I've tried calling and texting multiple times, and now they don't even respond. Very unprofessional to waste my time and energy like this!

We didn't want to replace them with generic windows from a manufacturer so he took out the rotten sashes and repaired them at his workshop, replacing the rotten wood with clean new wood. He even repainted them in a color so close to the original, it's pretty much indistinguishable to my very picky eye. His work was careful and innovative -- it was a really difficult repair -- and he left the place completely tidy. Dann also rebuilt our back outdoor stairs and did a tidy, solid job of it. His rates are reasonable and he's quick, a great communicator and easy to be around. We recommended Dan to a friend who needed some fairly extensive work done in her kitchen and she said his work was excellent and he was a joy to have around (she works at home).

We found Greg on Yelp through the quote system, and we are so thankful we did! Initially, we were…read morelooking for replacing cabinets and countertops only but Greg provided much more than that. After meeting in person at our condo and walking through what we were looking for, we asked if he knew anyone who could do mirror closets. We weren't planning on asking him and just wanted to see if he knew a guy - but of course - HE was the guy. After our meeting, Greg put together a very detailed quote and plan for cabinets and countertops, complete with very nice digital sketches/outlines, and mirror closets for master and bedroom. The quote was made so we could remove any items as needed and could see the price we'd pay. Very easy to follow. We went with countertops and mirror closets, plus demo of old closets, old countertops and demo of this random mirror/cabinet set in our condo. He also worked with us on our budget and understood what we could not move forward with. This meant a lot to us as first time homeowners. Once he got to work, I remembered a few other items that we could need and once again asked Greg if he'd be able to do it and of course, he said yes. We needed a mantel removed from above our fireplace and we wanted to replace our bathroom mirrors with new mirrors. He happily added those to our list of requests. Greg is very flexible and also was like a mentor to us. He was honest about the things we could do on our own to save money. He also discovered a few broken valves that our inspector missed and helped us fix those as well. After he was done with our services, he has checked up on us and given advice when we noticed our hot water wasn't working. He also offered to come take a look if we couldn't figure it out. This is outside of the scope of his service! But with his advice and direction, we were able to figure it out. We are grateful to have met Greg - a smart, professional and quick worker, PLUS an overall great person. We will gladly recommend him to all of our friends and family who are looking for home renovations.

My experience: used Yelp to send out a mass inquiry for my chipped counter to cabinetry businesses…read moreand contractors - for ten or eleven businesses total. Greg was 1 of 3 to respond right away. The two others that responded right away gave me quick bids of $300-400$. I asked them "isn't that a little high for one hours work.... I'm in construction myself and know what this type of job takes." They basically agreed to re-negotiate but I was so turned off I didn't care to deal with them, as Greg already agreed to do it for his $150 minimum. He was a really nice guy so I ended up hanging out with him and watching him work because I'm weird like that And like to learn. I learned about his experience in construction and how he is launching into a new phase with some high-tech laser machinery. We laughed at his dilemma: "should I focus on cabinetry or advertising and signage." I told him him idk but I'll include it in the Yelp review. Lol. So yeah Greg is honest and reliable and gave me the fairest deal. He's got some crazy lasers now and will do your job probably for a very good deal because that is going to cut down the cost of production tremendously (I'm assuming). So give him a call eh? Edit: When Greg bid the job I only showed him the one big chip. There was actually 2 other small chips. Greg did not mention this at all and did all three no questions asked. Also, he took a looooong time mixing the color correctly - I was beginning to feel bad. So he's very diligent and takes the time to do it right

He claimed to have fixed the deck support but all he did was place one of our landscaping rocks under one corner which we could have done ourselves. Attached photos show the end result that he left us with. It seems like it was due to bad materials more than lack of skill but it should not have been what we were left with. We reached out that night to let him know we were not satisfied with the work and and after some difficult and delayed communications, he did agree come back and make it right. two weeks later he replaced the deck boards again. This time it was done right, as it should have in the first place. We really appreciate his willingness to come back and correct the mistakes. We're happy with the re-do but probably will not hire him again due to this negative experience overall.

In all honesty the silence is so deafening I'm hoping no one is hurt or otherwise out of things due to something unfortunate. Looking back I can see that they said the appointment was 'tentative', and that they'd call ahead of time. Fair enough. That bothers me a lot less than the complete silence afterwards. Without any kind of response one way or another I had to assume they were coming, and sit around all day waiting for it to happen. Edit: I was finally contacted six days later and after posting this review. The business owner was very upset because of this review. They claimed I was lying, they threatened me with using slander laws against me. In the interest of full disclosure I will reprint all the relevant details of our communication and you can decide. Regardless, I am within my rights to write a bad review of a business that I feel treated me poorly. Even if I'm wrong. So, good Yelpers, you decide: Me: (Initial request for quote based on work, unnecessary to reprint) Business: Hi Jay, Booked out until next week, but could you provide the service address, for that's how we schedule? (They listed their rates. I won't reprint that because they may change them in the future or for specific jobs) Let us know your thoughts and we'll go from there. Thank you for your time. Me: Next week is fine, (contact info I won't reprint here) Business: Hi Jay, How does Monday between 8:30 and 9 sound? Me: Monday is our daughter's first day of school, so not a great day. Wednesday morning I'm busy. Otherwise the rest of the week is open. Business: We can tentatively set it for Tuesday at 9 Me: That sounds good. Business: Alright, you're in there and this is for the actual work correct? You're list was pretty descriptive and we'll come as prepared as possible less any speciality materials we'd have to go get. Me: (details of the job, not necessary to reprint) Business: Will attempt to call you prior to appointment sir. That was the last time I heard from them until after the review, then: Business: Very extremely rude of you sir to post such false things. Tenative means that we're still deciding if we want your jobs! We have the right to decide what work we take and your projects may not be a fit for us. We never made an agreed time out of respect for YOUR SCHEDULE but we are a business not your personal servant. Business: Very very rude Business: There are also SLANDER LAWS in this state sir. NOT FAIR that you have posted such things Business: We thhink it wise for you to delete the slander upon our company who are not your personal servants but a simple Service that you called for help but your schedule did did not match with the OPTIONS we only had available to you. I believe if you look at my original review and the communication there was not a single falsehood. I mentioned they said "tentative", but I also think their communication implied an appointment. You be the judge. They never refused me service, but honestly that would have been preferable. I never treated them like they were my "servants". I've worked with enough handymen and contractors to know that sometimes jobs aren't a fit. But setting an appointment, even tentatively, then never communicating again is unprofessional, and I will write a review for that.
