I am not a new Stanley Steemer customer, but this was my first booking while living in this area…read more This Troy Ohio location exceeded my expectations - and my expectations were high based on previous work from other SS locations. The only, and I mean only area I would recommend improvement is their booking application. Even if you book online, you must call to change the appointment. Each franchise, I'm sure, has zero control over how the website works and integrates to them locally - so this is really scraping for a criticism. I gave them 5 starts for good reason - great value, outstanding service, and great results. I booked a carpet cleaning for 4 bedrooms on the app; which is very easy to use and understand the cost - I chose "deodorize" for the room where there is a pet and standard cleaning for all 4 rooms. A great value at a little over $50/room on average - and the appointment took about an hour or so. ($169/4 rooms plus $25 for 1 room plus 7% sales tax) Great results and the technician did a great job communicating during the walk-through and performed exceptionally well. I highly recommend Stanley Steemer and will be booking them again. Tips: 1) select a service day when you have some flexibility. You will be given a "day of" appointment and booked for morning or afternoon the day prior. The team will call you when they are heading to your location (10-15 minutes notice in my case). You will not want to be hosting an event or party that same evening - if cleaning to prepare for a function at your home, book at least 3 days beforehand. I would suggest the week prior. 2) clear the path to the rooms you plan to have serviced. The technician will need to connect to your water line. There was zero mess from the hose extending from my front door, down 30' of hallway to the bedrooms. 3) in the rooms, clear as much of the floor area as possible - it's alright to let furniture remain, but I do not recommend moving the furniture for the cleaning during the application and also would suggest you not put furniture back in place or move any furniture onto treated areas for 1-2 days after the appointment. 3) immediately upon completion, your carpeting will still be a bit damp - walking on it is fine, but I'd suggest removing shoes and socks and allow cleaned areas to air dry and if you selected the "deodorize" treatment, plan to let the room air dry for 1-2 days without any fans or other air movement. The rooms which were only cleaned dried quickly - within 5-6 hours 80% dry, and nearly 100% dry by the next morning. 4) if you have pets - secure them during the appointment. Your access to the home will need to remain open a bit to allow the equipment to continue from your water source to the locations being cleaned. We put our cat in her tent when we got the "I'll be there in 10 minutes" phone call.

This review is for the D Finest Air Duct Cleaning branch that was SUPPOSE to service my town just…read morenorth of Boston, MA. I had a very similar experience to Megan K's. I scheduled this company to come to my house and two of my neighbors' houses on my one day off. They gave me a window of "2 pm to 5 pm". They never called during that window, and when I called them at 5:30, they told me that the technician cut his hand and had to go to the hospital. When I asked why I wasn't called and informed of that, the office woman said "We couldn't reach him until just now". I rescheduled and requested that I be the first appointment in the morning, and was told "we have a window of between 9 am and 11 am". I pointed out that if I was the first appointment in the morning, I expected the technician to be there AT 9 a.m.! The office woman said "It doesn't work that way. When you make an appointment with the cable or phone company, they give you a window, don't they?" Exasperated, I said, "NO! Not when I am the FIRST appointment of the day!!!" She said they would do their best to be there at 9 a.m. Unfortunately, I had to reschedule again, and got another "2 p.m. to 5 p.m. window". At 7 p.m, the tech called and said he'd be there within the hour. At 8 .m., I called the office and got no answer. AT 9 p.m (!!!!) a nice, and apologetic tech pulled in and said he was given my appointment when the other tech "got tired and went home" !!!! The nice tech could not find my air intake vents, so he didn't clean my air ducts. He gave me his name and cell phone number, and told me to find out where the intake vents were and then to call HIM. I found out where the vents were (they were the ones I showed him and he said they weren't the ones) and called him and left 3 messages. No answer. I called the office today to reschedule through them. The office woman (different one now) asked for my zip code, and when I told her, said, "uh ... let me put you on hold for a second". She came back and told me that they no longer service my area. When I asked when that happened, she said, "Um, about 4 days ago." I called Groupon, told them the bottom line, plus my opinon about this company and they returned the price of the Groupon to me. This is a very poorly run operation! Avoid it entirely.

I purchased a groupon for Duct cleaning by this company back in July, and immediately called to schedule an appt. That first appointment, they called AFTER the window of time during which they were scheduled to arrive to report that the truck was having technical difficulties and they would need to reschedule me. Fine, we did. This happened TWO MORE TIMES. It is now mid-October, and moments ago I received my FOURTH phone call rescheduling my cleaning. Of course, having learned from the past I had called one hour into the two hour window to report that the technicians had not arrived and wishing to confirm that they would indeed be coming to my house and that there were no technical difficulties. I was assured there would be no problem and that the technicians would arrive in the next hour. Instead, 35 minutes AFTER the end of my appt. time my phone rang. I couldn't believe it. I told the caller that this was the 4th time this was happening and that it was simply unbelievable that a company could operate with such unreliable equipment. He put me on hold and came back to tell me that the technician was having "serious family problems." Well, I'm very sorry if they indeed are, but it sounds an awful lot like, "My grandma died, uh, again..." And if this was indeed the case, why wasn't I told when I called to confirm? "Mix up." And are you able to call the service provider directly to confirm they are coming? "Yes" Why didn't they do that when I asked them to? "Mix up." Unbelievable. I'm not sure if I'm getting this run-around because I purchased their service at a discount through groupon or if they treat all of their customers with such disregard, but it doesn't reflect well on them either way. You are warned. If you are looking for a company to treat you, and your time, with a modicum of respect, look elsewhere.
