Our Administrator is a committed and empathetic leader in all ways, who is always ready to listen to our concerns and suggestions. I have always felt our Administrator and staff to be consistently friendly and open to any requests that I and my wife, who also lives here happily, have brought to their attention. I am a columnist for a major American newspaper and have always found the Administrator and staff members ready to encourage me in my writing. My wife is an accomplished artist and they warmly champion her work too. We are happy to see how they treat us as a married couple--we are almost certainly the only married couple to live in a nursing home in Pennsylvania-- and respect our desire to be together. It would truly be difficult to find a more wise or caring health care staff, nurses or aides, anywhere. The Activities Department workers motivate us with everything from our weekly Spanish club to truly regal holiday festivals. The dieticians take personal care of our needs and any special diets prescribed for us by our empathetic physicians. Our kitchen personnel are driven by a commitment to prepare for us the best meals possible--and always greet us with a friendly smile and hello! Our Physical Therapy professionals treat us as their dear friends and not as robots. The social services workers here handle our problems with compassion and skill. When we have had previous issues with our personal care, our rooms or laundry, pest control, or even any issues with the other patients, they have responded in a thoroughly professional and helpful way. The rooms here are thoroughly cleaned daily by our housekeeping personnel and the laundry department assures an adequate supply of linen each morning for the day. My wife and I feel blessed to reside in such a compassionate and forward-thinking nursing home.

I had to go into the hospital in the beginning of 2025 and she returned when they were under new management and I didn't get a single call while she was there. Only the ambulance company contacted me to confirm transportation. I sent her newly filled prescriptions with her and they threw them away, three 90 day scripts. My home health care provider went to bathe her and had to feed her and tell them she couldn't feed herself. Her discharge paperwork had 2 medical conditions that she never had, and they called me for the first time a over a week after she came home to ask if we had her mattress. She was transported there and back by an ambulance company. They were completely incompetent and I wouldn't trust them again.

She redeemed herself the last two days our dad was alive but I can't help but wonder whether it was because she learned who we knew or wondered whether we would sue her. Ultimately, he was there from the end of January until the end of March. We did not receive a diagnosis until the day before our dad died. We had been asking for months. If you must place a parent in a long term care facility, make sure that you visit often. Even the best care team cannot replace family.
