't quite stepped into that yet. For now, I've been watching from afar, soaking it all in. But something in me knows... I won't be sitting on the sidelines forever. And I haven't even mentioned the worship team--amazing! The music is so moving, and sometimes Pastor Connie or Pastor Rebecca are right up there, singing or playing guitar. It's not a performance--it's worship. I can truly feel the Holy Spirit through the songs, and there have been moments when I've been brought to tears. So, if you're someone still searching for a place where you're accepted as you are... a place that feeds both your heart and your mind... a place where faith is real, honest, and alive--this might be that place for you too.

I tried to be of service too but didn't end up getting a job there . I ran into hardship eventually and we ended up not pre paying for day care at some point and was told we needed to leave work and come get the children. I believe we were 50 bucks behind . This is when the church went completely sideways, I would get calls almost daily asking for the 50 dollars , I had pulled the kids out of day care completely and found other means , at the time we started even using the food pantry because we were struggling so bad , Andy was head of music , he would give me a reminder every Sunday of what I owed too , even when I showed up to pick up food from the food pantry, I can't remember if it was Andy's wife , I think it was , I'm not certain but a lady literally made us feel so terrible for being so broke , I have never had a church make me feel so ashamed for not paying them money ( 50 bucks sadly ). I even asked if they could just help me with it or hold off until I get back on track . But they never let me live it down . It seems so petty . I know, it's been over 6 yrs now and I'm doin really great today , thank the good lord and I'm currently looking for a church again , I have not been back to a church since then . I really wanted to share this experience because it truly hurt my heart . I hope they are not this way still but it really felt like they all were clicked up with each other and had no problem shaming you tell you leave . They continued calling for a good long time too . It was a very sad story all the way around . All over 50 dollars, I'll never understand.

My family and I have been members of Granite Hills Baptist Church since at least 2014…read more We actually drive about thirty minutes to get to church from our home. When we were looking for a new church, we tried several (a few within five minutes from home). None of them compared at all. We desire a church that keeps the Bible as the main authority (not focused just on making people feel good... telling the truth and not focused on keeping people "entertained"), has a strong Sunday School program and youth program (there is also a wonderful Children's Program, but that no longer applies to my family's needs), and most of all it is a place where you can feel the presence and true worship happens. This is the church for us! I also remembered from my time working at the Nevada Baptist Convention from January 2001 to March 2006 how impressed I was with this church overall. Always extremely mission-minded, great Sunday School program, amazing preaching (by our current pastor and his predecessor), and truly Family! That was why it was on my list of churches to check out when the time came. The first day we visited, it was obvious to my husband, teen son, and me that this was our new home! All of our sermons, discipleship training, Sunday School lessons, etc are extremely Biblical. It's not all frou-frou like some can be these days. What the Bible says is the main focus, which it should be. There is a more contemporary service at 8am on Sundays and a more traditional service at 11am with Sunday School in between. Both have the same sermon, just different music. By the way, even though the focus is definitely not on being "entertaining", it is really good! The contemporary praise team is extremely talented and you definitely should hear our main pianist during our other service. Truly amazing. We have been steadily growing for years (long before I attended... see above). Proof of that can be seen by our mission churches we help support and have even sent pastors from our church to lead them, all the mission trips members have been going on, getting a second pastor a while back, as well as our somewhat recently building expansion of the church that is going to be totally paid off in a few months! Almost debt free again. We're also looking forward to our next addition in the future. If this sounds like a place you could call home, please join us.

The disgusting part, even predatory, was when the pastor said to me "I know you don't have much family left, and now you won't have your church family either". How disgusting to manipulate someone and coerce them to agree to any terms just to keep their friends, that is pretty low.

This church has a mix of every kind of person (it's not one of those churches where everyone feels…read moreand looks the same). I appreciate that there's no interactions that can feel pressuring (they don't ask everyone to shake hands-- though they do provide for organic mingling before and after service since they serve coffee and snacks with plenty of little areas to sit-- they don't pass a plate for collecting tithes, they don't pressure you into serving once you're established, etc.). Don't let the warehouse-like appearance on the outside fool you, they do have a children's ministry (it's upstairs) and it's growing-- though there are quite a few kids given the current size of the congregation. The current congregation seems to be quite active compared to other churches I've been a part of over the years; the percentage of people serving and attending community groups (fellowship based Bible studies) is quite impressive. Once you get to know people you can genuinely feel how they care about you and others (and that's saying something because there are a number of introverts here! haha). Finally, the pastors here don't stray from the word. They teach book by book and don't dance around or omit any "uncomfortable" topics. They also acknowledge "open handed positions" (you know, the kinds of things that are grey areas where one has to go with their convictions when the Bible doesn't address it).

They help with fresh fruits, vegetables, and canned goods to feed our needy families who are in need in our area. With personal hygiene items. Baby goods too. It they have it ask they will give it too you. They patiently help coordinate these weekly events with families that line up into two lines with their cars. Take your information so they can keep track of the families receiving help. To be able to support their programs. Processing everyone through the system in a quick efficient way. Always smiling, with happiness in their heart and their polite professional way they fill our vehicles with bags of great stuff. We get gorgeous flowers when they have them. Always with most tack fullnesses which sometimes it requires when with the longest of lines and when some people that aren't so corporative gather with their cutting in line. Sometimes making things harder then they should be. This team of volunteers always step up with class, staying calm, and that they will get this and any situation dealt with stress free. Their tack fullness helping everyone there as they always do in the same time same day every week. Many thanks to you guys for everything you have done. Stay safe. Great work. Choir was about 20 people, almost outnumbered the congregation, sang well and had nice red and gold robes. But sorry, the rest of it did not inspire me to worship God.
