The week prior I had replaced the brake shoes myself and turned the lug nuts on with my fingers and had applied anti-seize to the lugs. I told the attendants this and all they said was whoever put them on cross threaded them. So, I figured they cross threaded them because I knew they were not cross-threaded! So nI went and purchased new lugs and nuts costing nearly $150 and went home. I pulled out my breaker bar and loosened the lugs easily. I tourqued them to 150 foot LBS the week prior. I am going out on a limb here, because we watched three guy's walking around and talking whilst pointing at the wheels... They just did not want to work and just wanted to ride out the clock since they close at 7PM. Bear in mind we called ahead to make sure they had time to do the job, and they said yes. They were cleaning the bays when we got there. They wasted our time and gas getting there. They wasted our time whilst we waited in our other car watching from outside while they he-hawed around. Then they accused me of ruining parts on my own car. I was a journeyman machinist for 30 years and they said I cross threaded my lugs. I would NEVER SHOP AT WALMART or get our car serviced there EVER with such incompetent or LAZY employees you choose. They lost a good deal of money and they were still on the clock, it is no wonder so many Walmart stores are closing nationwide !

I was on the other end, but somehow the employee sought fit to blame me for it. Payment was demanded at me for the broken souvenir as the employee told the supervisor that I bumped it off the shelf. I declined and responded with the truth, but my input was ignored. A call to the police was threatened against me. This was too far, but I believe it wasn't worth the police's trouble. I didn't have the money to pay for it. Someone else in the store had to pay for it on my behalf. (I assume they saw the incident.) As a customer being coerced into paying for something at the fault of an employee; I see this as fraudulent practice.

Of course they are closed. Too dark for them to be out here to be honest, extremely rural and dirt roads, deer everywhere. The last time I tried these folks, the same thing happened. Foolish of me, I know - but mistakes happen and I figured they got their act together. Second chances are usually a good thing. They aren't reliable. Be very careful. The only real time you can use them is if you see the truck in town. But why would you pay significantly inflated prices when you can go to the store in town? The point is not having to drive the 70 miles! I guess Hello Fresh is my best bet. They were reliable at least. Limited, but reliable.

Whatever. That all being the case, I ducked in to Bemidji Discount Liquor on the way back to our campsite. It was raining pretty hard, so while I had ice slowly melting in the Tahoe, I wasn't in a giant hurry to get back to camp, soggy as it was. Signage prohibiting entry of anyone under 21 didn't phase my 40 year old self, and somebody's underage kid opened the door for me. Stay classy, Bemidji. I found me 24 pack of Bud Light without much ado, but it took me a minute to realize, while hunting for a decent bottle of Pinot Noir for Mrs. Picante, that the wines were all organized alphabetically, not by varietal. I grabbed a decent one, and headed for the register. Good prices, nice folks. Incidentally, if you're looking for tobacco... That's a third stop on your way back to camp or home in Minnesota. Lucky for you, there's a smoke shop next door to the west and a gas station next door to the east.... Because selling food, drinks, and smokes under the same roof is so damned California after all.

When asked for ID at the counter I presented mine (1987) and my sister presented her passport. They refused the passport and made her go back to the hotel to get her ID.. My sister is 35 years old. The women working here are rude as hell.. I'm Stuck at the counter waiting because they won't sell me the alcohol until she shows ID. Pretty pathetic. If I didn't have dinner reservations for 7:30 I wouldn't even buy here.
