We started with their meatballs. The recipe is the owner's Nonna's recipe. So light and flavorful. Not the hard golf ball you find at a lot of places. The sauce was incredible. I told Mike I could eat an order of those over polenta for my entree! The bread and butter served before dinner is really good. A delicious butter with a hint of salt that complements the ciabatta that has a perfect pull to it. The chocolate martinis are on the dessert menu but don't sleep on starting your meal with one. You won't be disappointed! Our aunt and uncle had the chicken Vincent. Nice portion. 2 lightly floured and panned chicken breasts atop fettuccini tossed in a cream sauce. Seasoned wonderfully. The pasta can be hard to manage on a fork. Our preference would be penne just for the ease of eating it but no complaints on the flavor, presentation or portion side. Mike had a ribeye. Pittsburg, MR. Hard to get MR on a Pittsburg ribeye but it had a perfect char and flavor. Was closer to M-MW but again, excellent flavor. Don't look at the picture and say that's burned, google Pittsburg steak before you think that. The whipped red potatoes are heaven. I had the fried shrimp. Oh. My. Stars. Those fresh gulf shrimp tasted incredible. The best shrimp I've had in so long that I can't remember. I ate Mike's potatoes and he ate my fries. He said he wished the fries were a little crispier but loved the flavor. The tartar sauce. I could drink it. The best. Reminded me of the old Ralph and Kacoos. Freshly made in house. Bursting with all of the flavors. We love the feel of the restaurant. The tables are not too close together. The music was a bit loud when we got there and since 2 of us have hearing aids it made it double hard to hear each other but after the first couple of songs it seemed to go down a notch. We loved their music choices. For dessert we had the brownie. A thick, deep chocolate that was rich and decadent. Not cakey at all. Ala mode took to the next level. The bread pudding was melt in your mouth delicious. The owner is an absolute delight. We can't wait to go back so Mike can get the crawfish enchilada and I'm getting the shrimp again! Also, they have a gorgeous venue for special occasions connected to the restaurant. Can't wait to get back down there! (Literally, 2 barrels full) Weeds were grown up around the stalls and in the arena catch pens. (beer bottle thrown near the manure Ben) The grass was freshly cut, though. The people running the place did not greet us in the two days that we were there. The souvenir store was never opened. It was July 4th weekend and there was only 3 OTHER TRAILERS there on that big beautiful place. It's not the same since the new caretakers have taken over last year. You had to book way in advance just to secure a spot, no one is even there, now. We the ppl helped pay for this place with many stays and now we none feel welcome, anymore. It's an Empty facility now! Caretakers were rude and it seemed we were a burden to be there on the one occasion of speaking with them. We had major issues with our plug hookups last October, causing my beautiful dog to get BADLY electrocuted, when they had just taken over. (Large male collie and he cried out and loud) No one was accommodating. It caused my husband to have to replace the converter in our 39' Lakota along with microwave. To say "disappointed" is an understatement. We have supported the owner for all of these years. We actually, reached out to him through messenger. He said he would be calling me back concerning our experience but never reached out. It's been 3 weeks now. Unfortunately, the running of BCR has changed drastically and it's very sad. This place was a fun place for our family and children to relax and have fun. To say we miss the other caretakers is an understatement..! Solid Hampton Inn experience, no suite for me I guess. Tehehe…read more I wasn't expecting much so the goodness that ensued was extremely welcomed. Stopped on a whim just because I was tired of driving. McComb MS. People actually live here. Check in was fast and easy. Dude did grill me like a cop about where I was headed and where I had been. At first I was annoyed, then I realized he was just being nice. Good kid. His name is Miguel I believe. I know a lot about that dude now, but if you meet him, I'm sure he will tell you too. This place had the most comfortable bed outside of my own that I have slept in this year. Pillows were glorious too! Room was nice and comfy. AC was nice level sound wise. Towels, linens, room all clean no nasties hiding that I found. All in all good job room wise. Breakfast was just almost edible. Classic booosheet hotel breakfast. Blah. Blah. Blah. My husband and I were visiting family in the area and stayed here Christmas night. The staff was…read moreincredibly friendly, and our room was spotless. The only noise we heard was from the freeway (it was minimal), and the hotel is located in a prime area - several restaurants and things to do are within minutes. My cousin mentioned the hotel allowed smoking since one of her friends loved to smoke in her room, but I can assure you that was a LONG time ago. I was initially concerned since my husband is allergic. The entire hotel is nonsmoking, and I couldn't pick up on any hint of cigarette smoke (I have a very sensitive nose). We got a solid night's sleep and woke up extremely refreshed (Hampton beds are the BEST). Our room was quite spacious, and we didn't feel crammed at all (it was the king sofa bed studio suite). My parents stayed down the hall from us and enjoyed their experience as well. They also commented on how nice and quiet the hotel was, and we all agreed we will definitely be back next time we're in to visit family.

Redneck Riviera. That's the best way to describe this place. The pool looks like it was made with…read morequikrete. Large areas of concrete are broken up in the water. There are anchor bolts sticking out of the walls and bottom of the pool. Three of our five person group cut their feet on the broken rough patches of concrete. There is a dirt line all the way around the inside. Its gross. The camping spots are all gravel. It's rained two afternoons and our sites were flooded. The power went out two of three days but was restored quickly. There are kids (like young kids) and adults drinking and driving golf carts and side by sides FAST and irresponsibly. Someone is going to get hurt. Rules are not enforced so there are people riding and playing loud music at all hours of the night. Don't expect to get anywhere in a vehicle. People park in the roads wherever they want with campers, trucks, trailers, golf carts, etc. There is NOTHING to do nearby. The closest grocery store is 20 min away. The only positive of our stay was the Fourth of July fireworks show. It lasted 25 minutes. I bumped up one star for that. We will not be back here.

We were there through the week on off season. Nothing is open through the week. No camp store. No restaurant. They did blow up the jumping pillows. On our second day we finally flagged down an employee that gave up the corn hole bags and horseshoes to use. (All those including paddles for kayaks are locked up in camp store that isn't open until Friday ). The animals were nice. It was rutting season though so they asked you don't pet the deer. Fishing was good. Caught some small ones. Did see others catch bigger. Lake was very pretty. Peaceful through the week. There were only four of us maybe lol. Weekends are a different story. Very busy. Do need to enforce some speed limits on Golf carts and a few cars too. Most part was good. There's the river just through the gate where the boat ramp is. (I would never back a boat down that ramp btw it's sketchy steep) That area is a good little swimming spot since the pool and tubing and pretty much all of it shuts down last week of September. Staff was nice.
