Review from my stay on 9/12/13: I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The bed was very comfy and I was able to get a really good night's sleep, which is not very often! The room itself was very spacious and modern looking, also very clean. I thought it was quite beautiful to be a hotel room. The living area was separate from the bedroom area, each having their own TV. Breakfast was great with lots of choices.

The room was clean and spacious which made it easy to relax after a long day of traveling. The bed was especially comfortable, and I appreciated how quiet the hotel was even being close to the highway. It's definitely a great stop if you're traveling and need a place to unwind. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. Check-in was smooth, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt modern and well-kept. Breakfast was available, which was convenient, though the selection could be a little better depending on your expectations. Still, it was nice to have that option before heading out. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay in Lumberton. I would definitely consider staying here again.

I was given a room on the top floor and even given a recommendation for dinner. When I arrived, there was a baby shower in the lobby, and possibly a family reunion. My room was large and almost clean. There were two white substances on the counter. It didn't photograph so well in the light, but one I took without the light on. It appeared to be missed in cleaning the counter. The WIFI was great, and there was a good selection of television stations. I could hear some of the traffic from the highway, so I adjusted the fan to stay on to buffer it. But it wasn't an issue I first thought it would be. The hotel had a pool and a small fitness room. Breakfast was great. When I got there, the lobby was full of high school or college students heading to a robotics competition. It was hard to find a seat. But waffles, breads, cereals, oatmeal, as well as hot foods were offered. I believe there were yogurts and some fruit as well. The breakfast area was well attended to, and she kept the selections stocked. I am planning a return here in May and hope for another great stay.

Parking was roomy, no fees for parking, and pretty close to the main entrance. Breakfast buffet was your typical assortment {which changes daily} of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, home fries, etc., and also cereals, juices, milks, coffees, condiments, etc. It was pretty good for free! The Dizzy's restaurant had a very limited menu of burgers, wings, tenders, fries, a few veggies, etc. It also has a bar area with tv's. The burgers were large and pretty good w/ excellent french fries. Our waitress spoke VERY softly. There isn't much in Cheraw that we saw, a couple antique shops, stores, and a rundown worn out City. We also didn't see many restaurants, and not to be negative but why is there even a hotel in Cheraw? It is not off a major highway, and not much around this area to see and do. A few other areas around Cheraw in a 3 mile radius appear to be boarded up, closed, and in poor condition. Cheraw appears to be an old town.

Hot choices limited to sausage patty, bacon, biscuit, or grits--no scrambled eggs, no hash browns. Then to add insult to injury they hit us with a $6/night "parking fee." This is sheer robbery. I refuse to return to a place that rips me off.

Free wifi worked well, and the TV was nicely sized with a good variety of channels. The free breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs, potatoes, and sausage as the hot and a good variety of other foods. The buffet area was neat and clean with a pleasant employee working to keep it that way. Only advice I will give is that the rooms on the back side are beside the parking lot of the local Walmart, and you will hear vehicle traffic.

There were some good points and some bad points. This was my first time staying at this BW in Lumberton while traveling. Checking in was easy. The staff, especially London was very very nice and welcoming. She gave us water bottles upon checkin. There's a small lobby and a breakfast area with seating. It looked a bit weathered and could use some updating. For the free breakfast I was surprised they didn't have hot grits and sausage gravy on their breakfast bar. Every Best Western I've ever stayed at in the south has had this on their breakfast bar including a machine where you can pick the type of coffee you want like a latte, a mocha latte, regular coffee, espresso, etc.. This hotel is an outdoor style hotel with two floors. For some reason their suits are on the second floor so if you are traveling with large luggage, you have to drag it up a flight of stairs. There are no elevators.( I wish I knew this ahead of time.) The walls are also somewhat thin. You can hear the people next door. Once in the room, it was very nice. I upgraded for $9 extra to a suite. The suite had a comfortable king bed, sitting area, desk and chair, refrigerator and microwave, 2 TV's that only had very limited shows. Ironing board, and iron, and blow dryer. They didn't have Netflix, or any of the streaming services I'm used to when traveling. It was mostly local stations. The Lumberton BW is situated right across from a Walmart. ( great for truckers.) Directly across the street is a Chick-fil-A and other restaurants. My biggest complaint is the water pressure was very low in the shower and sink it made it hard to rinse off. My other issue which I do not like is this BW uses large bottles of shampoo, body wash,, conditioner with pumps on the wall. ( that means everyone's hands are on those bottles and pumps instead of having individual samples, sealed and placed daily.I wound up getting Covid and the flu together from using these according to my doctor. Everyone that I was near not one person has ever had Covid. Out front on the corner of the property directly in front by the driveway were several homeless people hanging out. Since you walk directly across to get food, it's not the right place for these people. I felt very uneasy because it was nighttime. Checkout was easy. I did bring up several of these issues to the front desk and they were writing it down. This hotel also allows dogs and cats so if you are allergic check directly with the hotel. I think if this hotel could improve on the things I mentioned, it would get higher rating.

I've stayed in Ritz that bored me compared to this opulent experience at the Rosewood Manor. My husband and I stumbled across Rosewood while looking for a way to celebrate our anniversary and set off some fireworks in our relationship. Thank goodness we found Gary. Driving up to a dimly lit paradise at sunset, greeted by a glass of wine and a wonderful ray of sunshine, Donna, was a good start. We were exhausted and hadn't been having a good week. The mood changed instantly when arriving. The atmosphere is flawless. You feel at home, except better. The house is breathtaking. Gary, the owner, is a brilliant and accommodating host. His attention to detail pulls together the whole experience. Not only is it a remarkable home to begin with, but the way it has been dressed is the key. You can have a beautiful home and a lot of money...and still have no taste. Gary has impeccable taste. Now when it comes to his precious antiques, an outstanding collection of marvelous artwork and to top it all off, he's a gourmet chef... it's safe to say he knows what he's doing. He's also a walking encyclopedia. Our stay was extended due to car trouble. Thank you, Jesus. Gary continued to accommodate us by letting us stay two more unexpected nights, and helped us find a mechanic. He cooked multiple breathtaking meals, that we are still craving. He actually changed breakfast for us in our home. Guests now ask us where we got all these amazing ideas. We of course say "Gary." After a day of great conversation, and lounging by the pool, we would go to sleep in the most comfortable bed my husband and I have ever slept in. Every night we would say "something has got to happen... it can't all be perfect." The following evening Gary and Donna made us an exquisite anniversary dinner. Finally, I said "it's all perfect." Around every corner is a surprise, and a pleasant one at that. There's always something new to learn or a story to be heard. My family and I are already planning a summer trip to go visit Dr. Chef and Miss Donna. While I did take several photos, they aren't photos I would post. You need to go see for yourself how truly magnetic and affluent a weekend away can be. I would rather drive hours out of my way to stay here, than at any hotel. On a scale of one to ten, Rosewood Manor is a strong one billion.
