That's what we found here. It took me a while to get around to writing this, but I'm glad to be sharing good news about Pelham Funeral Home. They were respectful, warmhearted people who asked what we wanted, thoughtfully offered us options and didn't try to up sell like some funeral homes might. They're sensitivity was truly impressive, from start to finish. The funeral home is also nicely furnished, immaculate and well managed. We were impressed at what a nice multimedia presentation they could prepare with photos and memories. They were really dedicated, patient and helpful, using photos from various family members to craft some beautiful memorial booklets, related printed items and video screen images for the memorial/wake. Clive, a dignified, outgoing and very friendly man originally from Ireland, is the best. He was reassuring right from first contact and we actually enjoyed talking with him during the planning. We enjoyed his warm personality and clear interest in doing things right. That says a lot. Clive's colleague Hanah was also wonderful during all of the planning and at the funeral. She kept track of everything and, like Clive, treated us like friends. They're professional, warm and outgoing. If you're looking for a place that will do things right with class, respect and humanity, this is the place. They put us at ease, treated us like family and helped us all get through some difficult times. I am deeply appreciative of that.

It all started in the East Village of Manhattan, then moved north at the turn of the century. The business is currently run by 5th-generation great great great grandson, Alan Benedict, his wife Maria, and their daughter, Carrie Benedict, who run the business with true compassion, taking care of every detail seamlessly. The Benedicts have provided wake, visitation and funeral arrangements for both my husband's and my family over the years. We cannot thank them enough for their kind thoughtfulness, ease, comfort and professionalism during the most difficult of times. God bless.

He started as a church sexton, arranging funerals for members of his congregation. A generation later, America called upon his son, Charles A. Benedict, to arrange the funeral of President Garfield after his assassination in 1881. Charles answered his country's call again, in another time of sorrow, arranging the pallbearers for President Grant's funeral in 1885. Around the turn of the century, our family relocated to Eastchester, preserving to this day our independence as a family-owned funeral home. With a heritage of professional guidance, our company has earned the trust of people from many ethnic backgrounds, cultures, and faiths.
