I dont like the new version! Businesses use to be able to get their money back if someone didnt accept their services, now HomeGuide doesn't credit the almost $10.00 that they charge businesses to pay to respond to a potential client that reaches out to their business. It'd be worth paying the $9.80 if the potential client accepted your services, but if a potential client reaches out to multiple business & each business responds to that person & the client doesnt go with your business your business is losing out on lots of money & on clients that dont accept doing business. HomeGuide ratings have dropped drastically; I use to use the HomeGuide app consistently & use to appreciate their help with finding clients but I am not paying what HomeGuide charges & if I dont get any clients through their app pay money out for nothing. Also I've heard that they are having issues with hacking & people acting as seeking potential clients & their not & that being the case HomeGuide is not refunding clients for fraudulent cases. read more

I'd suggest that Home Guide considers recommending and does better screenings before partnering with unprofessionals who are totally unprofessional, non communicative, dishonest third parties to consumers searching for independent contractors,not to mention that Home Guide gave a business 5 Stars, when in my personal experience with this Service Provider, one of their listed vendors who should not even be recommended by Home Guide! I'll definitely share my experience across all social media platforms and also reporting to Consumer Reports, the FTC and FCC regarding this Service Provider Ho is a "which Home Guide listed as a 5 stars Service, when it's totally not true as per my experience with this third party service provider!! Danielle from maids4moms she got paid 500$ and was in my house for 8 hours to not even deep clean my room, my sons room , a bathroom, a hallway, and a door. Don't waste your time or money. The state hired her to clean my house, so I didn't waste my own money but she wasted my only recourse for help. My house got bad due to mental health issues and my 5 kids living in the same house I was also brought up in. She did the walkthrough before handed the check, knowing she couldn't do it by herself. She has "allergies" to mold (which everyone does btw) so she won't deep clean windows that have that, so don't waste your time hiring if you have anything like that, she won't even touch it. Also went into things I asked not to, focused on a room I asked her not to, disrespectful and rude after she got feedback, all around horrible experience do not recommend. 2/10 for being nice to my kids. read more

After taking the time to fill out the profile I received my first customer request. That's when I noticed I had to pay for "Credits" to reply to the customer, even to ask for more information. I attempted to contact Home Guide on their "support" page, but the link does not send the message when you click it. If there as less than 1 star I would have used that as a rating. HomeGuide is worse than worse. I went on their site to ostensibly find out what the cost of a job I'm considering would be. That's how they made it seem. Stupid me! I gave them contact information, but never explicitly ordered them to provide my name to leads. I just assumed HomeGuide works like Angi, i.e., would provide a list of contractors who you could either contact on your own or through Angi. Instead, they sent my name and contact information to at least 2 companies. One texted me, and when I didn't text back, called me. The other company texted me at 9:30 am. When I didn't respond, he texted me at 12:40 pm berating me for not responding because he had to "buy the lead" for $12. Because I was unable to contact Home Guide (as others have stated in their reviews), so I texted the contractor back and apologized. I told him that I did not request that HomeGuide send my contact information to contractors; and although I was sorry that he "wasted" 12.00, his problem was not with me, but with HomeGuide. Terrible. Most leads don't respond back. Many will supply their contact #, but when you call them they become annoyed, or say they hired someone already which is a little fishy because at times I've responded as soon as I get notified of the lead, which is immediate, and get the # in a minute. It's not possible the lead sent their info and then hired someone within a minute. Very fishy. HomeGuide wants you to just keep shelling out money for leads, and I noticed many are repeat leads that keep showing up every couple of months. I got three customers in three years - and one customer was a complete a-hole. I hung on, and didn't get one new customer inn15 months. Not worth it. Don't waste your time or money. read more

This is a horrible company. We have used this company since they were called Thumbtack back in the day. This new company that took over has no contact info. The number listed is a disconnected number on Yelp so you can't even reach then for support. When you area on the website Home Guide you cant even click "SEND" after you type the lob explanation of what you need for them to contact you. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! Somehow this company has uploaded another companies logo on our site which we could have a lawsuit against us for misrepresenting our company as another and you can't even reach a customer service person to get this fixed?? What kind of company is this. Especially one that does not have a toll free number to contact anyone. I am contacting the BBB immediately. read more

Please be extremely diligent and use this site with caution. It does not appear to have any intricate verification or validation process for the contractors available which we learned from our experience when we hired Sodscaping and we were completely scammed when this contractor came out to our home and played to our vulnerabilities of us being behind schedule and over budget. He did come out to start work initially (looking back it was very poorly done and unfinished and for that alone would not recommend) and but promised to return w/ materials 2 days later and everything would be perfected in next phase on Thursday. He did not arrive for either. We became concerned and pressed for receipt of cash and Apple Pay upfront payments then he refused to work w/ us further telling us to find someone else. He would not issue a refund and instead said materials would be delivered ASAP but would not provide a bill of materials or what would be delivered or when. He threatened to have concrete poured at our house whether we were ready or not and file a lien for additional labor and out of pocket expense on materials but again would not provide details or receipts or payment confirmation. He does not appear to be who he says he is. There does not appear to be an office or skilled employees and he is not licensed in NC and he has not been in business for 8 years. He does not live at the residential address he used on his quote. He does not have any legitimate references and reviews are nonspecific and by non-identifiable people. Doing a reverse image on his photos will show that they many of them were taken from other professionals and not his own as represented. Shame on us but please learn from us! We were blinded and didn't take much to realize after it was too late - this site does not protect you and does not offer any recourse. Use with caution. read more

DO NOT PAY and LOSE LIKE US. We found a contractor through Home Guide, company named Sodscaping. After cheating several customers like myself the companies name is changed to Jedi Horticulture on this site. We paid about 45% of project cost as advance in June and he still hasn't started the work. First he didn't provide additional documentation requested by HOA, we managed to put together and submit ourselves. Once we got approval, he stalled us by not answering phones, after several attempts he said he had other projects he agreed after us that he needs to complete. After expressing concerns, multiple calls and text messages requestIng to give money back if he can't start working or give a firm date to start work, he gave a date for last week. I texted the day before he is supposed to come and he replied next day with another lame excuse. I usually do not write negative reviews as it might impact businesses for unintentional mistakes but this is very intentional and this company's contact is behaving like a fraud. I will come and change review if he does complete the project, if not he will have to face consequences for cheating people. Also he uses 2 names, Eric Butts and Arim Isabel claiming he and his twin brother owns business together. read more

Sodscaping is a FRAUD. The guy Eric Butts immediately responded when I was searching for someone to do irrigation in our yard on July 3rd. He kept saying he was going to come out and give a quote but never did. Then I texted him again on July 4th and he said he was coming that day and I told him we were going to be out and I would leave gate open. He claimed he came, but none of our ring cameras show him and we have cameras everywhere. He texted me on July 6th and said he cane out so he gave me a quote and said we would have to put down half of that for materials, so we did.$1500 on July 6th and he was definitely on time for that. He called 311 and had them come out to mark yard and he said the city would send us the meter. July 18th I texted him to find out when was he planning on doing the job since he told me he would come out as soon as they finished marking the yard, which was completed on July 9th. On Saturday July 18th he said he would be out on Wed or Thurs and of course I had to text him by Thursday to see what was going on and he said his Father passed away but didn't say when he would complete the job. I understand his father passed away but you still have to let your customers know when you will complete the job, it's called COMMUNICATION. If I could give a zero rating I would. Now we have to take out papers on him for not refunding our $1500. He tried to say our$1500 was non refundable because you can't give the city back their equipment. beware using this company they seem ok from the start , leads are more than a little iffy , but some customers will respond. as i said you can never reach customer service , so for get that option , they will never return or reply to any of your emails , so to resolve an issue is non existent .also they will auto purchased credits on your card on file without any authorization or permission, even if you refused auto credits purchase . which is my pending issue at hand . before signing on with anybody for leads do your home work as most of these are so called companies are fly by night scammers . read more
