I had him return to paint my master bedroom, master bathroom, laundry room, and my children's bathroom. He did bring someone with to assist him, which is no problem so I'm not quite sure if the issue is with the original painter or the help. The problem I ran into is I have textured walls so I know they are a little bit more difficult to get a good coverage with paint. However, I had to go back and do quite a few touchups and even now a few months later, I am noticing spots that need to be touched up as well. I did not have this problem with the original first job I had him do. This second job was much bigger. He also did not remove light fixtures or blinds or curtain, rods, etc. like a previous painter had done so now when I have gone to change light fixtures, I now have to repaint the ceiling, etc.. It is unfortunate because I was going to have him paint the outside of my home as well, but with this change in quality, I am concerned. The first job I would give a five out of five the second job I would give a two out of five so well average out for 2.5 He did say when he was finished with the second job if there was any areas I wanted him to touch up, he would return, which I feel is great on his part but I also don't feel like I should have to pay someone to come back to finish their work.

I had started this job myself but wasn't able to finish it cause I was too busy and just decided a pro to do it, so about 30% of the trim was already done before him starting, and it was well understood, I wanted him to finish everything and complete the job for me. When I was doing a walk through, after he said he was done, I pointed out that a lot of nails were sticking out and they needed to be hammered in, and that some of bullnose cuts looked really bad. He said he'd fix those things, and about 30-45 mins later he came back to me and said they were and had me pay. I trusted him and didn't look at the work, and he left. When I went back downstairs to look, I noticed he didn't fix those things. The bullnose corners still looked bad and lots of nails were still sticking out. Not to mention places that hadn't been caulked and damage he did to my walls. I texted him as soon as I saw all these things and he never replied. I waited till after Christmas and contacted him again asking he if he'd fix what he said he would, or if not, I'd leave bad feedback on the site...and he never replied. I paid him $560 which he gave me a "paid in full" receipt for. As you'll see with the pics I've uploaded, he never contacted me back. Thumbtack tried to reach out to him and have him complete the job the right way, but he never contacted me and never wanted to make things right. Thus, why I recommend that you not hire him for anything. I ended up spending about 5 hours fixing all the mistakes he made, some of which I didn't take pics of, but should have. The whole experience was very frustrating, and I would never wish that on anyone else, thus I've left such a long review.
