Let me start with the fact that I have been getting my hair cut at one specific stylist for more than seven years, so when I found out she was retiring from the industry - devastated was an understatement. My schedule is extremely demanding and I don't have much time to spare, so scheduling flexibility is super important to me. Holy Moses's online booking system makes it SUPER easy to schedule, and they have early AM appointments on Saturday - which is key for me. I made a last minute appointment with Celina with hopes that she wouldn't destroy my hair that I have had cut identically for years. First off, the ease of scheduling and the parking is super easy. When you arrive it is a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The wait is always minimal and they have coffee - so I am good. Celina is super friendly, very easy to talk to, and most importantly - knocked it out of the park with my hair. She cut it PERFECTLY and totally has "the eye." My hair is thick, somewhat wavy, and hard to manage. She knew exactly what needed to be done for it to maintain its shape and to grow in the way I like. I have since had my hair cut by Celina three times and plan on sticking with her for all future cuts. So happy to have found someone new to keep my hair the way I like it! read more

I have been to Holy Moses twice. Once in April 2017 (before my niece's wedding) with James and then again in March 2018 with Garrett. Both times I was asked what I was looking for. I explained that the (for lack of a better term) parted comb-over I've had since before high school (nearly 30 years) was not working for me especially considering how thin my hair has become. I let them both know I was completely in their hands for anything different they wanted to try because I had no idea what to do. They both gave me the same basic trim so I could continue on with the barely there comb-over and the experience was over in just a few minutes. I received a decent haircut with less service that I usually get at Sport Clips at twice the price. I'm frankly a man with low confidence and no ability in fixing this mess. I came back the second time thinking that maybe the first time I just hadn't stressed how much I needed their guidance. I'm certain I made that clear the second time. I think perhaps I would have been given more consideration if I was younger, thinner, and a haircut away from appearing on a magazine cover. read more

Barber school has failed Andrew. This review should not reflect the kind of guy Andrew is because, I actually like him. He's a good kid. His skills, however, could use MAJOR improvement. I've asked for a taper and a taper normally handled with clippers. It seemed like he was afraid of using clippers and stayed cutting my hair with scissors. His haircutting ways left uneven patches around my head to the point of no return. I basically had to buzz it all off. A haircut at Holy Moses is definitely not worth the 30-sum dollars. It's price gouging. Quality isn't worth it. My suggestion for Andrew is to master the art of using clippers. You're doing yourself and your clients a disservice. Heck, practice on your friends. Get better at it. Couldn't say enough positive things about this barber shop, even if I tried. I've never reviewed a company on any site, although, after my experience at Holy Moses I felt compelled to let anyone I could know how great this place is. From the start of my experience I felt welcomed. For example, after checking in I was offered a refreshment. After declining, I waited for my barber in a cozy living room-like area. Justin showed a genuine interest in what I was concerned about in my hair, and within minutes I felt like I was getting more than what I paid for. While getting the cut, I felt more like I was at a social gathering than going to a place to get my hair cut. The conversation was more than open, and I felt like a friend rather than a client. Convenience (park right outside the front door), quality (the best haircuts I have ever gotten), and service (the absolute nicest people work here) says it all about Holy Moses. Justin is the pro's pro and is driven to please his customers - and he does time and again. Whether you are interested in a new look or to maintain an old one, Justin is meticulous in his craft. And craft is an apt description as you really feel that this is his calling, not a job. Plus, he's as nice a guy as you will ever meet that offers stellar conversation and music while you are there. I've had a long string of barbers and stylists that just couldn't get it right. I have very curly hair, which seems to baffle most hair dressers.
