From the outside, the shop looks well cared for. However, inside it's a bit of a mess. Nonetheless, it has some interesting finds like the paintings on the wall, the glittering pendants and the vast array of chinaware. The items in this shop remind me of stuff you would find at a garage sale, meaning that for the most part there are a lot of knick knacks. Case in point: there are two old period dresses that are musty and unfashionable. I suppose someone might want them if they were putting on a Jane Austen play. There is also a frightening diorama of three little dolls in the bathroom. The whole scene suggests that these figures are cursed. All in all, this antique shop sells a mixture of beautiful and odd wares.

The man working there at the time was able to tell us all about the history of this piece, and of the antique items in the cases, which was very interesting and helpful. The store is full of interesting pieces, and all within reasonable prices. We had no trouble with trying on pieces of jewellery, and were not rushed in any way. We were given all the attention we needed and got to take photos of the jewellery as well as try it on to see what suited the best. When I had chosen a locket, the man told me a couple of tricks for working with Photoshop to get the perfect size and shape photo to fit the locket. He even offered to do it himself for me, and printed a photo there and then for me, and put it in the locket too. I can't say enough about how friendly and professional this man was, and the shop in general. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Galway.

Gayle came along and put up with my wandering through Fado, both of us knowing full well that we didn't need one more thing to clutter up the house. That's rarely stopped me, and among the nicely curated offerings here, I found a little item to take home for some still undefined use.

I found a lovely wool wrap here for a really decent price that was made in Italy. Too bad we were here just before closing - I probably would have found more gift items here if I had more time. We were met by Joann the sales person/ customer service lady. She showed some necklaces and bracelets to my wife. My wife chose a nice claddagh necklace which she chose. I was looking to add a pendant to my existing saint florian necklace, looking for a claddagh pendant. The sales woman had none but she asked if I would wait a minute bc she had an idea. She took a men's claddagh ring into the jeweler along with my saint florian pendant. A few minutes went by and she came out with an idea from the jeweler. The jeweler handmade a claddagh pendant from the men's 9k gold ring to match my Saint florian and bc we were on such a tight schedule. He was able to make it in 1-1/2 hours and my wife bought the matching women's claddagh ring and had it resized. In summary, the staff, jeweler and the merchandise were amazing and at an excellent price.
