It is unfortunate that I cannot post photos on YELP. If I could post my Homer Library photos, you would see that the toothache I was dealing with at the time almost went away, as the place made me so happy. I am smiling with the ease of a girl who has not a dental worry in her mind. The library, well, it is a gorgeous building and the librarians were sweet as pie. To say such cliche and dopey things does not insult this library b/c feeling happy in a library is sort of dopey and cliche which is comforting. I am a library school drop out and generally loathe most librarians. I felt welcomed by there staff which is not a feeling that is common when I enter libraries. Often, I feel like librarians want to have more academic jobs and are sour about their current employment situation. Sometimes, librarians are the mall cops who wannabe real cops. And this sucks. Not the case in Homer, Alaska. If I ever return to Homer, this will be the first place I visit other than the Kilcher ranch to spy on Atz who is just amazing as Hedwig. He is also amazing at just.. walking. And smiling. Poor Atz must feel a deep need for privacy, so obvi we would call first. Maybe even from the library. read more
