It was pretty busy but we were able to get a table outside without a reservation. We could have been sat inside as well as the hostesses told us she has one table available in 5 minutes possible but inside was busy and loud so keep that in mind. The place is relative small, cozy, tables close together, very warm ambiance. Waitress was nice and gave us recommendations and they did not disappoint. Meatballs are not on the menu but she said they always have them. Biff Rydberg was my favorite, its a nice beef (maybe tenderloin) cut up with grilled onions and some kind of horseradish on the side, comes with diced potatoes. Other items we tried were the hash browns, and the Wallenbergare (Veal cutlet). Everything was good but for me the meatballs and the Biff Rydberg were standouts Check this place out for some traditional food, they also have some good beers on tap, if you're visiting Id recommend giving them a try.

To Black/African nationals BEWARE of the race discrimination by the Head Waitress…read more I am of African-American descent. On August 11, 2024, on my last day touring Stockholm, I approached the restaurant at 6:50 pm after a brief rain shower. The weather was hot prior to the rain shower. After the rain shower, the temperature became slightly chilly. I chose to eat inside. Upon arrival, a young, (20ish) Turkish/Muslim, waiter greeted me. He offered me a table outside. I declined for a table inside. I was instructed to see the Head Waitress "Oosa" [pronunciation] of her first name-spelling unclear]. "Oosa," late 40's, early 50 ish, appeared to be of Muslim descent, approached me. "Oosa" said she was too busy to serve me despite seeing several, single, tables available and open. "Oosa" turned me away. The restaurant inside was busy with open single table. I went across the street to the park. I watched white and Asian patrons approach and enter the restaurant after me. At approx. 7:05pm, I decided to book a table on the restaurant's website. My table was booked at 7:15pm on the same day. The restaurant's online booking had many open slots that day. I reapproached the male waiter. "Oosa" came outside to serve a group of white diners. I then approached "Oosa" showing her my online confirmed reservation. At this point, "Oosa" conceded to let me into the restaurant without incident. I was professionally served by a white, male, waiter who was working inside the restaurant. "Oosa" had 2 white, male, waiters working inside the restaurant. She wasn't over burdened as she tried to proclaim. The Swedish cuisine was excellent. The treatment I received from both male waiters was professional and non-discriminatory. Fast forward: September 14, 2024 I contacted the restaurant. I spoke to "Oosa." She explained she was born in Turkey. She would never discriminate against black people. "Oosa" then said I was turned away because they had too many online reservations. The restaurant was fully booked. I told "Oosa" this is NOT true. I told her I booked an open, online, reservation in order to enter the restaurant shortly after she decline me entry. She could not explain why she admitted white and Asian diners after me with many single tables open and available during the entire 90 minutes I dined in the restaurant. I have formally filed a Race Discrimination complaint against this restaurant and "Oosa" to the Equality Ombudsman (DO) of Sweden who investigate complaints of discrimination. BEWARE Black and African descent people (ethnic people of color) BEWARE of the Head Waitress ("Oosa's") reverse-racist, discriminatory practices. If you are turned away, do an ONLINE booking. She can not turn you away. If she does, refer to https://www.do.se/choose-language/english or call the local police for assistance. Put "Oosa" on public display in front of diners demanding the exercise of your civil rights.

Apparently I'm not the only one - since last I visited it is now placed on Michelin's Bib Gourmand list for Stockhom, and rightfully so. Upon entry you'll already feel a lovely blend of Swedish design and quirky aesthetic choices that signal you're in for a good experience. While the interior is tasteful, there are elements like chairs being mounted on the walls and a couple of the seatings being perched up on mounts near the front windows. Everyone who greets you and serves are very delightful, charming, and often funny, which really sets the tone wonderfully. The food itself is on the heartier side but all really well considered and delicious. We had the see bass ceviche with tomatoes (fresh, tangy, and complex) and iberico ham with parmesan (basic but very high quality ingredients), both of which were really delicious. The complimentary bread rolls and butter were really delightful, cooked with a bubbly crunchy texture that was delightful to chew. The main courses included their classic pork confit dish as well as another ibercio pork entree with white beans, cilantro, and chorizo - both were savory and very meat-forward but the star of the show was absolutely those white beans which were prepared in a very savoury sauce. Our total bill including a very good bottle of pinot noir from Napa Valley the bill came to around $240 USD. For the quality of the food, service, and attention to style, as well as the distinction of being a recognized place to eat in Stockholm, I would definitely recommend this place to any traveler who wants to experience local cusine in Stockholm.

It's a lovely ambiance and our seats provided a view of the plates coming out and the bartender (2nd day!) was exceptional - made us laugh and enjoyed ourselves. But "Knut Restaurang & Bar" is different. It embraces traditional Swedish cuisine, and actually creates something New out of it. And this is exactly what I look for when I eat overseas: a a new angle on the country's traditional cuisine. "Knut Restaurang & Bar" offers the cuisine of Northern Sweden, focusing on Reindeer, Moose, and northern Snow-Birds. It's quite enlightening, and delicious too. Christmas at "Knut Restaurang & Bar" is a Holiday Spectacle. The Christmas season is HUGE in Sweden, with "Jul Afton" (Christmas Eve) being the most important day of the year. And on this day "Knut Restaurang" does not disappoint. Decorations are hung, holiday music is played, and the menu is altered to honor the traditional dishes of this special night. The service here is good.

It was a thoughtful touch for those who choose to sit outdoors while it's still warm, then linger into the cooler hours. My wife was very happy with her salad. Our Swedish friend liked her meatballs. I was disappointed with my smoked salmon. I expected an actual smoked salmon filet. I got a generous pile of the kind of smoked salmon one might find at a nice breakfast buffet: a mound of died, floppy fish slices that'd be great on a bagel but not as an entree. Our service was thoughtful and our food arrived promptly. Had I ordered a different dish, we'd easily be in 4-star territory. For those who prefer a quieter meal where you can hold a conversation, I recommend arriving before the band starts or dining inside-- reservations highly encouraged! I started with the Herring Sample, which included three different styles of herring, and for my entrée, I ordered the dish my heart had been yearning for: the Swedish meatballs. As a huge fan of lingonberries over cranberries, I was delighted to see them served on the side. Overall, the meatballs were similar to what I've had back in the States, but as with all European meals, tasted more elevated and wholesome. It felt like a Thanksgiving celebration--Swedish style! The gravy was delicious, and the potato puree were comforting.
