Don't go here. Stay way. This is MY favorite place...FIND YOUR OWN!* (I'm kidding.)…read more This is my favorite place to get a haircut because of the community atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, this is a great place to get an awesome haircut or beard trim/shave. But you get way more than a haircut. You make instant friendships and these guys invest in you. I went in knowing no one and I was a little intimidated by the whole barber shop atmosphere because I thought there might be some cold, "super-manly," macho vibe. Instead, everyone was more than kind and welcoming. In fact, it was really nice to be around a group of other guys. I used to be annoyed by the fact that I had to get my haircut once every 4-6 weeks. Now I go to this place once a week because...it's FUN and I leave looking good AND feeling good about myself. * So I changed my mind. I guess you can come to my barbershop. We can all use some more friends. See you there! :)

Today, we booked with Amaya Serrano and my husband must have entered the wrong appointment time because he ended up showing up 10 minutes late. Despite being confused and apologetic (he thought he was on time) Amaya was very rude and dismissive. She was visibly annoyed and insistent that only an abbreviated cut could be done due to timing. This was an otherwise empty shop at the time. I can understand time constraints, and even being turned away due to being late, but what I can't understand is the lack of kindness and lack of customer service in general. We will be spreading the word about Amaya at fine linez.

I came in for a big chop with layers and Sadie took care of me and knew where to start. She was not only professional with her work, but so nice and charismatic too! Laurel, who works the front, was very kind as well and made sure everyone felt right at home. My boyfriend came in for a men's cut as well (earlier in the week) which was a hard decision since he has straight thick, long hair and needed a tune up, but Alissa took his worries into consideration and gave him the first perfect cut he's had in a while! Overall recommend this darling salon for their quick service, hospitality, and customer care.

The receptionist said the charge was $20. Their website claims that children ages 0-5 are age x $2 so I was expecting to pay less than half of the price charged, which we've done before (see attached photo of pricing from their website). I understand that some stylists may charge more, but I should have been told that information when the appointment was scheduled, so that I could have made a more informed decision. I feel like that is a shady way of doing business. I think the best decision at this point would be to never refer or return to salon Avanti.
