It'll take you through a French seaside town of Mainland, where the only spot to grab a bite to eat is the Tea by the Sea. This doubles as a museum (with some outdoor exhibits) and has some local art and crafts as well. The place was being operated by some great young local kids dressed in period clothing. They use French dishware, and the dining room is full of large windows looking out onto the St. Lawrence. Be sure to get a table by the windows. I'm always amazed at just how many options a menu has on it in a restaurant this remote. Needless to say it was a very good lunch spot. We started off with the chowder which was chock full of scallops, clam and other seafood. It came with some fluffy white bread. We both then had the Newfie BLT (note: B is for Bologna). It was a solid sandwich. Finally, we finished off with a banana sour cream cake which was really good! The cake was made of spongy layers with dense banana in between. The frosting was top notch. Overall, it was a great lunch spot. There's a nice view out back too.
