I normally don't leave reviews, but after the experience we had, I feel obligated to warn others so…read morethey don't make the same mistake we did.
We worked with Tara Evans, a real estate agent based in Arizona, and from start to finish the entire process was disorganized, stressful, and frankly unprofessional. Buying a home is already one of the biggest decisions a person can make, and instead of feeling supported or guided, we were left confused, rushed, and constantly second-guessing everything.
From the very beginning, communication was a problem. Emails would go unanswered, texts were acknowledged but never responded to, and phone calls always went to voicemail. When we did finally hear back, the responses felt rushed and vague, as if we were inconveniencing them by asking basic questions about contracts, timelines, or next steps.
We made it clear upfront that we were looking for our third real estate investment and needed someone patient and detail-oriented. Unfortunately, that was not what we got. Important information was either glossed over or explained after the fact, usually when something had already gone wrong. We often found ourselves learning critical details from the lender or escrow instead of our own agent -- which should never happen.
Scheduling was another constant issue. Showings were confirmed and then suddenly canceled, sometimes with little to no notice. On more than one occasion, we arrived at a property only to find out the showing was never actually set up. This was embarrassing and a complete waste of time, especially since we were coordinating around work schedules.
When it came time to make an offer, things got worse. We felt pressured to move quickly without fully understanding the implications, and when we asked questions or expressed hesitation, the responses became dismissive. Instead of explaining options or advocating for us, it felt like the priority was just getting the deal done as fast as possible.
Once under contract, the lack of organization became impossible to ignore. Deadlines were missed, documents were sent late, and we were repeatedly told "it's fine" only to find out later that it was not fine at all. At one point, we had to remind our Tara of a contingency date -- something that should be their responsibility, not ours.
The inspection phase was particularly frustrating. Concerns we raised were brushed off, and we felt discouraged from asking for reasonable repairs or credits. When we pushed back, we were made to feel difficult or unrealistic, rather than supported as clients trying to protect a major investment.
Throughout the process, there was a general sense of chaos and lack of accountability. Mistakes were rarely acknowledged, and explanations often changed depending on the day. It never felt like anyone was truly "on top" of our transaction.
By the time we reached closing, the excitement of buying a home had been completely replaced by exhaustion and anxiety. We crossed the finish line, but it felt like we did so in spite of our agent, not because of them.
I want to be clear: this review is not about perfection. We understand things can go wrong in real estate. What matters is communication, transparency, and advocacy -- all of which were consistently lacking here.
If you're looking for an Arizona real estate agent who is proactive, organized, communicative, and truly has your best interests at heart, I strongly recommend continuing your search away from the Tackett Team and particularly Tara Evans . We deeply regret choosing this agent and would not work with them again.
