"Creamy melted cheese" is not what the pretzels come with. Nacho cheese is, which isn't real cheese but a cheese "product". 1/5 stars.

Third update. Really trying to give them a higher review but each visit gets weirder and weirder. This time I call around maybe 11:15pm, while in my car on the way there, it states on the phone "press 1 to place an order". I press 1. It goes to a girl that tells me that they cannot take to go orders over the phone, which I had never heard of before. She told me that I had too some customer service number but that they can take my order if I arrive before 11:45pm. I was so confused. Never have I heard of a Hooters not being able to take my order over the phone, as that's how I usually place it when I'm on my way to one. I tried again. "Press 1 to place an order". Okay, maybe it routed it to somewhere else besides the store? I press 1. A different girl picks up, I get told the same by her, can't place order over the phone but if I arrive before 11:45pm they can take my order when I arrive, then gets a manager which was weird, she repeats the same information. I say okay it looks like I'll be there five till so I'll just order when get there, thanks, what was your name? They hang up. I arrive. I wait and wait. A girl greets me and asks my name. I say my name and I'm trying to place an order. She says let me get the manager then walks off. Extremely embarrassing. I'm waiting again. The manager shows up and asks what I'm trying to get because they're closing. I immediately reiterate that I was told that my order could be taken by multiple people if I arrived before 11:45pm. They said it's past that and I agreed stating I was left waiting for awhile. They took my order and I got it and left. Such an awkward visit. Still a three star Hooters.

Awesome fish and chips. Extremely crispy hot and nom nom

Just sat down and was on the phone with an important call. Elizabeth (Liz) stood by the table and was just being impatient. Body language was a big sign. I asked her if I could have a few minutes and ordered my drink. Literally 2 minutes later she was back. Her facial expression was almost as I was wasting her time. I am waiting for my car that is in service so I figured this would be a great place for lunch and wait. I finally ordered an appetizer of the Tex Mex Nachos on her recommendation. I was going to do the pretzel bites and cheese, however she was honest and said it was a very small order. A few minutes after the nacho order went in she was back at my table asking what I wanted for lunch. 1. I haven't even started on my appetizer or received it. 2. Being a pushy waitress in a dead restaurant not real smart. 3. Personality is everything, as a member of the front of the house represent yourself on how you would like to be treated. Granted people do have bad days, but in the hospitality business you have to bite the bullet sometimes. Pictures will be attached the nachos were extremely delicious. However, the manager had to go on the line to get the slackers in the kitchen to speed up. So after all this I ended up ordering the fish and chips. Liz become extremely friendly with a total mood change. I think maybe her coffee had not kicked in yet. Over all experience started out slow but became a good one.

The decline of this location continues. Takeout turned into a death-defying act. Curbside pickup not available, no staff outside at all. Even with pre-pay you have to pick up at the bar (manager asked for the name on the order, then still directed me there anyway). Literally nobody wearing a mask- not employees, not customers at the crowded bar. Inside feels very well worn and tired. Two stars based wholly on the fact that the smoked naked wings with Buffalo Hot Sauce were actually quite good. The experience picking them up was not.

Service was so so. I ordered the nachos. They were terrible. Toppings were not fresh at all and the chips were beyond greasy. Everyone else got boneless wings and said they were good. The sauces for the wings are not made in house however. They taste very artificial and nasty. Seems like this location has just went downhill. Old, dirty and musty.

Had a delicious burger here last night and some much needed wind-down time. Mekiah was super personable and professional and made the visit even better. Thanks Mekiah, and thanks Hooter's!

Baja Shrimp Tacos
Rurouni F.

I had the fried pickles and Baja shrimp tacos. The fried pickles came out hot and salty. It was all right. However, the shrimp tacos took like 45 min to come out while it wasn't busy. When I went in, there was a few guys on the bar drinking who weren't ordering foods. Then there was one table already occupied, two most. So it wasn't exactly busy at all. The shrimp tacos: seasoned and grilled then loaded with cabbage, pico de gallo and a special sauce and wrapped in flour tortillas. $10.79. The special sauce got a kick to it. The shrimp was ok and the rest of the taco was just raw veggies without any seasoning or extra preparation.

Lots of Tots (Before)

I wish I had checked the reviews before eating here. The quality of the food is pre-made or prepackaged at best. The food is overpriced as well. I paid about $8 for the Lots of Tots and would have done better getting tots from Sonic for much cheaper, and better tasting. The Taco Salad was $12 and looked and tasted like it came out of a bag bought from the supermarket. The taste was bland and unappealing. Not fresh at all and again, overpriced. I won't be eating here again.

"Daytona Beach" breaded wings, curly fries, and mozzarella sticks (which I finished taking pic). Yum-E!

Being from Spartanburg, I have never actually had food from a Hooters until I was invited to dinner at the Greenville restaurant. Hooters is more known for their wings and their "hot" female waitresses walking around in orange shorts. Most people would be going to Hooters for the chicks; I honestly go more for the food. And it surprisingly isn't bad for such a popular chain. Our waitress was nice, but going on a Friday night I got relatively slow service. My appitizer came around when my entree came. I had 10 "Daytona Beach-style" wings (breaded) and curly fries. Surprisingly very tasty! The wings however were HOT! Hot as in the temperature of the wings. No matter how hungry you are, please let 'em cool down before you eat. And the wings are drenched in sauce, so get plenty of napkins. The curly fries were good, but they cooled down quite quick. Overall, the food is way better than what I've had at chains like Buffalo Wild Wings; which is small portions of food at a high price. During my first trip, I heard the girls do their loud "birthday star" anthem. It was nice to watch them get all energetic. ;) All in all, Hooters in Greenville is good, but you might want to go on more days where there's specials going on (like on "Wingsday").

My first time visiting Greenville and my partner is a huge Steeler's fan and go figure a local Steeler's bar that feels like it was airlifted right out of Pittsburgh (from personal experience) lol. The bartenders, waitresses I swear gave me all of the local vibes although I talked to a few and they're not lol. The wings are really really good and you can't come here without trying them. I'm honestly looking forward to coming back and seeing how this bar jumps during football season. As a long time Green Bay Packer fan, I was so surprised to see that they had a small select few Packer items located around the bar. It's like an Easter egg hunt and I think I found 3 lol. Funny thing is, a gentlemen walked in and had on a Packer hat so I can wait to come back in full gear but let's not over look that this is an official Steeler's bar. I didn't see any Panther's so that was pretty funny. Bottom line is, Tip It Back is a really cool spot and has the traditional dive bar feel. None of that foo foo craps, good beer, good wings, come as you are, Cheers where everybody knows your name kinda vibe. Come check em out, okay some pool or shoot some deer. You'll feel at home here. I can't wait to come back!

We were planning lunch on a Monday at a favorite spot, wings for her, burger for me, but it's not…read moreopen for lunch on Monday. My wife wanted good fries, which for her are thicker fries, think Five Guys and not McDonalds or smaller. So, we hit up the Ale House. This is a definite sports bar in a large and airy space with a large rectangular bar in the center, booths along the walls and plenty of table seating. There is also space for outdoor seating on a covered porch, weather permitting. I counted 24 big screen TVs spread around with three on each side of the rectangular bar, one on the end. The music was straight up rock music, not soft rock or country rock, just rock, like Rock 101 style (mostly 70's-early 80's). Seated pleasantly, immediately. But had to wait near five minutes for any further attention. It wasn't that busy, but there wasn't that much help either. Shiela took good care of us, once she got started. The only service glitch was when the food arrived (17 minutes from ordering) the side of fries was forgotten. Initially, a bummer. But it was also immediately noted by Shiela as she was serving the food. Turns out it be a good thing. We had to wait 7 minutes for the fries to arrive, but they were piping hot and crisp straight from the fryer. Shiela told us the cook chose to drop a new batch, which Shiela also said was a good thing since the fries get a little lumper and greasy if they sit for a while. Which makes sense. But these were top marks on crisp outside, fluffy inside textures and flavor corresponds. Wings were very good but on the small side. No lemon pepper but the Carolina sweet BBQ were good. I tried the new special, something like a French onion dip smashburger. It was a smashburger, one patty, no lettuce or tomato or such, cheese and a melted slice of Swiss cheese on the top of the burger bun. Served with a side of what they called a French onion au jus but was really their French onion soup without the bread and melted cheese. I imagine some guy in the menu development department got to thinking about the French dip sandwich concept and that led him to think about French onion soup and then since he's been watching a lot of the Food Channel a mashup idea began and the smashburger winds up in the mix because it is a recent trend. A French dip/onion soup smashburger. It tastes alright, but conceptually, it doesn't go together palette wise or aesthetically. The burger is served with a steak knife, because it also looks questionable as to whether one should or can pick up the burger - it looks messy. But doable. It's just the flavor combo didn't hit, too much clash with the burger from the onion soup. Barring the fries mishap, this was okay. I bet it would be awesome if I were in my 20's and I bet my sons would be crazy about this place on a Football Saturday in the fall. Not bad, but "not my bag, baby!"
