Hoping to save someone the headache we experienced with Kyle's: We used Kyle's for about 10 months…read moreto help with caring for our disabled Mother. At the beginning, everyone at Kyle's seemed so kind and caring, and it was a great relief knowing our Mom would have someone there during the day to help with meals, housework, bathing, and transportation. We requested to have the same caretaker(s) come, understanding that she may have to have a couple caretakers, Kyle's said that wouldn't be a problem! After meeting with the caretaker (the first one) and observing her work with our mom, we were very impressed! As time went on our mom became comfortable with the first caretaker and we thought she was great! After 6 weeks, I received a call from Kyle's saying my mom would have a new caretaker coming for today, the original caretaker couldn't make it. We didn't mind, assuming it was a one time thing as Kyle's portrayed it to be. That's when Kyle's went from providing peace of mind to a nightmare! A few days later, we expected the original caretaker to come back, but to our surprise it was another new caretaker that was dressed in street clothes. When my mom called to let me know, I called Kyle's to figure out what was going on. When I called, I spoke with Michelle who was in charge of scheduling, rude, and always seemed to be the one to answer. She then told me that Mary would no longer be my mom's caretaker because she was requested by a client that was a "private pay client", which she was implying without saying was priority. I was thrown back and speechless by this, so I just asked for the Manager to get ahold of me when she was available. When I explained it to my Mom, she immediately started crying and tried (Mom has speech issues do to prior stroke) to call Kyle's herself, and all she could do is cry and say Mary's name over and over (heartbreaking), which Michelle at Kyle's responded by hanging up on her! A week went by with no return call, I again called Kyle's, and the same lady answered, saying the Manager wasn't available, that she would call me back. Never happened, couldnot be reached, I could tell she was avoiding us. I went to Kyle's, where I seen the Manager at her desk on the computer. I asked to speak with the Manager and was told she was now on an important conference call. I knew that to be a lie, but I just went on my way. Over the next months, we had several new caretakers come, we dealt with (almost) weekly no call no shows, our Mom's schedule being changed without us knowing or approving, caretakers that would refuse to do what was asked, such as take the trash out, dust, clean windows, easy stuff that they are suppose to be doing. It truly was like, that because we became "insurance paid" clients instead of "private pay" we were now at the bottom of the totem pole. I went over one day to check on my Mom, and the caretaker was TAKING A NAP on the couch! I didn't say anything to the caretaker, other than waking her up, but I let Kyle's know and sent them pictures of their caretaker asleep on my mothers couch! A few days later, my sister pops in to see how things are going, and the same sleepy caretaker was sitting at my moms table with her personal laptop and notebooks, making her personal grocery list and chit chatting with her boyfriend! By this point, having Kyle's services has become more stressful than helpful! I called and complained again, which they sent out yet another new caretaker(Tammy, who later told me she was best friends with Michelle), who would say rude remarks, and complain about stuff like if the sink was full of dishes (1 side), she would say " I can't do all these dishes, I know these aren't all from just you!" (My Mom has a dishwasher), if my Mom's 12 year old grandson would be over to visit, she would say "I'm not cleaning up after no kids". It was to the point that my mom (who could barely walk) would struggle to load the dishwasher before came, just to avoid hearing her complain! Some days the caretaker would be our Mom's only human contact, and she wanted it to be positive (which wasn't Tammy), bc when she would complain, it would obviously make Mom very uncomfortable. The last straw with this caretaker was when I came by to bring my Mom's prescriptions, and she wasn't home, I called her and she said she was watching a movie with the caretaker. I thought wow, the caretaker actually took Mom to see a movie, a few days later after talking with my Mom, I discovered the caretaker didn't take her to see a movie, she was taking our Mom to her house, setting her in front of tv, while the caretaker was doing her personal house chores! I complained, it was swept under the rug, and yet another new, under trained, unprofessional caretaker began to come out. I told Kyle's that I would only need their services for 30 more days, that I would switching companies, Kyle's immediately quit, as their last screw you! Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't trust Kyle's with a goldfish!
