Hubby and I decided to stay here for a night. We just wanted to try the pool on a hot summer day. Today we can't plan anything far ahead due to the unpredictable weather. One day is hot, the next day rain, and after that, lightning and thunder. We stayed one night and used the pool for two days. The front desk staffers were friendly. We had Francisco welcome and check us in, and Patrick handled our checkout. I asked for a late checkout and was able to extend it. So we could swim more. So thankful! We had a room on the ground floor near the pool. The room was clean, quite big, with a high bed. It was a good room, no issue. Breakfast and lunch were served at the restaurant by the lobby called Bistro 46. We had a good and peaceful stay here.

Nice location off the LIE. The location host events. Rooms are updated. Lobby however is cols. They need to turn up the heat a bit. It was freeezing.freezing. The parking lot is nice as well. Bathrooms are clean. Overall great spot.

Broken lock

Typically if I have a bad experience somewhere, I refrain from leaving a review - this warrants an exception. To corroborate another recent review, there are cockroaches in the room. Additionally, there is mold and dust everywhere, and the lock on the door is busted. The cherry on top - the police had to be called on the room next door due to a domestic disturbance. Despite being informed by the front desk that they would be escorted from the property, they were allowed to stay. This is after attempting to break into a room, screaming profanity in the hallway, and from what was overheard (thin walls), a physical altercation between the two. I was extremely limited on options in the area due to a last-minute work trip. If you value safety and cleanliness, avoid at all costs.

This hotel is much more like a motel than it is a hotel. I stayed here for work and I was not a fan. Driving up to the hotel, it was in a very isolated and almost creepy location. Upon entering, I was shocked by how nice the lobby was. The outside of the hotel looked sort of run down so I was expecting the inside to be as well. I was warmly greeted by the staff as they checked me into my room. I arrived earlier than Check-In and they were happy to find me a room that was ready. It took me quite a while to find my room as they have a very off layout. The rooms were OK - they weren't completely outdated. The worst part was the fact that there were no direct sunlight windows. None of the rooms in this hotel have windows to the outside. I am big on natural light so this was a big downer for me. The rooms were very noisy (the AC unit was SO loud) and I could hear people in the room next to me as well as in the hallway all night. I guess you get what you pay for!

Window sill - hallway

All the negative reviews you have read are spot on !! As soon as we arrived & saw that the bathroom sink had apparently backed up at some point after it had been 'cleaned' (see photo) I knew this was going to be an awful stay. Of course we changed rooms. The room appeared updated but had a funk stale smell. The only reason I'm being generous with a 1 star rating is because bedding & linens appeared clean & tub was clean as well. The sink in the 2nd room was equally as bad as the first - it was clean but the water drained sooo slowly that you were spitting your toothpaste into a inches of water as it ever so slowly drained out.... This place reminded me of a hospital setting. The rooms had windows however they were not to the outside they were looking into hallways. As you would imagine a hospital would be. The floors were oddly slanted. The HVAC system was so loud that you could barely sleep. And the compressor of the fridge cycled all night. The gap in the door frame was enough that you could see daylight all around it. You could hear all the foot traffic coming down the halls as well as the traffic in the parking lot all night as well. The window in the hall was covered in bugs (inside) We pointed it out to the maintenance guy and he casually said oh they're not termites, those windows are metal ... we chuckled & walked away. When we walked back past the same window there was an obvious smell of 'Raid' & dead bugs were all over the windowsill. (See photos) at least he could have cleaned up the dead remains. We tolerated the entire experience since we were only getting dressed & 'sleeping' there. I could go on & on .....

Circa 1970's Thermo in our room.

This Holiday Inn is more Motelish than Hotelish. We stayed here to go to a cemetery. It's a couple of stories tall with faux indoor corridors. We got a substantial deal on an internet website because it was low season, but had we paid full rack, you would have had one unhappy David on your hands. Staff is fine, very accommodating. There is No Indoor Pool or Spa. Our King rooms was tight, and in the back of the building, our window looked out onto an interior corridor with dim lighting where people pass. Dim enough that we wanted to move into and out of the room quickly in case someone may be lurking... The thermostat was a 1970's non-digital slider. The type that you can't tell what the room temperature currently is, nor can you accurately set the temp what you want it to be. It's trial and error and we just left it off. The room and bed were cozy comfortable. This Holiday Inn's biggest selling point is it's location, location, location...It is right off the LIE and Northern State. It's close to all the Pinelawn Cemeteries as well as tons of businesses. We would probably not choose to stay here again, but if there was another spectacular deal--sure. It's not bad for a night.

You cleaned up nicely since the last time I saw you. I like what they did the the remodel. Lobby looks updated and the freeway sign is fixed. What once was Monroe's Supper Club is now Bistro 46. Rooms are cozy and there's still free wi-fi. Well done, Holiday Inn.

My friend had her wedding this past Thursday; we stayed here from Wednesday to Friday morning. The food was good, the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and we used the hospitality room to get ready, which was roomy. The staff was also lovely. This place was a good stay.

We came in for a wedding and stayed for 5 nights. Our stay was overall comfortable, but there are…read moresome things that could be improved. We had taken a red eye and called to see if early check in was available. It was over a holiday weekend so the area was busy to begin with. The front desk person we spoke to on the phone was not very friendly and quick to say no. Not a big deal, but was something we noted. During check in, it was the same person and she seemed very distracted. She had down that I was only staying one night, but we had booked five. She was able correct her mistake shortly, but she did not look up at me once! Aside from the unwelcoming energy and mix up on reservations, the check in process was easy. The room itself was spacious. Bed was comforable. The kitchen had all of the necessary kitchenware to make do for a few days. They left one dishwasher packet. The trash cans were tiny for a full size kitchen. The fridge was SO loud, but it did eventually quiet down. We were able to control the temp of the room and it was comfortable during our stay. Cleanliness was ok. I wish I took pictures but there were stains on the walls and the air was a bit musty. The toilet and plumbing had issues. It got clogged several times (I swear it was not a us problem lol) while we were there and each time, someone had to come unclog it or during after hours, we had to unclog it ourselves. It seems they only had one plunger for the whole hotel! We started using the lobby bathroom because it was such an issue. They offer a gym which was clean with a great variety of working equipment. We did not use the pool area, but it was a good size. The hot tub, unfortunately, looked unclean with a large amount of foam. We did not bother because of that. On the morning of check out (around 9AM), we had housekeeping knock on our door two seperate occasions (But within 15 min of each other) to come in and clean. I told them that we would be checking out today and do not need cleaning until after we leave. They asked me what time, so I told them closer to check out time. All morning long, all I could hear was housekeeping knocking on people's doors. It was very bizarre. One big highlight was the breakfast buffet. Having a complimentary hot breakfast with decent and varied options was lovely. They switched things up at the egg/meats bar, but also had cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles, baked goods on the daily. A good amount of coughing kids, so bring hand sani and wipes to keep yourself healthy! Overall, a good central location to where we needed to be. Parking was ample. The space was decently comfortable with some room for improvement on the overall experience We loved having a kitchen but did not use it much this trip. I would stay again.

0/0 Stars!! If zero…read morestars were possible, that would be the appropriate rating. We were wrongfully charged nearly $300 in "cleaning fees" for a room that was left in clean condition. The only thing left behind were a few paper rose petals on the floor -- no damage, no stains, no excessive mess beyond what standard housekeeping manages daily. In fact, we brought our own trash bags, consolidated all garbage, washed dishes, unloaded dishwasher, and ensured everything was left respectfully. We have worked in hospitality for years prior to becoming hardworking nurses and healthcare professionals -- we know what a trashed room looks like, and this was nowhere close. We even left a tip for housekeeping as a gesture of appreciation. When we called to respectfully question the charge, instead of transparency or evidence, we were met with a series of serious and completely unfounded accusations seemingly used to justify the fee. We were accused of: * Burning the carpet with a wax candle * Smoking in the room * Generating noise complaints There was not a single wax candle in the room. We intentionally spent over $100 on battery-operated candles specifically to avoid fire hazards or damage concerns. The allegation that we burned carpet with wax is entirely fabricated. We were also accused of smoking. None of us smoke -- several of us are asthmatic. There wasn't even a lighter present. The idea that we smoked in the room without any odor, residue, or evidence is not only false, it's offensive. As for "noise complaints," we never received a single phone call, knock, or visit from security during our stay. Hotels notify guests immediately if there is a disturbance. That never happened. If complaints truly existed, why were we never informed at the time? We are healthcare professionals who took one evening to celebrate sisterhood and enjoy a simple self-care night. Instead, we were met afterward with baseless accusations and an excessive charge that feels far more like a money grab than legitimate policy enforcement. False claims, lack of evidence, and surprise post-stay charges are unacceptable. Proceed with caution. Take photos before checkout. Document everything. We will absolutely be disputing this charge.

The people here - the staff are indeed the most important asset and they are golden, they are solid and consistent. Hailey - Manager Extraordinaire- amazing, professional, caring, proactive, so very patient, a genuine person, kind and very aware. She sets the bar for excellent natural customer service. The review is for a day visit. We booked a Tuesday house tour. It lasted for an hour and 15 minutes. The tour guide showed us the special rooms of the house. I loved the gesture of showing us the Castle's most favorite hotel room ... the bridal suite. The view from this room is magnificent. We do our own tour of the garden after lunch. We took our time exploring and enjoyed taking photos. We had a reservation after the tour at its restaurant. The management gave us a10% discount for taking the tour. I made a separate review for its restaurant. The inside of the mansion is meticulously decorated classy. I am impressed how they maintained the house especially their hotel rooms. I can't imagine how magnificent weddings celebrations are being held here. This place is a good venue choice... the huge dining hall and its beautiful ballroom stand out. It is a recommended place to be.

One of the things about it past the fact that it dwarfs Downton Abbey (for this who don't know that is the name of an estate) and is literally like stepping back in time into absolute Sumptuousness and luxury was this feeling of safety we felt. I did not expect it- I read that it is haunted and being that it is COLOSSAL in size, I expected to feel uneasy or creeped out a bit. I did not however; In fact I felt oddly welcomed. We stayed in the dead of winter on a weekday off season when no events or even many people stayed. I can say that I am pretty sure we were completely alone in the wing we were in and not once did I feel nervous or vulnerable. I read that Otto Kahn the original owner who built it, was scared of fire. The entire place was built to be fireproof with stone and concrete. I loved that and it made me even more comfortable. The place feels magic and protective! Such a rarity. You can feel the love put into this place. The halls that lead to the room in this wing were ...unusual. Weird murals of the sound of music. I get it. It was whimsey at the time it was done in I think maybe the 1980s. no big deal. Spotlessly clean and well lit. Was a little shining-esq...you know...the overlook. Still had zero chills or jeebies. The room we stayed in was basic- must have been redone in the late 80s or maybe early 90s. It was a bit dated with a lot of beige and travertine tiles, yellow gold fixtures etc. (Next time I will spring for a room that fits the rest of this place for the full experience) Nevertheless It was well enough to have served its purpose but I will say this; IT WAS IMMACULATE. Sterile. I am not sure how it could be this outdated but also be as fresh and polished as the day it was done. It smelled fresh and shined and was very well appointed right down to luxurious white Terry robes. The rugs were clean and fresh. The giant heavy gaudy sleigh bed was decked with luxe creamy sheets and was so comfortable. I am a design snob, I choose place based on this factor; Between the downstairs Lavishness, and the clean and details in the room- I was more than satisfied. We meandered around from humongous ball room to room. woodwork and stone and antiquities ....views... I feel like we didn't even cover a fraction and we were blown away. I am posting some pictures. If I am being honest, I felt like royalty staying here for a simple staycation for the night. I could go one and on. we plan to come back and stay in the Gatsby or carnegie suite in the spring. I feel like the price is reasonable here for a basic room comparable to most hotels that far outdoes any silly Hilton or Hampton inn. Why would anyone stay anywhere else when this is here? All in all we had a fantastic stay and slept like logs. I wanted to go back as soon as we left- We will be back
