I live different months in MN & PA states & here, using the Y pool swim to ease joints/back issues…read more This is no doubt the best Y w/its clean, modern locker/shower facilities, kid's pool with slides. But, there's only one 4 lanes lap pool so I have no idea why they had to "rest/close" the pool from 1-4pm weekdays. In both MN & PA, lap pool is opened all day 5:15am-8pm weekdays. If lap pool was used for swim team or life guard training, they'd open the kid's pool for lap swim. In Philly, there is one pool with no kids' pool. So certain hours, 2-3 lanes of pool are reserved for kids lesson/ fam swim, leaving 2 lanes for lap swim. But the pool is in use fr 5:15 till closing at 8 weekdays or 6/ 4pm weekends, except for Friday 2.5 hrs of pool cleaning. They tried to maximize the pool's usage to benefit members. Why such a waste of resources here in Avon, IN? I saw that the staff were just hanging out, doing nothing near the pool while members were not allowed 1-4pm to use the pool nor the sauna. It would be the best time for some ppl to swim/sauna in these 3 wasted hours. I hope that the management of Hendricks Y will reconsider their pool hours and not waste such a wonderful resource for its community. I will upgrade this to a 5 star if this is changed for the better (or even 6; ).

My two daughters attended Goddard from 2020 to 2022, and overall, our family had a mixed experience…read morethat varied significantly depending on the child and the classroom. Our older daughter, who was in the pre-K program, had a wonderful experience. She is naturally calm, observant, and quiet, and we found that the environment was a great fit for her personality and developmental stage. Her teachers were kind, engaged, and provided a nurturing learning experience that we genuinely appreciated. Our younger daughter, who was between the ages of 1 and 3 while attending, had a more challenging experience. She is a highly active, engaged child who was also dealing with chronic ear infections due to a congenital condition. Unfortunately, not all of her teachers were equipped to meet her needs. We had concerns in two of the three classrooms she was placed in. The most serious concern occurred when I arrived early for pick-up one day and witnessed a long-tenured teacher handling my daughter physically in a way I found completely unacceptable. I immediately reported the incident to both the assistant director and the director, who took action and moved her to a different classroom. While I appreciated their responsiveness, the experience was distressing and significantly impacted our trust. In the subsequent classroom, my daughter continued to struggle, and I believe part of this was due to a mismatch between her energy level and the teacher's capacity--particularly as the teacher had limited mobility. It felt, at times, like some teachers were not fully engaged or willing to adapt to a more active child who did not have any developmental concerns or diagnoses, just a different temperament than her older sister. The final classroom she was in made a huge difference. She had two incredibly hands-on, attentive teachers who truly connected with her, and she absolutely thrived. I only wish that had been our experience from the beginning. In summary, Goddard offers some strong programs and caring educators, but consistency in staff quality and responsiveness to different children's needs varied greatly in our experience. If your child is more laid-back, they may do well here. But if your child is more active or high-energy, I would recommend checking in frequently and being an advocate to ensure their needs are being fully met.

The experience of having our son enrolled at the school started fantastic and told numerous friends. Unfortunately my son was harmed due to insufficient supervision this month. If you chose to enroll make sure you clarify if the teachers in your child's room are trained or still learning. There is an abdication of responsibility if caused by insufficient training per the school.

Abc's & 123's Learning Centers
Read Me if Considering this School!!…read more I write today to share our experience with ABCs and 123s now doing business as The Weston School. When we first toured the facility we found the staff friendly and welcoming, the only catch I was apprehensive about was we were offered a small discount in exchange for a 5 star review. The menu they offer the children is ridiculous, I don't know how many times I saw from their app my child was being fed things most adults wouldn't eat on a daily basis (hard boiled eggs, baked beans, egg patty) . Often I would pick up a child who was clearly hungry because she's picky. I understand they're trying to provide a healthy meal but I would rather her eat. Security isn't taken very seriously, I cannot count the number of times parents have tried to follow me in without signing into the computer system that opens the door or parents just holding the door for anyone to walk in behind them. The staff while generally friendly seems to change often, I can't count how many "directors" they've had. Parents without proper placards and Staff parking in handicap spots that is never enforced. I've watched people with actual placards have to wait for parents who have no business parking in them to clear the spot. However the real issue comes at the end. With very little warning, they decided to stop driving the bus route to take our daughter to school (a school that if you check the list of schools they service is still listed). They claim a lack of staff caused this as well as our child being the only one attending that kindergarten school, however other schools are still serviced. ZERO attempts were made to help keep us as clients. It was just sorry but we're not going to drive to your child's school anymore so we're dropping you completely, with little warning. My advise is look into other schools. I know that finding child care is difficult however I'm sure that better options can be found as this provider will have no loyalty to you and will drop you with no warning.

I'll start with the positives- the staff and teachers were nice. The updates through the app were great (when they actually posted them). The prices are affordable. Now on the other hand- the communication in this school is terrible. They don't respond to messages you send via the app and the director takes days if not a second email to respond back. We weren't even told that one of my sons favorite teachers was leaving either. And then on his last day, his current teacher had no idea that we were even removing him. Now onto the food. They do not track eating habits accurately at all. I don't know how many times it would show that he had ate ALL of his food and it was a food he never even had before. And granted, my son is a picky eater.. But don't lie about him eating! He came home starving 90% of the time and it was never communicated that he wasn't eating much. They say they send updates on progress, pictures, and of course their eating habits, but this was far and few between when they were posted, other than the "ate all" of lunch or snack posts. We got the most updates we've ever received on our very last day. Hopefully someone new came in and will do a better job than they've been doing the last few months. I am not one to leave bad reviews but I felt other parents needed to know my experience before they decided to enroll their child here.

Randy and Janet are like family to me. I still visit when possible. The kids do not watch TV all day. They get play time, educational activites such as practicing writing (I learned how to write here which prepared me for kindergarten), and craft time (painting, coloring, etc). They throw parties for the kids on holidays and treat the children here like their own. The whole potty training thing on the other review is a boldface lie. They absolutely allow the children to use toilet paper and they of course wipe the children at every diaper change (and of course use baby powder and diaper rash ointment if necessary). I don't know how a parent that is there for drop off and pickup would claim something like that. I've been there as the child - all day - I think I would know better. Also yes, sometimes kids cry. If a kid is crying because they had to go to time out or a baby/ toddler is crying when they've been put down for a nap (fed, burped, dry, and clean of course) they obviously aren't going to pander to the child because they don't want to sleep or sit in time out. I am dumbfounded by the other review. They always take the best care of the children. Not to mention I've seen the other bigger pre schools in the area. The classes are so large that the children can't learn, the main focus is on just keeping them occupied. This childcare provides an experience that is educational and keeps the kids comfortable (the home environment is a lot less scary than a bigger pre school). Just look to me as an example. I am a college student majoring in biotechnology, and I graduated high school with technical and academic honors. I still look back on my time spent here fondly, and I look forward to when I can see Randy and Janet again.

The pamphlets and…read moretour and curriculum boast many textbook accolades and the many a things of what your child will learn. The teachers follow the program but realistically it's still up to the individual student how much they will get out of it. We have tried creme de la creme formerly Children's Learning Adventure previously as well as had nannies and done the half day mdos and church programs. We took the tour here a few times and were wowed but not sold for the extremely high price tag. When covid shut the world down and day cares closed and nannies quit coming or were sick more than they were well we watched the primrose Facebook pages and noticed if nothing else they were consistent, reliable, and pretty great communicators if they did ever close. Neither of our workplaces closed during covid so we needed something reliable and decided to give it a try. We were still weary the first few weeks as we would get a few pics every morning of group activities and of circle time and a few individual pics through out the week. My expectations were too high for some reason I thought I would get more and daily reports on how our child did. Instead it was more this is what class did today. Where we see them excel is that even at the preschool level they allow you nights to come meet the teachers, see the curriculum first hand, ask questions. They planned a trunk or treat to be a part of the school community (the teachers went all out to decorate their cars) and know kids outside of class not just in their classsrooms, and they offer parents teacher nights. They welcome questions and made time for our concerns. They know exactly what motivates your child, their strengths and weaknesses and are great at assessing them and finding ways to help them grow and are working on things beyond the textbook materials. At that point in coming in and meeting with the teachers did we see how much they cared and how vested they are. Communication in the app doesn't do this place justice. Listening to other parents doesn't do it justice either. It's a great group of ladies here. They are loving and caring and attentive.. Being involved and getting to know and listening to your teachers puts a new level of respect for these wonderful caring humans.
