Rebekah truly went above and beyond! This is definitely her calling. She's really chill, but highly professional, keeps it real, and keeps the focus on what needs to get done today or this week, while at the same time she was more than happy to answer my questions about what to expect for the future. I tend to focus so much on the future I neglect the present, so I loved this approach, it's very grounding. We really felt cared for at every appointment and she took the time to get to know us and our story, and gave us lots of opportunities to ask questions. She really helped put my concerns to rest. I love her approach to the mental/emotional aspect of giving birth, and how your attitude towards birth is what really determines your experience. (Now that I'm on the other side, I can confidently say that's 100% true.) She emphasized that the contractions can't be stronger than you because they are you. I was nervous about the whole home birth process but talking to her put me at ease. The whole process of preparing and gathering all the stuff and getting the house ready was very empowering, and I can honestly say I actually enjoyed my labor (!!) despite the intensity of it. Her assistants were great as well. I feel really confident in my decision and I'd be happy to do it again.

Originally we had done most of out prenatal care at a birth center in Santa Rosa. Our family was…read moredisplaced TWICE during the Santa Rosa/Napa fires of 2017. My wife was at 40 weeks, and ready to go into labor at any moment. We were forced to head east in search of a midwife that was available to take us in on short notice. Needless to say, this was stressful for me & heartbreaking for my wife. I searched & called around from Los Angeles up to Sacramento. Most midwifery's were unwilling or unable to help us. Rebekah was willing to take us in. And for that alone, my family will always be grateful. Anyone reading this should take a moment to let it sink in what a kind act it was for Capital Midwifery to come to our rescue. I'd say it says everything about who they are but it doesn't. The other reviews listed here on Yelp aren't hyperbole when describing Rebekah & Danielle. There is more... Capital Midwifery are incredibly good at their job & their facility is excellent. And I can say that with credibility being that (due to the fires & other circumstances) we were now on our 3rd birthing-center of our pregnancy. My wife had gone into this extremely sad that she couldnt use the midwives she'd formed a bond with during most of our prenatal care. But then we met with Capital Midwifery, and we gave each other a crash course to get caught up & familiar with each other. Both my wife & I left the initial visit both feeling like we'd found the perfect midwifes for us. Personally, for me, I wanted a natural birth but I also wanted direct answers & advice on the various options of labor. Throughout the pregnancy I had struggled to get the sort of direct guidance I was seeking (that you would normally find from a doctor/hospital) but from a holistic background. In Rebekah & Danielle, that was no longer an issue. Whether it was their style, or the nature of emergency get-to-know-each-other, or that they picked up on my vibe and they adapted to make me feel comfortable with their direct approach & knowledge. Whatever it was, their style matched what I was seeking all along. That's not to say anything negative about our previous midwives. It's just that there was something I knew that was different from the very first phone call and at every step of the process my intuition was confirmed. Just days after getting acquainted & finding a short term apartment to rent my wife would go into labor. Rebekah & Danielle handled the entire process with grace & professionalism. 19 hours later our baby girl was born. Rebekah & Danielle were total pro's throughout. While the journey to meeting our daughter came with wild twists & turns at every stage, Im ultimately glad it did because we ended up sharing the final stage of the process with the best people for the job. Thank-you Rebekah & Danielle for EVERYTHING. I wish you nothing but success & happiness for the rest of your lives. As far as I am concerned you are the absolute best at what you do and anyone still reading this would be crazy to choose anyone but you if given the option (or forced into making the decision due to fires, floods, locusts, or a zombie apocalypse).

From our very first meeting, Tel created an environment where I felt comfortable asking questions, voicing concerns, and exploring all of my options. They consistently provided thoughtful, evidence-based information and resources, helping both me and my husband feel informed and confident in our decisions. What sets Tel apart is the way they combine deep clinical knowledge with genuine warmth and compassion. She was quick, efficient and you could tell she really knew how to do her job, but still took the time to be personable and answer our questions. Overall, the visit took 35 minutes, and that's with the wait time because we arrived early. Ridiculously fast, efficient and pleasant. Took us longer to drive there than the appt did.

For my anatomy scan of my final child, I was scheduled for an ultrasound at the Sutter Maternal…read moreFetal Medicine. This was an emotional scan for me as it was our first son and last child to join our family and I had wanted my husband there for support and also to be a part of that experience. I was told there was only 1 visitor allowed per their policy but that day my younger child was sick and older child did not have care early in the morning since daycare was closed. I had called at 7am about an hour before my appointment to inquire about keeping my children with me for the appointment and was told by the service person on the line she would speak to a supervisor and get back to me. A few minutes later the receptionist on the phone said it was allowed and she said noted in my chart. Ultimately she said it's up to the care team but she informed me the supervisor approved and was noted in my chart for the visit. I went at 8am with my children and husband and was told that I was only allowed 1 visitor nonetheless despite what I was told on the phone (despite my efforts to call early). The policy sign did not specify the age of the visitor and they told me that I could not even bring my older child despite her being well behaved at 6 years old bc they now said visitor had to be 18 years and older. This was extremely confusing to me as a patient and obviously I took time off work to come to this appointment and made it months in advance. The whole appointment from the front desk receptionist to the ultrasound technician-- they made it about themselves, not caring about what the patient thought, overriding me and implying I was the problem and said I was causing the appointment to run late and the technician said "I'm already rushed" even after I said "I'm sorry to rush you." The staff receptionist lead (I don't know her title, they don't introduce themselves but she was an African American lady) actually even blamed me and treated me as a child berating me saying "you need to put your phone down right now! Our policy does not allow FaceTime or phone calls. My staff can hear you from the hallway and it is causing danger to my staff." I was only talking to the ultrasound technician and expressing my concerns. There was no yelling on my part, just some sadness and soft sobbing. I didn't understand why there was no empathy. They blamed me for rushing their staff and causing their staff to be in danger telling me to take a deep breath and chastising me rather than calmly explaining the reasoning behind their policy or showing me the policy. Also the sign out front said "1 visitor allowed" but did not specify the age or any specifics involving children when there are no other choice for caretaking. What do single parents do? If the policy is so strict and enforced, the expectation should be laid out to the patient ahead of time and the clinic both failed to do so and on top of that blamed the patient. This is unprofessional and unacceptable, even after I apologized. I didn't feel like I had anything to apologize for. There is no empathy with the staff and they really did not have to tell me to put down my phone when I was not recording or FaceTiming or calling. I was quietly tearing up and crying the whole appointment, even though it was supposed to be a happy occasion. My baby was healthy and I was looking forward to it for months, only to be ruined on the day of by the unprofessional attitude of the staff who was not clear on the policy, creating strain on my family and my emotions, blaming me for not understanding and treating me like a second-class citizen. The clinic also did not offer options to reschedule but just said "you can choose to go to a different place if you want but we have this policy here and you can either follow it for leave." I had no other choice but reluctantly followed. Still there was no apology or empathy given the highly confusing and strenuous situation esp for a pregnant woman. They didn't offer to reschedule and just said "you can go elsewhere where the policy is different and allow more than 1 visitor or kids" This is for: 1625 Stockton Blvd. Suite 205 Sacramento, CA 95816

I want to emphasize I went for something different than most people as many are already pregnant etc. I am also not downplaying anyone's experience or how they felt. I'm simply writing about mine. She was super informative and kind to me. Her demeanor seemed more stern and strict, but I've lived more than 4 counties over the last 4 years in California and honestly, I've met doctors that are genuinely not genuine in their practice and genuinely don't care. Anyways, I had several questions and concerns. She explained in a professional manner and personally what her opinion was if she was me. There was no personal bias whatsoever. She weighed my options and gave me a couple minutes to actually decide. She talked me through the removal which was quick and painless. Overall great experience. Also, I genuinely mean almost all the staff said bye to me and had beautiful smiles lol. None of us know what happens behind anyone's closed doors, maybe they just caught certain people on their bad days; take everything with a grain of salt. I spent my appointment crying and begging for the medical leave paperwork (Alight/FMLA) that I need to protect my job. My employer cannot accommodate my pain, and I am at risk of losing my livelihood. The NP (Christine) flatly refused to help, hiding behind an "office policy" that says they don't sign paperwork until 36 weeks. Not only is this policy a violation of California PDL law, but what she did next was even worse: She falsified my medical record. In my visit notes, she wrote that I "did not desire" a work note. This is a complete lie. I begged for it, and I even went back to the front desk after the appointment to ask a second time, only to be brushed off again. She also ignored my depression screening score of 19 (Severe) and wrote that I had a "normal mood" while I was sitting right in front of her sobbing. If you want a provider who follows the law and documents the truth, stay far away from this office. I had to go to Urgent Care immediately after just to get tests and blood pressure check which was raised because of this office idk if this office was too "busy" or "lazy" to handle correctly.
