They did not know how to roll a patient to give a bed bath, they didn't know how to place a patient in the bed so the patient did not slide down. I had to fire a caregiver for not changing her gloves after cleaning up a bm. Her boss was called the first time she did this but he said nothing to her. The second time she spread feces all over the bed with her dirty gloves. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. I dealt directly with Jared Bowler, the director of the company. I signed the contract, provided credit card payment information and was told that everything would be handled. I was given a login to their website to leave instructions and information about his needs. I entered all the instructions and never heard that there was a problem. On the morning of the first day they were to provide service no one showed up. I texted Mr. Bowler twice with no reply and finally was able to reach him by phone. He told me he had no one to take care of my father. If I had left on vacation as planned my father would have had no care and could have died. Mr. Bowler stated that I should just drop him off at a senior care facility! He said he had known in advance that no one would be available but he made absolutely no attempt to reach me. At the last minute a neighbor stepped up and volunteered to cover his meals for us. This completely made our vacation stress filled and miserable. I would never recommend this uncaring business.

Unfortunately they don't handle the billing. The billing department is a disaster. I have dealt with them since 4/2021 , to date they still are not crediting my monthly payment. They have us in precollections due to their inability to process payments. Optum bank sends a virtual payment as per their agreement. Optum says Intermountain must hold the payment for 30 days to have it revert to a paper check so as to avoid the agreed fees. Billing says it is 30 days before they can process payments. Still doesn't explain 6 missing payments. Looking for a different company to work with because of my frustration with Intermountain Healthcare billing.

Although I have never written an on-line review of a company before, my experience with Essential…read moreCare, St. George (several of the Utah franchises are apparently co-owned and operated) was such that I feel the need to reach out and warn other families in the broadest methods available to me. Please be aware that the specifics promised in the contract that you will sign will be the very most that Essential Care may be capable of, or willing to provide. That minimal contractual level of care was different than what is promised either by verbal agreements, the marketing brochures or the web site, and may not be adequate. Although we had some excellent caregivers, their desire to provide the best care for our loved-one was often impeded by those in ownership/management positions at Essential Care. Furthermore, some caregivers were provided to us that had either minimal or no experience or training, no background checks, and/or no real dedication to their profession. Our patient was placed at risk by the actual management practices of Essential Care and the problems would have been worse had my family not been so actively involved. Despite what was claimed, there was no training program provided by Essential Care. We provided the training while paying full rates to Essential Care. There was no standard in place for care, nor discernible provision to ensure adherence to any standard. To my understanding, Essential Care provided no benefits to their workers in our household, nor did I find the management responsive or pleasant to deal with after the contract had been signed. In the interest of brevity, I have not disclosed all of the problems that we encountered with Essential Care, but I must emphasize that I do not recommend this company - rather, I strongly advise against it.
