I am recovering from tendon transfer surgery and it has been a long, difficult process both mentally and physically. At my first appointment, Dr. Kanchan listened to my concerns and my long-term goals and tailored my treatment plan specifically to address my personal needs. She is very clear, fun to talk to during our sessions, and always sends me home with plenty of exercises and clear explanations on how to do them, between appointments. This is such a relief because I am eager to get back to high impact activities like running, pickleball, hiking, and HIIT cycling as soon as possible. She is helping me strengthen my foot, ankle, and leg. She works on loosening the transferred tendon and the scar tissue surrounding the incision. She knows how and when to push me during appointments and when to give me a rest. She is even addressing residual knee pain that may have existed prior to surgery but also may have been exacerbated by the boot I wore for 11 weeks after surgery. If you are planning an upcoming surgery that will require physical therapy, I highly suggest you give them a call now to get on their calendar. It is a small office, which is another part of why I love this practice, so it will take some time to get an appointment. BUT, it is 100% WORTH THE WAIT!! Be patient, you will not regret it. Nancy in the front office is lovely, accommodating and will make sure you understand the scheduling and payment process. If you leave a message, she will return your call promptly. She will also send you reminders about upcoming appointments and let you know if they have openings available while you are waiting to start treatment. I came in for knee pain - past volleyball athlete, weight lifter, and previously hospitalized for about a month which caused my legs muscles to atrophy. My knee pain was due to patellofemoral syndrome. I am in my mid-20's. My therapist was Elise and she was amazing! Very personable, always made sure I was comfortable, always reviewed my daily activities with me, and very knowledgeable. I loved how she recognized that I was mentally and physically able to push myself more than originally thought so she always created new exercises or techniques for me to increase difficulty and to challenge me. I love that she would often check in with me to make sure nothing caused me extra pain. I have zero complaints with her therapy techniques or abilities. Also, the entire staff is very personable and very helpful. I loved everyone there and got to know them. AERO provides: personal therapist, aides, plenty of exercise equipment, easy scheduling, quiet atmosphere (not busy so you can focus on yourself), massage, cold laser therapy (Lasertouchone), icing, electric stimulation, towels, and personal rooms for each visit. I was very comfortable every single visit and I felt remarkable improvement! It took me about 4-5 months before I felt the most noticeable amount of improvement. I went for a total of 10 weeks and I would say I obtained about 80% pain relief and functional gain back from therapy. My sister highly recommended Dr. Dirk who performed shoulder surgery on her 10 years prior with great success. Many thanks to his office staff for squeezing me in during this ordeal. Dr. Dirk surprised me. After spending time moving my shoulder, he determined that I did not need an x-ray or MRI. He was certain I didn't need surgery. He asked me to follow his instructions carefully, and in 1 day, the pain will lesson, without taking anything strong than Advil and Tylenol. I thought he was crazy! I can't say enough good things about this facility and especially DPT Nimoli Malhotra and PT Aides, Diego and Robert. Dr. Malhotra prescribed the best exercises to simulate the job duties I perform at work. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable. She ensures the patient is comfortable and she has answered all questions. PT Aides Diego and Robert both know their job very well. Back in September my boyfriend had a bad mountain biking accident, ended up in a Tahoe ER, which…read moreresulted in him ended breaking his left humerus. Luckily he didn't end up having surgery up there, but he needed to get immediate care once he was back home. Thankfully Dr. Bolanos office was able to accommodate us with an appointment within the week following his accident. We went in for his appointment on a Thursday and Dr. Bolanos explained to us what options he had following the accident, but it was pretty clear surgery was the best option. We didn't think Dr. Bolanos would be able to do his surgery until about 2-3 weeks after the first initial appointment at least, but to our surprise he was able to fit him in his already very packed schedule the following Monday! Surgery went great, and post op instructions were very easy to follow. My boyfriend is still doing the very last of his physical therapy and has had an amazing recovery due to Dr. Bolanos entire team! From his very friendly and helpful administrative staff, to his PA Brittany, if it wasn't for all of you my boyfriend's humerus fracture would have been a much harder experience to deal with. I highly recommend Dr. Bolanos and his team! Thank you for all the amazing work that you do! If I'm ever in need of an orthopedic again I'll know exactly who to call without any hesitation.
