I went to this church late December and chose to get baptized for the first time here in February. Not only did they ask for tithes before the baptism, but the only thing they spoke about was the new building. The baptisms themselves were very rushed. No names were called and we went in and out after the other so quickly even though there were only 6 of us. After getting out the water, people were so close to the stage to take photos that I could barely get through and had to duck down to even get back outside to dry myself off. There was no order when it was supposed to be a sacred event. The most alarming part is that when we did sit down and worship stopped, there was no sermon. The online pastor came out, cried in thankfulness for the church's anniversary and then the service ceased. I brought a few of my family who were unbelievers in hopes they'd hear a bit of God's word through the sermon. I was incredibly disappointed. In addition before sending us our photos, they made montages of our baptisms and posted them on social media (next day). Whereas they sent our actual photo 1.5-2 weeks later. Felt very commercialized. Even the young adults night I went to recently at the new building felt very cliquey. Outside of one sweet man, the welcome team only spoke (within a 25 minute period) to ask me to scan a QR code to ask for my information and spoke amongst themselves. The event said it started at 7pm, but the sanctuary was closed even after 7:25pm before I left. Very sad that this could deter new believers and media and money seems to have been placed above a church that's supposed to worship and create disciples first!

Service starts with a prayer then a few songs- words are up on a screen. (Careful if you sit near the front- it is really load- I have to cover my ears) My husband and I really enjoy Pastor Brian's sermon- very engaging and memorable. I say it is like an advanced bible study. Their motto Grow, Serve and Grow. Flavored coffee in the lobby, and lots of classes and child care available.

Both of these churches are an outgrowth of Blue Sky Church in Bellevue, Washington. Walking in the door, everything seems perfect. Nicely dressed people, a talented worship team, a young, charming preacher. If you have studied any christian history, you'll quickly figure out they are Calvinist, and words like "elect" and "pre-destined" will be heard in the message. Outward appearance seemed to be really important to members here. People were sharp dressed, women in makeup and perfect hair. Everyone looked similar: no worn clothes, no one rough around the edges, no biker t-shirts, no tattoos, no nose rings. For a full building, it was odd at the absence of non-white people or older people. It didn't dawn on me until later that it was basically a middle class club for white college graduates. We left feeling like we had visited a plastic version of church. I'm sure there are a lot of good dedicated people here, but I just believe that you could find a place that feels more genuine, more diverse, and deeper.

If you're curious about who God is, if you're hurting and need support, if you want to join others in worshipping Jesus, and if you actually want to grow by listening to convicting Bible-based teaching, then Hosea IS the place for you. The people at this church love Jesus, and they're not afraid of showing it. I dare you to come on a Sunday; you won't look back. We also have free donuts and coffee!

There are many ongoing classes and programs set up for all age groups from childhood to adulthood during the week. It was also a delight for me to be able to worship in a very diverse environment which is not easy to find. Diversity is certainly in Heaven and it should be in God's house of worship on this Earth.
