****Please note that I am writing this review from the perspective of a potential candidate being hired out and not a representative from a company hiring one of Hollstadt's consultants. First let me note, that one of their representatives sought me out and contacted me due to my experience in the field of project management. I talked over the phone and was sent a link to a personality test. I was then invited to come in to discuss my experience in more detail. I spent over an hour there being given their sales pitch on how great it is to work there and how they value integrity. I was asked very few questions on my background, methodology, and tools I used. They were honestly more interested in bragging. Towards the end of the interview, I was told that I would receive emails about positions available and would eventually come in to do a video interview to present to potential clients. All seemed well and positive. Much to my surprise, I received an email the very next day letting me know that I was not going to be considered for any positions due to further research and what she called my "scattered work history." Let me tell you that this is a complete 180 degree turn from my leaving their office and I have to ask myself what the heck happened and why they suddenly did the bait and switch. I thought this was rather unprofessional and took me by complete surprise. Again, they sought me out so perhaps they should have asked more careful questions or took a different approach all together. I would not recommend this firm due to this experience. read more

I have worked for Hollstadt & Associates for 1 1/2 and love working for this company. They pay attention to their consultants, keeping in touch personally every quarter with visit to make sure my consulting job is going well. They stay on top of my contract to make sure there are no issues. They also offer a lot of training opportunities and I have been trained and used my Scrum Master Certification multiple times at my client. I have also been able to attend soft skills training which is really important when you are working with a large organization such as my client. I would highly recommend any PM's or BA's to strongly consider talking to Hollstadt & Associates. read more

First, I'm surprised by the two negative comments about Hollstadt & Associates, but I'm not surprised that only complaints are reported on Yelp!, and no compliments. I'm here to report honestly that I've nothing but respect for H&A. My experience in their office and with their staff has been exceptional. My background check was thorough, and they asked for details in the couple cases where my previous contracts were shorter in nature-as noted in the other reviews, they know how to spot these. The key point of contact is the Receptionist, Bobbie (very sorry if I've misspelled your name!). You are wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and you put a great first impression on potential candidates both on the phone and in person when a candidate arrives. Moreover, Rick Hults is exceptional at what he does, and I've had the pleasure of working with him a few times over the years-seems we cross paths from time to time. He's timely, knowledgeable of team's clients, and takes the time to get to know the candidate personally and professionally to create a great fit for all parties. H&A does not accept candidates out of desperation. On the contrary, it practices what it preaches and seeks candidates who are professional and outstanding at what they do, and additionally that we do this naturally with "humble confidence." These are values that resonate with me and which they hold true in their practice. No one's perfect, but I can't think of any complaints. They are there for their contractors and honestly care about us-it's in their best interest from a financial perspective, but they go the extra mile to check in and keep in touch. Everyone knows contractors like to gather new experiences and jump ship when things aren't going perfectly. I have the good fortune of working with and for Hollstadt and continue to do so. In writing this, I am rating Hollstadt based on a few factors; integrity, making you feel like a valued member of the team, and being responsive to your needs. I respect the fact that the company works in a competitive marketplace and that their ability to be successful relies on business cycles, relationships, and their ability to deliver to customers that have a choice on utilizing Hollstadt or going to a competitor. From my very first interaction with the company, I have enjoyed the people at the corporate offices and how they communicate with you. They are genuine people trying to do their job and at the same time, trying to work with you so that you can do your job. They have always been honest and acted with integrity towards both me and in dealing with the company where I am assigned. This integrity driven approach allows us to be consistent in our messages and approach. The company funds continuing education in your knowledge area and also maintains an active continuing education regime to allow you to continue to grow. The continuing education efforts allow you to maintain your professional skills and to be on top of industry changes. Hollstadt also embraces and allows you to be an individual and treats you with respect. My observation of their actions when difficulties arise with employees assigned at companies is that they are proactive and seek to resolve conflict to the best option of all. While this might mean pulling people off an assignment, it is understandable when you consider situation. Hollstadt is a good company and is a great place to work. read more

I have worked for Hollstadt & Assocates for almost 2 years. This company treats employees with respect and really value our skills and values that we use at Hollstad & Associates clients every day. There are many training offerings that keeps consultants current in the market place. Consultant's, beware of using this firm. Especially beware of their non-compete agreement. This agreement has no benefit for you (the consultant) and results in WAY too much control for H&A. Basically, the agreement prevents you from getting hired through a different firm for the period of one year at any client where H&A officially submitted you as a candidate (with your consent)... You do not need to interview with the client (through H&A) for this to take effect. Here's what can happen if you sign this agreement... H&A could ask for your permission to submit you as a candidate to a specific client despite knowing your chances are low (maybe they are submitting multiple candidates for example). Once you approve this submission, they OWN you at that client for 12 months. I cannot find a single firm that does anything like this. Their entire business model is to "trap" their consultants and limit their options in order to increase your likelihood of landing an opportunity through them. From my experience, they care A LOT about themselves and VERY LITTLE about their consultants. When visiting their office, the interviewing manager practically feel asleep as soon as it was my turn to talk. The opportunities presented to me during my short experience did not match what I was looking for. Also, for those that care, H&A is not very corp to corp friendly. When I indicated to H&A my desire to work with a different firm, they immediately threatened me with the non-compete (I never even made it to a client interview). Luckily, they were too busy patting themselves on the back and not finding me worthwhile opportunities to realize I never signed their silly non-compete. Whew... That was close. CONSULTANTS BEWARE. There are much better options out there. read more
