Never a 'dull' moment here!…read more Today I took refuge from the humid summer heat at the library, with hopes of finding a good read and maybe a nook at which to read. But I was pleasantly surprised when these hopes were not only fulfilled but were well surpassed. In addition to a few books to check out, I brought two dull, good-for-nothing pencils to the librarian at the counter and asked if they had a pencil sharpener I could use. Not only did the library have a sharpener, but the librarian did the sharpening deed for me! She kindly took my pencil offering and spent a few quick moments with the machine. Soon after, she presented me with two PERFECTLY sharpened pencils, ready to scrawl the finest-point script on the nearest slice of paper. It had honestly been months since I'd seen these pencils looking so fine. I feel like a new man. I wasn't charged for the books I checked out, nor for the express pencil-sharpening service I received! 5 stars, will come again. Highly recommended.

When I asked her about said miscreant, she informed me that "he just does that". Like rules don't apply to him because he's a walking fossil. Forget about students trying to study or people trying to concentrate and work, or even PEOPLE TRYING TO READ. IN A LIBRARY. Absolutely ridiculous. Shame on your staff.

I am amazed that a small town like Trempealeau has such a nice library. The building seems on the…read morenewer side and possesses a welcoming vibe. They have computers for internet access, and plenty of newer materials to check out. One neat detail I saw is that you can rent out of the ordinary items here, like metal detectors and record players?! I'm commuting from out of town and the librarian was very friendly and helpful when setting up my account.
