What can I say? I love Holy Angels!! I was recommended through a family friend whose children attended Holy Angels a few years back. I toured the school 2 years ago when my daughter was in Preschool. My husband and I fell in love with the school instantly. I was greeted by the Principal Sister Leonarda who provided an overview of the school.
Sister Leonarda was very warm and welcoming. She gave us a grand tour of the entire campus. I did not expect to visit every single classroom from K to 8 but I was so glad we did. In each classroom there were at least or 2 students who were the ambassadors to their class. The students gave me an overview of their curriculum and their projects they were working on. The students and teachers greeted us as we entered their classroom and also as we left. The children were so sweet and even told my then 4 year old daughter that they hope to see her soon. They gave my daughter a muffin and milk at the end of the tour which was very kind.
Safety: There is only 1 entrance into the school. During school hours the gate is locked and can only be opened by the office secretary. Several cameras are placed throughout the school to ensure the children's safety. Parents receive emails and texts for any emergencies that occur or if there is a school drill.
Curriculum: The school offers religion, math, reading, spelling, language arts, art, science, music, dance, computer, PE, history, and social studies. They teach Catholic values, the importance of prayer, and also to strive to do their best.
Location: Next to the Colma Bart Station. Great location especially for those who do not drive (my mother takes BART from SF to pick up my daughter every day). If you drive drop-off is fast and easy. You can drive into the school and the children are assisted by a wonderful staff member named Jose. He opens the car door as the cars pull up and he helps the kids with their backpacks.
Lunch: Hot lunch program which is optional at $4.25 per day. You pick the days. Examples are Fil Am BBQ, lumpia, pancit, sisig, spaghetti, teriyaki chicken, fried chicken, quesadilla, bean burrito, Mc Donalds, etc.
My daughter has attended Holy Angels for 2 years and is currently in the 1st grade. I know that we have made the right decision for our family and for our daughter's education. The teachers and staff genuinely care about every student and it is apparent when my daughter comes home everyday with a smile on her face. I know that I am sending my daughter into a loving, caring, safe, and nurturing environment. I'm glad to be part of the Holy Angels family. read more
