It's like you are a number and hurry along and get out of here. I came here to get a replacement credit card, had an appointment, when I booked the appointment the lady advised me to go ahead of the line and let the attendant at the door know you were here for an appointment and give her your name, she would get you in ASAP, well that's exactly what I did and the rude girl just ignored me and took other folks before me that did not have an appointment so obviously I was late to my appointment, thank you rude employee at the door. Once finally entering I was not greeted, just told where to go, I sat down and the process took place, I still felt like I was a number and no one cared. After that process I had to cash a check that had my name on it and my mother, my name was first, my mother had signed, agreed for me to do whatever I would like. The employee refused to cash it or deposit it, advised that my mother had to be there.....funny thing is when I go to other branches they cash the check or deposit it with no problems, no questions. I have been banking here for about 10 yrs now and this branch makes me want to move money out of here. Of course I was not happy and of course the employee did not care nor try to give me further reason. Yea I know banks have policies but why do the other branches cash a check or deposit it with my name and my mothers name.....Doesn't make any since!!!!! Like I said I am most definitely reconsidering moving banks and will not recommend this branch to any of my family and friends. I went through three different employees and they all three were rude!!! What ever happen to customer service!!!! Obviously it skipped a beat here..... Glad I don't live in this area and was just down to visit family!!!!

No, Carter bank may not have ATMs or online banking like bigger banks, but they do have a drive-thru window to accommodate those who get out of work after 5. They also have investment options and free checking. I trust them a lot more these days than the "big" banks.

It is truly rare to find a customer service organization where the needs of their customers are so…read morecompletely unimportant. In my two years of being an account holder at Carter Bank & Trust, I have had tellers and notaries speak to my wife and I very rudely, both in person and over the phone. On one occasion, we were openly mocked by a group of tellers for having a low balance on our account. I have ceased attempting to check my account balance over the phone as the tellers are typically short, irate, and unconcerned - that is when they have the courtesy to not hang up on me. I have been told on at least two occasions that various branches will not allow you to check your balance over the phone. (What if i'm on the other side of the country?!) Most recently, a teller would not provide the current balance of our account to my wife. In addition to the abysmal customer service, this bank chooses to remain in the technological stone age, failing to provide any type of online banking, and provides little if any information to it's customers. We will be moving our account to a larger, more customer friendly, and forward-minded bank at the first opportunity. Frankly, I can't wait to get away from this pathetic excuse for a financial institution.
