What we liked: Just about everything about our room on the way east. We were fortunate enough to stay in the limited number of rooms with both inside and outside entrances. If you are a big family or just have a lot of luggage be sure to ask for a room with an outside entrance. The rooms are clean and odour free. They had everything we wanted or expected. The room on the second night, or the return trip had a queen rather than king bed and no outside entrance, but it was bigger with a sofa. The rooms both had microwaves and a small fridge. The second room TV had Roko (is that the right spelling) so there were lots of stations to watch on the TV: it's a big TV too. We liked the larger bottles of shampoo and soap as there's much less waste as compared to the disposable type usually found in hotels. We both got a bagged continental style breakfast. The breakfast included a croissant with ham and cheese, a small yogurt and your choice of an apple or orange. This might change when the pandemic is over so if you are reading this in the post pandemic future please consider leaving a review to provide an update on the breakfast situation. Speaking of the pandemic, they seemed to take it very seriously. They have WiFi. What we didn't like Don't eat in the pub. It's a nice place for a beer so you don't have to drive afterwards but the food is sub-par. There's a separate review in Yelp for the pub so you can read it there. Last night our first room had some loud noise like the water pipe or something odd from in the wall. I might have put up with it but my wife told the front desk about it and they gave us another room a few doors down the hall. It was fine. We also couldn't get the TV to work in the first room but I'm sure it was just a setting somewhere. I can easily recommend staying here for your stop in Swift Current. Tip: after they quote you a price, ask for the Covid-19 special. They gave us quite a discount.

I want to give a shout out to Paul, the breakfast attendant. I stay at Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Expresses nearly every week and I have never run across someone so engaging and attentive as he is in the breakfast area. Hats off to him! Well this was a find!! There are all kinds of small surprising campgrounds in towns across Canada…read morethat pop up once you start looking, and when we weren't in the path of a provincial park and the baby was hitting a wall, well, we were looking alright! The campground at Kinetic Park is so cool because there are just a few spots to camp and you pay by dropping your money in a box next to the sign in book, and you're literally right in the heart of what feels like a country fair, exhibition ground. If there had been a fair going on these would have been prime spots and probably filled up earlier, but it was pretty quiet when we rolled in. The bathrooms were super clean, flush toilets etc, just perfect for our purposes. Nice little sites with trees and services for campers. We got to roam around and enjoy the amazing heritage architecture that's been gathered on these grounds under the banner of Doc's Village - an amazing little portrait of life on the Canadian prairies over the last 150 years. Even the more 'modern' buildings are like 60s era, kind of brutalist vibe, and then all there lovely old barns, it would be so dreamy to be here for a country fair. If I were doing Yelp events in Swift Current this would be one of my dream venues. The only reason I docked a star really wasn't the fault of anybody at the park grounds, but in the middle of the night a car came joyriding in the lot right in front of the campsites, whipping around, screeching wheels and tires, blazing lights through our windows and scaring the bejeezus out of us thinking they'd lose control and fly into us. It lasted so long and seemed so out of control and drunk that we eventually called the police, which of course is when the car took off. It's possible this is a regular place for Swift Current teens to blow off steam (I can see myself drawn to the old buildings at night if I were a kid out here) so that's the reason a dock a star and offer a caution for other travellers. Hopefully other yelpers can speak to other experiences of this sweet spot!

This was one of our favourite campgrounds on our roadtrip, maybe because it was so unexpected. We…read morefound it online, it was the right distance from Riding Mountain on our way West, and driving towards it we knew it was going to be great. The road rolls through these big green unexpected valleys cutting through the prairies. We moved through a fast and spectacular storm, and got to registration as the sun came out. The ranger gave us a remote and beautiful site near a bathroom, and charged us almost half of what Provincial parks in Ontario and BC charge. We loved walking through this incredible landscape, rushing river, cacti and evergreens in the same crazy place, prairie wind whipping clouds through the sunset and keeping any bugs away, stars coming out in the great big sky, just spectacular. The next day we went to check out the beach on the other side of camp. It was nice but a bit more industrial in its view, and more crowded with trailers. We decided to hit the road. We had a totally magic night here and would definitely try this campground again.

We arrived at 7:30 in the evening after a long drive from Edmonton. Having never been here before…read moreand since it was a Sunday night we were not surprised to find the campgrounds in the park were nearly empty and what appeared to be a registration booth was closed. It could be the same in BC or Alberta. We found a site in an empty area and set out to raise the tent trailer. It's a good thing the campground was nearly empty because there were few trees and therefore little privacy. I set-up the trailer while my wife drove back to get a park pass ($10.00 per night) plus pay the campground fee ($20.00 per night). Once I had nearly finished I received a series of texts from my wife saying that we are in seasonal area that is not rented out nightly. The registration guy wanted us to move to one of the empty sites across the access road. They were identical in all respects to our site except for even fewer trees. She explained to him that it's very hard to move a tent trailer once it's set up. He responded that we still must move from the group of empty sites that we were in to the area around 30 meters away. Finally after pressing her point he agreed that nobody is going to be using this spot tonight but tomorrow we must leave or move. We liked this location but there's nothing special about the campground; no showers, just two toilets with solar motion detection lights only worked in the daylight (they were very clean though) Nowhere were there signs suggesting that these are "occupied" or seasonally leased sites. This is not how you promote Saskatchewan tourism. On a more positive note, the river is nice, and for southern Saskatchewan, most would consider this to be a well treed area. It's far enough from major roads to be quiet. We did move the next day as they requested. But we moved to a a private campground near Swift Current. For $20 we got showers, Wi-Fi, etc. We didn't like Saskatchewan Landing but others might. See also tips as we had a unique experience when we lowered the trailer.

They didn't have the car I ordered so they upgraded me to a very large suv. As well as took 50. 00 off the drop off fee because it was a 1 way rental to Regina. Very helpful and friendly!
