They also have a great pond and aquarium section with all you need to kit yourself out from pond liner to tanks to filters and fish. There assortment of fish is amazing and the kids love seeing them even if not buying, they also have more exotic items for your needs. They have a large gift area with things for everyone, adults and children with pottery, jewellery, ornaments, accesories and toys, books and games. They also have a reasonable but standard craft supply section. There is a large section that is changed to suit the season and stocks garden furniture, barbecues, picnic sets or as is currently on display, Christmas items from trees to decorations and tableware. The cafe stocks snacks, hot and cold food, cakes and full hot meals or salads. Its a decent range with varying prices for items. Outside seating is also available along with a play area for children and a resource centre you can get some great info from. They run demonstartion events throught the year for all different things and you can join their loyalty programme for a low annual fee and it gives you discount and 2 free coffees or teas a month. The instore deli is a delight and one of my favourite parts with cheeses, pates and speciality goods and a Broughs Butchers that stocks a great range too.

But saying that - this isn't B&Q or just some rubbish shop just selling plants and trees - it has everything you could want in life and was the perfect place to spend a wet and windy Friday off work with our 2 little kids. Here's the ace points: * A fantastic food hall serving food from local suppliers and so much tasty stuff - in house butchers, bakers etc * Huge Reserve Wines area with great selection of vino on offer * Possibly one of the best craft beer selections to take away - at least 30 different breweries from local to further afield. * 3 great cafes and one specialising in tapas and champagne - PIMP living! *loads of kiddy activities and sand pit etc, great kids toys shop * loads of plants and outdoorsy stuff it that floats your boat... * Good quality coffee - proper sized flat whites... First up, there's plenty of parking although it can be a bit tight at the weekends are people try and park near the entrance - my tip is just head to the far end of the car park where there's usually space. Upon entering you have to follow a bit of an Ikea-esque route through various kitchenwares and foods, followed by gifts, clothing and cards. There's all sorts here not specifically related to gardens - if you're looking for a gift you might find what you want here. You then come through to the main indoor section, a big area of which is devoted to interiors and decorating, and the rest is a rotating selection based on the season. At Christmas they have a lot here and it's really popular. From there you can pass through to another indoor section which has house plants, animal and plant supplies and tools. The house plant section has really expanded over the last year or so and we've picked up some really unusual plants here for much less than we've seen them on sale elsewhere. Finally you come through to the outdoor area which has a huge selection of both plants and physical objects like fencing and paving. We've pretty much built up our whole garden with supplies we've bought here. You'll also find a "bargain basement" corner for reduced plants which are worse for wear - we've picked up some real bargains here. Finally there's also a restaurant. We've never actually tried it ourselves but it always seems to be busy and people seem to come here specifically for it. All in all, it's a great garden centre. Unfortunately with COVID you can expect to queue as a result, and the Ikea-like route at the start can be a bit frustrating if you're here for something specific for your garden.

Then outside there's the flowers, trees, tubs, baskets etc There's also a very good restaurant/cafe which serves breakfast, sandwiches, meals & lovely cakes. This is a very well designed space which feels surprisingly big as you walk around it. There's a good variety of flowers, fruit trees, shade plants and more for sale. There's a gluten free, vegan cafe on site. I saw a sign for vegan hotdogs, cakes and coffee when I was there but didn't sample anything. There's lots of seating at the cafe but also lots of little quiet spots with seating all over the centre. It feels like a community park as much as a business. There's also a 'schoolroom' with hay bales for the students. This place is not the cheapest garden centre but then your money is going to support a community not B & Q shareholders. Also all the plants are organic and in peat free compost.

It's a nice place just to have a wander around to be honest, there's far too much and too many things for me to list. It also has good parking, and good disabled access, as well as friendly and helpful staff.

Dessert special was treacle and strawberry tart, which according to the waitress was a treacle tart with strawberry jam on top - didn't feel I needed that much sugar in my life! The waitresses were all friendly local lasses and everything seemed to be running smoothly. There are also a dozen cabins in the grounds which house a variety of artisan craft and food businesses. A path leads you down into the garden centre proper pst displays of gazebos and summerhouses and a beautiful slate based water feature. Pimbo has literally everything you could want for your garden from hundreds of stles of decorative pots right to an ornamental bay tree shaped as an aeroplane.Round every corner is something new, water features, bedding plants, perennials, annuals, herbaceous plants, trees, fruit bushes, herbs, vegetable plants,ornamental grasses, hanging baskets,planters, stone gargoyles, sculptures - it is never ending. There are several huge greenhouses with all the tray plants in them and many more plants on trestles around the grounds. All the plants look well tended and it is usual to find a couple of staff members out watering and dead heading. There is also a range of garden furniture and aggregates of all kinds in large bags.after looking round all the outdoor space you end up in the shop area to pay for your stuff and find lots of other stuff - seeds, trellis, books, ornamental stuff and all manner of gardening bits and pieces. Pimbo also do a delivery service which is very reasonable cost wise and saves you trying to cart home large or heavy items.
