I've lodged here twice on business and both times I was met with friendly and welcoming staff, especially Ms. Valerie.
While I am not from or familiar with the Houston area, I found the location to be, ummm, interesting. I mean, for one, they are located right off the interstate and depending on what side of the hotel you're on, you will hear the traffic....not too bad if you're a hard sleeper. There are places to eat nearby but not a lot of outdoor activities to do within the vicinity. I like walking and it is not a walkable venue or one for many leisurely activities. They do have a nice gym, meeting room and pool though.
So, the breakfast has your standard powdered eggs, both scrambled and "omelette" style, mystery meat turkey sausage patties, bacon, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal with walnuts, cranberries and brown sugar on the side, mini pancake maker, delicious warm cinnamon rolls (so I've heard), cereals, fruits, pastries and toast. There's a juice machine with OJ, cranberry and apple juices, fruit infused and still water is also available. I found that to be a very nice gesture for guests. The coffee is deeee-licious....it's hot, fresh and just strong enough for me (decaf available too) and the kitchen staff was very nice.
The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was contemporary and clean, the bed and pillows were cozy and snuggly and overall I enjoyed my stay. I'd just remind the housekeepers to check the soaps and Kleenex in the bathroom, mine were out. There is a laundry room, $1 to wash and $1 to dry....used to be free!
Oh, so they do have a little mini market pantry/grab n' go spot with a variety of ice creams, chips, soda, water, cookies, candies and even OTC meds. Ask for a list of delivery restaurants, there are quite a few places that deliver here.
Plenty of parking and a cemetery across the street if visiting graveyards is your thing lol. I would stay again and I highly recommend, even with all my fun shade lol. read more
