This mural is located on the walls of Indianapolis Animal Care Services. It covers two of the building's walls. The mural cannot be accessed all the time, as the Indianapolis Animal Care Services building is behind a gate that is locked most of the time.
The mural is nice. It looks like it was drawn by a kid. I am here for that look though, being the father of two littles. It was designed by Susan Kline, but is the product of Signcraft's 2015 Day of Service, so it had to be a simple piece because it was painted by different artist with little to no artistic ability.
The mural depicts a horse pulling a wagon to a finish line (home) down a yellow path toward adoption away from the Animal Care and Control Center. There is a kid at the finish waving a checkered flag. The side wall is in a little worse shape than the front section. It has that green mold building up that you find on the side of many houses. That side has silhouettes of people playing with dogs in green space. It also has the words, "Caring for Animals Responsibly and Ethically."
There is a decent sized lot that belongs to the IACS, to park at, get out and get a closer look of the sculpture.
Well, as with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is probably not a very long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. You may want to consider planning out additional stops or making it part of a larger itinerary. read more
