After getting several estimates, we chose ASAP Handyman for fascia and soffit repairs, siding…read morereplacement, and wood rot repairs around our roofline. They found damage we didn't even know was there, explained every step, and never pressured us into unnecessary work. The finished repairs look like they were always part of the house, and the paint matched perfectly. If you're looking for roofline repairs, gutter repairs, fascia replacement, soffit repair, siding repair, or exterior wood rot repair in Charlotte, I highly recommend giving them a call.

I hired Jacob Jackson for repair to some framework, minor drywall repair, painting (touch-up, no…read morecolor chances), door refinishing, floor cleaning, and other minor repairs to window blinds and screens. He was later than our scheduled times because: 1. His wife had errands to run and he needed to stay with their children. 2. It was hot and he took his kids to the water park. 3. He took his wife to the dentist. He left during the work to: 1. Buff a friend's truck. 2. Fix another customer's plumbing problem. 3. Meet his wife and son who was getting a haircut. Some of the repairs he made were OK, but much of the work was not professional looking. His painting was awful. Paint was dripped on the baseboards, slopped on the trim, and smeared on the floor. I had to repaint the baseboards and trim. The floors were not adequately cleaned. After he left, I spot clean the carpet and redid the hardware and tiled floors. He was not true to his stated prices. He exaggerated the scope and the hours of his work to inflate his bill. Jacob seems sincere and anxious to work, but he is more interested in over charging than providing good service at a fair price. Do not fall victim to this unethical handyman. Post review: Response to reply. The wife's reply is not factual. I never met or spoke with her and to my knowledge, she never came to the home so her accounting of what I said or what was done is not first hand. The work was spread over a week, but none of the days were full days. The water slide work delay mentioned was not on the 4th of July. Her husband took the kids to Carowinds water park that day -- a different outing. His last work day was the 3rd. I never said do the work and I'll pay. There was no final walk through; no expression of satisfaction with the totality of the work. She is repeating her husband's exaggerated work claims. For example, "trenching" was scrapping some mulch from in front of a drainage exit: "screen repair" was replacing one screw that was missing for one of the screens to attach to. And the floor cleaning: I was going to hire Stanley Steamer when Jacob said he had a guy who would do the carpet for $69, claiming that I would get a discounted price due to the volume of work I was having done and the hope of establishing an on-going relationship. Jacob also said that his wife wanted to do the hardwoods and tiled floors at cost for the same reasons. He then claimed that the carpet cleaning guy could do the other floors for less that his wife. On the final invoice, he charged $550 for the floor cleaning. He claimed 5 hours of service. The cleaner was there for 2.

In April 2025 we hired Mr. Handyman of Mooresville (and I am not sure if it is the same company as…read moreMr. Handyman of Mooresville, Lake Norman, Concord or maybe it is just a part of it) to do a kitchen faucet installation and to replace a power plug in the garage. We had Eric as their service professional who after spending an hour in the garage concluded the new power plug we bought at Lowe's was faulty, therefore he reinstalled the old one. He managed to install the kitchen sink faucet but after he left we noticed it was leaking slowly under the sink and the faucet water flow was reduced to about half. We called the company who argued with us about everything and still charged us the full $363 as if everything was done perfectly! My husband was later able to figure out how to install the new power plug by just watching a few youtube videos and of course the new power plug worked great showing that Eric in fact had no clue about how to install it. Youtube could help you too Eric, as the company does not seem to invest at all in your training! We also had to hire another company to come fix the kitchen sink leakage from the faulty installation of the new faucet. In the end a manager with Mr. Handyman of Mooresville cancelled our invoiced charge - one reasonable thing they did, but it was truly stressful and disappointing to work with them! We do not recommend them.

Having visited IKEA locations in Ireland and Sweden, I've seen how they take the concept so…read moreseriously over there--it's an entire cultural experience. Here, we tend to treat it more like a giant showroom with free babysitting and a cafeteria, but the value is still hard to beat. I had a great run during my most recent trip. The deals were everywhere! I picked up a summer-weight duvet along with a new cover and shams to refresh the bedroom. I also found a stunning set of gold-toned serving flatware -- they have that sleek, high-end look without the boutique price tag. A few highlights and "hiccups" from this visit: The Food & Drink:I tried the fish balls with mashed potatoes for lunch, and they were actually pretty tasty. I also noticed an older gentleman sitting completely alone, casually drinking glasses of what appeared to be wine. Many IKEA locations with a restaurant license do serve beer and wine, and honestly, he had the right idea. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the food market for those specific cookies and foreign candies you just can't find anywhere else. The Atmosphere: At one point, navigating the floor felt a bit like an escape room. While the staff seems nice enough, they aren't exactly eager to help--you really have to run them down to get an answer. The Warehouse:I'm honestly not a fan of the self-service furniture selection policy. The whole warehouse environment is pretty intimidating when you're trying to track down boxes. The Strategy:Since I'm lucky enough to live only 25 minutes away I've realized I need to stop coming here like it's a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. If I visited more often, I probably wouldn't feel the need to drop $200 every time! Overall, it's a solid four-star experience for the unique finds and the reliable "Swedish-lite" atmosphere, even if you have to do some of the heavy lifting yourself.

I was really the next in line for a long time and it took forever and then I couldn't even return the item as they change their policy with out my notice on plants. Also for checking out after purchasing stuff the line was so long and it was very confusing. They didn't have any of the self checkouts open. I finally got to the front of the line and the cashier went away on a break so I had to wait longer. I felt like there's a lot of workers but they were just not on the cashier so it was just a slow process.
