I had Honkamp Krueger prepare the taxes on some property I own. They not only took 12 months to prepare my taxes (on one piece of property), but they also charged me $7,300 for the preparation of the taxes (not including what I owed the state for income tax). My property isn't worth much more than that. After they wouldn't adjust the cost of the tax preparation, I told them I would not be returning to them to do my taxes for this year and they keep sending me junk mail and trying to sell me audit protection for $500! I have had them prepare my taxes for over 8 years. I never really paid attention to the bill but they raise your rate every year by 10 percent. Enough is enough. I even had my identity stolen. They had a breech a few years ago at their financial division, which just so happen to be the same time that someone hacked my stuff and then they charged over 1000 to get my tax returns and I didn't ask them to. I always take them my stuff with all the numbers and they plug it in and send you a nice big bill. I have gone somewhere else that helped me more for half the price. read more
