I have been on suboxone for 2 years and decided to leave my last doctor due to him pressuring me for additional medical treatment (like endoscopy's and ultrasounds...even though they could never give me a reason why. I don't have stomach issues and my blood work was normal) Anyways, I made several phone calls to this office to inquire about services and A LOT was left out and not mentioned to me. I was told since I was currently on suboxone, I wouldn't have to pay the initiation fee and would only have to see him monthly. I ran out of my meds early (because I was stockpiling them from my last doctor because I wanted OFF suboxone and he wanted to keep me on so I was tapering myself. Made it about 6 months without seeing a dr so you can just tell by that how much I was being over prescribed and how serious I was. I dropped from 16mg to 2mg on my own) When I arrive (Which by the way I live in Murfreesboro and have severe driving anxiety so getting to his office was a nightmare for me) I went over with the front desk lady about what my counselor told me and refused to hand over the $450 to her until she promised me that the doctor would do PA's. Without a PA my script it $600 which is over half my monthly income. They assured me oh yeah, yeah, we do that. I MADE THEM PROMISE THAT TO ME BEFORE I GAVE THEM MY $. Lies. As soon as I was taken to the back, Dr Reedy deemed me in withdrawal (Yeah. I told you that) and wrote me a prescription for FIVE PILLS. FIVE PILLS FOR $450 DOLLARS. You can get it cheaper on the streets and that shows right there how messed up that is. He told me I would also have to see him IN PERSON weekly for $150 for the first month. He told me he was unable to write me a 30 day script because I would relapse. Uh...how can you say that when you have literally just met me and I've been getting 30 day scripts for 2 years? I have not relapsed since started suboxone 2 years ago. He also told me I had to get on birth control (oh yay another bill I can't afford!) which was left out to me when they were telling me the rules over the phone. I use condoms (with my 5 year fiance), to which he replied "That isn't 100% effective" I told him my boyfriend is a BC baby (which is true) and I just spent 2 years trying to figure out why my periods are irregular and so horrific and am currently paying off 2k in medical bills with still no answer and was deemed infertile. Dr. Reedy didn't care... He also had me spent 4 hours in his office. He spent at the most 25 minutes with me and then had the audacity to tell me "I SPENT SO MUCH TIME WITH YOU BE GREATFUL" not those exact words but that's where he was coming from. Anyways, I go to the pharmacy with my 5 pills to get myself out of withdrawals and they tell me the doctor won't budge on the PA. I call them & they tell me they NEVER do PA's. They lied directly to my face. I never would have been a patient if I had known that (and straight up told them that) My mom is a big wig at an insurance agency and was concerned about why he was avoiding the PA's so bad. She told me a lot of sketchy doctors do that because they don't want to get in trouble with insurance for doing messed up crap. I spent all weekend in withdrawals (Even though I told him it makes me suicidal. The last time I went through bad withdrawals over 8 years ago I tried to kill myself & was in a coma for 8 days and almost died...) Eventually I couldn't take it anymore and paid out of pocket even though my meds would have been free with insurance. The most alarming thing he did is that I am also prescribed xanax. I am aware most doctors are not okay with that in sub programs and told him I obviously needed to taper off it. He did nothing. He told me to stop taking it cold turkey WHICH COULD KILL ME. Right when he said that I knew he had no idea what he was talking about. That's the thing. I don't think he was being malicious. I think he is completely uneducated on addiction and all they have to do to become "specialists" to prescribe suboxone is to take one 8 hour ONLINE CLASS. Kind of crazy when you think about that is all that is deemed necessary to treat one of the worst & hardest addictions Stay far, far away from him if your looking for sub drs. I cannot comment on any other treatment he does but anyone who tells someone who has been on xanax daily for over 4 months to quit cold turkey is a lawsuit waiting to happen. He is going to kill someone someday or cause someone to relapse as he obviously isn't educated on these drugs. I am trying so desperately to get help off this medication and am literally being screwed from everyone directly. He was by far the worst I have ever seen. Luckily, I have a new doctor who seems to know what he is talking about. If you are considering this dr for suboxone, RUN!!! RUN FAR AWAY!

Walking in, I was immediately met with a barrage of paperwork focused on billing--making sure charges are clear to them, not to you. Not exactly the warmest introduction for someone seeking mental health support. The next interaction was just as impersonal. After giving my name, I was directed to step on a scale and provide measurements--no introduction, no explanation, no basic courtesy. It felt more like processing inventory than welcoming a person. Then came the actual "care" session. The provider launched into a rapid-fire explanation of all the ways the clinic can bill you, delivered with the energy of a fast-talking sitcom character. She shared that she knew I had already been given all of those details though just wanted to recap again. Then, she told me why she thought I was there which was not accurate. I asked her to slow down and please take the time to have dialogue instead of talking at me. She never asked meaningful questions or or make a genuine attempt to understand why I was there, which made any real conversation about mental health impossible. Overall, the experience felt dismissive, disinterested, and transactional from start to finish. The caregiver, in particular, seemed better suited to a role with minimal human interaction - perhaps guarding an empty museum wing, because meaningful engagement was clearly not part of the approach. I am genuinely appalled and disturbed this clinic presents itself as having any aptitude in mental health care. None of them demonstrated an ounce of intellectual curiosity or communication skills which should be critical in caregiving roles.

Dr. Oldfield was recommended to me by another doctor during a completely unrelated visit. I have previously visited another doctor in the same building but she is so fantastic that it became a challenge to see her so I decided to give Dr. Oldfield a chance instead of making an appointment with my previous doctor. When I made the appointment, the person on the phone acknowledged that I used to be a patient of another doctor and I confirmed. I updated all of my information, made my appointment and anxiously waited (I am a PCOS patient and I've been dealing with some stressful symptoms so I'm VERY nervous and ready to get everything under control). I received a call confirming my appointment 3 days prior- everything seemed fine. Long story short, I showed up and was informed that I have a balance due ($324) from my last doctor that I haven't been to in YEARS. I had NO idea. I offered to make a payment and apologized but I was also confused as to why this wasn't mentioned when I made an appointment almost a month ago. She gave me a statement of my charges which was from 2012... I was beyond confused and embarrassed! She said that a partial payment may not be enough but she said the doctors do make accepting so she would ask Dr Oldfield and see if she would still see me. So I sit down, fill out ALL of the paperwork to be called back up and told that Dr. Oldfield refuses to see me until I pay the full balance. It took everything I had not to burst into tears!!!! I had been waiting for this appointment, had NO idea that there was a balance due and then $324 was holding me back from getting treatment that I desperately need???????? You have GOT to be kidding me!!!!! This doctor cares so much more about such a minuscule amount of money than treating her patients!!!!! I walked to my old doctors office and they were floored. They confirmed that it was wrong for an appointment to be made without telling me about the balance due, and that the doctor shouldn't have turned me away- ESPECIALLY over such a small amount of money! They felt terrible and they confirmed that my account was in a category that would have prevented me from getting statements- there's no way I could've known that I owed anything still. They allowed me to make a partial payment and schedule an appointment. I am appalled and so disappointed in doctors like Elizabeth Oldfield who obviously think that the value of such a small balance is much more than the health of their patients. My recommendation would be to avoid this office if at all possible. There are so many other doctors in Nashville that won't make you feel like dollar signs are more important that your health. Dr. Oldfield, you should be ashamed of yourself.
