In the air I went landing squarely on my right side. At first I thought I was fine. I had pain but thought it would go away when the bruises went away. I was so wrong. The pain was there on and off, and then it was always there. It was the kind of pain that I learned to live with. I made adjustments around it. I slept only on my back with extra pillows in bed to prop up my legs. I had pillows tucked on either side of me so I would not turn over during the night because some sleep positions caused more pain than others. (My husband did not like that). Special pillows when I sat in chairs as firm chairs were unforgiving and caused sciatica pain. I had a special pillow for my chair at the dinner table. My insurance was not in their network so they offered me cash pricing for x amount of visits. I started going & loving it. Chiropractic care was helping with my headaches & sinuses. Then Feb. 2014, after going for several months to Chiro One, I was in a major head on collision, 3 car accident. I called Dr. Jason and informed him about the accident and told him that the doctors suggested I not go to the chiropractor until doctor visits & physical therapy visits were completed. I talked to him a couple times during my recovery time to get his opinion on certain things. Then once released, I tried to go back to Chiro One to complete my remaining visits that were paid for out of pocket. I made an appt, went in, was re examined, spoke with Dr. Jason; he informed me he didn't have time to look at my new x-rays until later and he apologized, but I would not be able to be adjusted same day, to make an appt for tomorrow, so I did. I received a call from Dr Jason the next day stating that he needed my new insurance info. I told him I would provide it once we were done with the remaining visits I had, he told me that he would have to refund my money or roll the value of the remaining appts into a new plan, because the previous plan was no longer valid. I said let me know what the cash refund would be and we could go from there. With a phone call back in less than 5 mins, I was told that my remaining visits were worth $252.00, but that I could not get a cash refund. I would need to give them my new insurance info and they would apply the $252.00 towards my deductible on my new insurance. This is not the way I would do business, nor do I believe this is good business.

As a 22 year old woman that had me worried, because I was in otherwise good health. It has truly been an emotional and physical battle for me. I felt debilitated by them and felt like I couldn't socially function anymore. I couldn't concentrate at work, I skipped classes because of the pain, and didn't want to go out with my friends, because I was always so fatigued. I was already through the ringer of the ENT doctor, and then at the time a neurologist. I was on a high dosage of seizure meds just to get the pain to stop. Then I felt numbing in my arms and legs (which was apparently normal) and felt very lightheaded, yet heavy. Not to mention a restricted diet. That medicine was concealing the pain and just hiding the problem, not fixing it. I knew that wasn't a sustainable option or lifestyle I wanted to live by. They said they could have a therapist stretch my neck. I don't have problems with my neck but I thought a little neck massage by a therapist would feel good. So, when I got there for my first visit, they showed me a leg brace they wanted to fit me for. It was huge and covered most of the leg from the knee down. For what, occasional knee pain? I said no thanks. Then I went for "physical therapy". It was run by 2 young disinterested guys who talked to each other and obviously didn't care about the job. They were definitely not therapists of any kind. Next I went for a few minutes to the supposed real therapists and I thought, oh good, now he's going to massage my neck. No way! He never laid a hand on me. Only did something with a board that I can't even describe because I don't know what it did. Nothing as far as I could tell. Next I went to the nurse who would give me a gel shot in the knee cap. She did this and at my second visit gave me some little shots around the knee cap. The next day I went to the mall and had so much pain in my knee that I was limping down bad I had to go home. That was my over $500 experience with this place. I was worried about their diagnosis of the knee I had no trouble with, that the knee cap was out of joint, so I went back to the real doctors at Northwest Community hospital and got a real unskewed xray and they said that knee was fine. I quit Body Works after 3 visits and asked for the return of my money. I had been told that my insurance and Medicare would pay most of it. Now they told me, well it's not really physical therapy, it's billed under chiropractic and Medicare doesn't usually pay for that, but we will see. Now after months of reaching out to them, they finally told me that after 3 visits my $500 plus dollars was all used up and that I owed them even more but they weren't going to collect it!
