Historic Holyoke Building is located in downtown Seattle Washington. Construction was completed in 1890 and was said to be the first permanent building in downtown Seattle after the "Great Fire" of 1889.
The building has five floors and is made of brick. Designed by architects (Thomas G. Bird & George W. Dornbach. The architectural design was " Victorian Commercial / with elements of Romanesque Elements".
Holyoke Building was named after "Richard Holyoke" who made his fortune in the timber industry. The building was totally restored in 1975 and was listed on the "National Registry of Historic Places the following year (1976).
Today very few such buildings remain standing outside of the Pioneer Square District with so much character and history !
