We've been going here for about four years, now, and we love it! The coffee is fantastic, the pastor and band are great! Pastor Mike: He's so funny and doesn't have a holier-than-thou complex some pastors seem to have. He teaches things that people really need to hear, regardless of wether they want to or not. The Band: They're fantastic! Sam, Sanè, DZ and one drummer who's name we don't know... (stands during I Will Live and we love it!)(If anyone knows his name, that'd be great!) The Coffee: Great prices, great drinks! The staff are so patient and kind! They go through the line like Chick-fil-A: quick and kind. If you need a church that loves you no matter where you are, you're in luck! That's literally the motto! "Love people where they are and encourage them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ" It was hard moving half way across the country but this church has made it a lot easier. My fiancé and I have been looking for a church home for a few months now and I think we have found the perfect place. So many mega churches in the RDU area loose that personal effect with connecting with visitors and new members. We are looking for a diverse church were the word is preached, great praise and worship and somewhere we can feel at home. So far we have visited this church twice and we are enjoying the sermons and the many ministries the church offers the community and in other countries. I'm hoping to visit the Raleigh campus soon. I love the LOOP, it's a series of real life testimonies from people that overcame hardships in their life. So many touching stories of people that kept their faith and were inspired to keep fighting thanks to this ministry. The Pastor is true man of God and we looking forward to visiting more in the coming months! read more

We love Hope! My husband and I have been attending for a year now and get something out of each message! Even though it is a large church with multiple campuses their emphasis and encouragement to join small groups makes it feel much smaller. Every staff member I have met is genuine and really lives the mission to meet people where they are. We are thankful to have found our Hope family. read more

Great place for business meetups. The coffee bar uses quality ingredients and is much cheaper than Starbucks. There is plenty of seating including table tops and sofas with free WiFi. Always a friendly atmosphere and they support people coming into their building and using it as a meeting point. read more

I have been going to this church for years. Their kids club is fantastic, dress code is casual, people are friendly and the music is wonderful. I was devastated to learn (I tried to brush off several clues to this in the past) that this is a R wing church. Please be prepared for this. Multiple messages on women being second class citizens (if even that). Tonight, the pastors message ended with the sins of women. And how God would not tolerate it. This started as a message on how America has become too lax on what is considered a sin. I honestly thought for a minute he was talking about the normalization of hate speech, racism, anti semitism, kids in cages, etc. But no, his message was about the evils of a women's right to choose. This is just my opinion. To add, the "worship" song they started with tonight was "Born in the USA". I'm sure that's just a coincidence and not anti immigrant, right? read more

It makes me sad to write this but after a year of attendance I want others with similar experiences to know that they are not alone When you first attend Hope Community church the Razzle Dazzle of the media presentation at the beginning of the service makes one think they have finally found the Promised Land of Churches . Interesting people with interesting Life Stories tell about the tremendous impact Hope has had on their lives . I was hopeful at first but curious- wondering how such a huge church could be personable. But the media presentations promise just that --attend a small group and your needs will be met in wonderful fellowship . That has not been my family's experience. They do have success stories touted each Sunday during the Media presentations but I am at a loss as to how one finds those results despite a diligent effort to do so by attending classes , going to a Small group and reaching out to the correct Pastors . (The pastor who truly seems to have a Pastoral Spirit --Donnie from Canada --- has just been promoted so he will no longer be responsible for the Raleigh campus. I fear that the one person who's seemed genuinely caring about our needs now no longer has the pastoral duty to be there for members. He is being given more free time study so he can take over some of Pastor Mike's teaching duties ) . Our saddest experience was the Sunday we were told that if we needed prayer to stay in our seats and someone in leadership would pray for the people who stayed after the service . NO ONE prayed with us . As far as I could see in that large room we were the only people who stayed for prayer and there was NO ONE looking to see who stayed . As usual the pastors all went outside to meet and greet . We finally reached out to a poor usher who seemed just shocked that anyone would ask him to pray with them: he ran to ask someone what to do . As we were leaving we did find another woman who wanted prayer and we prayed for her ..... Recently we needed help when the adults in the family were both ill . Asking for some minor assistance with getting meals from our small group did not work out ......we offered to pay if we could just have some help getting the meals . Our small group ......well . Just lets say my " lost " neighbors were more helpful . My overall impression after a year is that Pastor Mike is a gifted teacher and if all you need is good preaching and your life is fairly on kilter this will be a great place to attend . If your life has met one of those huge roadblocks that practicing Christians have been told to expect in this World I hope you have a better experience that we have had . ( And please note . This has nothing to do with financial needs. Our needs were for someone to come alongside us and be there in fellowship and prayer.We were not asking for any financial help --just the fellowship one hopes such a devoted body of believers could provide .) Then bottom line is we live in an affluent area with many people having successful careers . Many churches able to cater to those successful people looking for meaning in their lives have sprung up over the years with non -traditional approaches to spreading the Gospel. I have seen a few prosper and sadly many fail once their charismatic leader retires. Hope seems to be a place trying to prepare for Pastor Mike's leaving when and if that should occur . They are doing many things well . I just wish they were more concerned with their own " lost " sheep that with all the overseas missions and projects that fill the over-head screens each Sunday read more

I have only been here a year and love it! It can be overwhelming and hard to meet new people in such a big church, but that's why they encourage people to get connected with a small group. I really like my small group. There are also age-specific groups that people can join to meet others their age. I wish I found that out sooner. The worship is also awesome and Pastor Mike tells it as it is but doesn't sugarcoat the gospel truth. The Sunday at 5 service is catered more towards college students and young adults. Their children's ministry is also awesome. My church in Chapel Hill remodeled their children's ministry after Hope's and I've been serving there as well and love it! read more

We've been attending hope for a little over 2 years and LOVE it! The church is so welcoming and inviting to any and everyone- even the mission statement proves that "love people where they are..". Our kids love Kid City as well as Kid City live. There are tons of area pastors to connect with as well as many small groups to join for a more one-on-one experience! read more

I have been going to hope church for 7 weeks now. My only complaint is that I feel everyone should be seated before the service starts. It is very distracting when people are coming in with starbucks cups after the service has started and trying to find a seat. I love listening to the sermons and pastor Mike is awesome. read more

This is a very large church so I volunteer every other week and take part in small group to have the personal relationships. The whole thing is organized incredibly well, from parking to childrens church to volunteering. The main pastor Mike has a delivery that is relevant and straightforward. I love the message and when I can't be at church I listen to the podcast. There are other 'sister' locations where the same message is streamed so people in different parts of town can find a church nearby. read more

I became involved with Hope Community Church 2 years ago. I am a single adult, who attended another large church in the area that placed no value on the single members of it's congregation, though there were many. Hope Community has a large diverse group of singles. There are various activities for varied ages and stages of life and weekly Bible study class called the Bridge. Though the church is large and classified as a "mega church", I have made many wonderful friendships and spiritual connections throughout the fellowship of the singles there. read more
