Update: I recently had my second baby, and my experience with this office was just as great as it was last year. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During this pregnancy I was seen by both doctors as well as the nurse practitioner, and everyone was wonderful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The entire pregnancy went very smoothly, and I never had any issues. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Every question (labs, ultrasound, at home care, insurance/billing, etc.) were always explained clearly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Like last time, I scheduled my appointments early in the morning and never had long wait times. I can't speak for other times of the day, but mornings worked really well for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On the day I gave birth, I actually got to see both doctors, and I saw them again the following day. I have been to this clinic for a UTI 3 times in one month to get treated for an infection down there. Every time I went all they did was give me medicine and send me on my way not trying to find the root of my problem. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have seen Ms. Kadeja every time that I've went and I felt like she didn't care about my vaginal health at all because every time I came back with the same problem there was never a different solution and my infection has not gone away a month later and has only gotten worse.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went to another doctor today and she gave me medicine that would completely heal my infection because it has gotten "bad" since it's been a while that I've had it. I will not be coming back to this clinic because all they do is slap medicine on me as a patient without doing different testing or trying to find different solutions. PLEASE AVOID HOLY CROSS OBGYN - This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a clinic. They are always an hour late to prescheduled appointments. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The office staff is horrible, unprofessional, rude and dismissive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They force you to set up a payment plan for delivery without detailing the cost of services and refuse to give you a cost break down. The sonographer didn't even leave the room as I was told to take off my bottoms and the office staff failed to disclose that the sono was a vaginal sonogram. The doctors have called in the wrong prescription twice and they haven't cared about it. The office smells like cigarettes, weed and all you can hear is people talking loudly in the phone as they are waiting an hour for their appointments. The rooms are absolutely disgusting. Spilled soda on the floors, blood, urine on the walls. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The office manager Denice is pathetic and dismissive. Dr Maduka Odogwn 1010 N Beltline Rd Ste 101 Mesquite TX 75149 They really deserve zero stars. This would be a new Doc for me. (The obgyn that I had last year does not take Medicare.) After I established that they took Medicare, I gave them my info. The lady on the phone said she never heard of them taking Physician Mutual as a secondary. So I emailed her a copy of my secondary insurance card, front and back. Did not get the name of the person I spoke to... This got me concerned...so I called Physicians Mutual, they said that the provider does not file directly with the supplemental, they file with Medicare. Still concerned, I contacted Medicare, they said the same. At 4:27pm I received a phone call from Valerie stating that my birthday did not match with Medicare. After a few minutes on the phone, they got it straightened out. This leads me to believe that they must have entered something wrong. As they had the correct date of birth and the correct Medicare number from my card. Then I received a call from Valerie at 5:12pm. They said I would have to pay out of pocket because they were not familiar with the secondary insurance Physicians Mutual. I explained that they would not file with the secondary...only with Medicare. I was quite surprised by this. I spoke with Valerie, she said her billing manager Kristi said they would not file with Medicare at all. She apologized, but said if I want to keep my appt, I would have to pay out of pocket. That they would not file with Medicare because they were not familiar with Physicians Mutual (she said this several times). I also explained to her several times that they do not file the secondary. At 5:18 I called back and spoke with Valerie to see if they spoke with Physicians Mutual, they said they did, and that they were told the same thing that I was told, that they file with Medicare and not the secondary insurance. The Mesquite office requires you to keep scheduling an appointment for the same treatment even though you were seen less than a week ago, because they are money hungry vs assisting patients. A waste of time and money. Highly NOT recommended. read more

My first visit was great..I met with Dr. Cheema and she was great and through; she explained my options and how it would all depend on my ultrasound results for my fibroids and we scheduled appointment that day. The day of 2nd appointment I received an call about 3 hrs before to inform me that Dr. Cheema had called in and the ultrasound wasn't covered on my insurance. I kept the appointment and paid out of pocket b/c I really wanted to know what was going on with my body. Dr. O has no bedside manners and couldn't give me anymore information than what I already knew before I paid out of pocket. I will never deal with him again! Next day Dr. Cheema called and calmed me down explained the ultrasound results and the next step was a biopsy. The 3rd appointment Dr. Cheema was there to perform the procedure and she advised me to call the following week for results and next steps with her. I have now been waiting over 3 weeks for this lady to call me back. This place is horrible... stay far away read more

I never give anything 5 stars cause no where is perfect. Dr. O is a very short, to the point kinda man, and that's why I like him. He gets you in and out. He delivered my last baby, and I see him for my current pregnancy. If you want someone to go over every word of the pamphlet, hold your hand, overly explain. He's probably not for you. He does his job and gets out. I see where that can be problematic for some, but for someone like me that just wants to be done, he's a good dude. One thing I did like about this place is that they were willing to take me in. I called every and no one would take in anyone over 20weeks without medical care. The only thing I didn't like was the waiting time I had an appointment at 9:30 and didn't get seen until over an hour later. read more

I got new insurance for the year, so I was able to get a new OBGYN because my previous Dr. was horrible with getting back to me and their office was very unorganized. Like the other person said, I would give 0 stars. To make this as short as possible, Dr.Odogwa is not thorough with his patients. I have a blood disorder, which I had told him about from the beginning. Towards the time of being induced, he didn't remember anything about my disorder. He looked at me oddly and wanted for me to explain my disorder again. I am glad I switched doctors at the last minute because I found out with my disease I couldn't have an epidural and that was never explained to me by Dr.Odogwa not even when talking about the induction. I should have been seeing a high risk pregnancy doctor to begin with but didn't know that since it was my first pregnancy. Glad I had a professional doctor to tell me that towards the end because things could have ended badly. Not to mention, the office was dirty even when covid procedures were taken place. Not only was the people at the front desk super rude and noncommunicative I had to wait 2 hours passed my appointment time. When the Dr finally came in all he did was tell me he couldn't read the cds I brought in from a trip to the ER and told me to sign a medical release form and to come back when I can walk without a walking aid. He couldn't answer any of my questions because he didn't have my records from my pcp or the er. Any Dr that doesn't know how to read a cd is a Dr I have zero confidence in as they are most likely either incompetent or just flat out lazy. Avoid this place at all cost! read more

Dr. Maduka Odogwu gave me birth control without checking my other medications first. I took the birth control for over 6 months until one day I picked it up from the pharmacy and was informed by the pharmacist (Trileptal) the medication I was taking made my birth control less effective. I called the holy cross and asked if this was the case. I was told to come in to talk about other options. I made the appointment. I was scheduled for 10:15 but had to wait over an hour to talk to Dr. Odogwu. It was obvious by the waiting room they value quantity over quality. When I spoke with him he told me that yes it was less effective, but it wasn't a big deal. Not to mention I waited over an hour to speak to this man, and was treated with distain and he spent the entire time looking at his watch. It was as if my time was valueless. I have no issue with waiting if my time is respected, but it definitely was not. My sister takes a very similar drug that I do and was recently put on birth control pills as well. I let her know what the pharmacist told me. However, when she contacted her gynecologist she was told to use a different form of conception until they figure out what to do. However, Dr. Odogwu said no such thing and even implied that the effectiveness of the medication wasn't terribly decreased. I personally find it very serious that a doctor doesn't pay attention to the medication you are taking and also thinks it's fine for birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancy is fine when the rate of effectiveness is decreased. Especially when health circumstances are the reason behind not getting pregnant. Honestly I think he is a real piece of work and will not be returning read more

Had him remove my nexplanon implant. He left a gaping hole in my arm; never taped or sutured it up. According to Nexplanon's procedure for removal, Step 10 states: "after removing the implant, close the incision with a sterile adhesive wound closure." This did not happen. I was given a bandaid instead of surgical strips and then it was wrapped with gauze and a pressure bandage. I was told to remove the gauze and pressure bandage 24 hours and the wound will "drain and look infected" so he prescribed an antibiotic. A week later when the hole was in fact still not even close to closed and my antibiotics were gone, I went to my primary care physician where she informed me that this was all done wrong, it is infected and I should have never been allowed to leave with a hole of that size that wasn't taped shut. Even if this were normal, proper open-wound care was NOT educated to me. Thankfully as a nursing student I was prepared, but for someone who isn't, I feel sorry for. I just don't recommend. The whole thing was disorganized and now we are going on week two where I have to wait for this infection to clear up on a new antibiotic and my PCP will suture the hole herself while paying over $150 more to fix something that was easily avoidable. read more

I went to Dr. Odogwu late in my pregnancy and him and his staff were very attentive. They answered all questions that I had and made me feel comfortable. I informed the staff and Dr. Odogwu about my diabetes and he understood and decided to induce me so it wouldn't be any problems or complications.! Highly recommend this doctor. I really wish I could leave negative stars for this place. My first visit it took Dr. Odogwu 1.5 hours to see me only to talk to him for 2 minutes about an IUD. He didn't give me any information regarding an IUD nor provided an open conversation for it. The next visit is for my IUD insertion and it took 2 hours to see him. The next visit was for a sonogram to check for the IUD and that was done within the first 15 minutes of my arrival. The staff then told me to wait in the lobby so I could speak to Dr. Odogwu about the results. After an hour passes by, I ask the front desk when I will be called on since there was NO ONE in the waiting room!! She then proceeds to talk to the doctor and said everything came out normal. I waited an hour just to not speak to the doctor!! This place is terrible and I will never be going back. He should be ashamed of himself for providing this type of customer service. I would put 0 stars if I could. Dr. Odogwu and his nurse were completely rude and short. I explained to him that I was in a lot of pain from different symptoms I was having from my birth control and to please be extra gentle while doing my pelvic exam. Needless to say, it hurt so bad that I jumped and he raised his voice at me and told me that if I moved again it would hurt even worse so I needed to be still. So he did it again and it was so painful. During the pelvic exam he kept asking "did you even have a baby?" "Are you sure" "must have had a c-section because this shouldn't be bothering you" when I obviously told him I was having problems beforehand. He was very careless and not gentle at all. His nurse kept rolling her eyes and cracking smiles with every snide remark he made and never said a word to me that i remember. I brought in some lab results paperwork I had to see if he could explain it to me (because I'm not a medical professional and don't know what all of it means) and he said "why would you bring this to me? It obviously says it's negative. I don't know why you're asking me". The asked me to give a urine sample. The nurse gave me my cup and told her to come hand it to her when I was finished. When I was done, I walked out and held the cup out to her and she made the most disgusted look. She said "I'm not touching that... go sit that over there" when she literally told me to bring it to her. Very unprofessional and I felt completely torn down from this whole experience. On top of it they told me they accepted my insurance and then called for payment. I will never give them any money. I still think about this even a year later. I'm so glad he wasn't the doctor that delivered my child. Please don't go here ladies. read more
