I had emailed them 2 times just to get some info about an older Volvo motor and possibilities regarding it's issue. They never responded so I called them yesterday, and after they found the 2nd email, they answered the questions. So I said please respond to the email. Then today I got a call from a Brandon, while he told me of the possibilities on the phone, he would not put anything in writing, i.e. email response, not even that there are a lack of parts for this motor. I've had good luck dealing with these guys in the past, but I don't know about this Brandon guy and his boss. Finally, upset I did call a 3rd time after being hung up by him twice, and he told me after talking to his boss that they would pass on looking at it, even though they work on Volvo boat motors. Very surprised and disappointed with these guys. Honestly, I hate posting negative reviews and prefer to post 5 stars as I often do for people, but I don't know how anybody can say West Coast Marine Services didn't earn this 1 star! Update: I just got off the phone with Volvo Penta

The entire boat season passed and no dingy, I purchased Bull Frog since it seemed fruitless. 2nd season, he advised I am storing your dingy for 100.00 per month. I asked him to drop it at my dock since I don't live there and my wife sustained a critical injury to her leg. He said no! I don't have a way to get the Dingy to Blane. I sent him the title and bill of sale and I paid for all repairs $ 460.00. After this ordeal his true colors came through.$ 950.00 to change rings on two Raycor filters. It was negotiated out and my trust of B. H. Is gone. When it's over it's over. He asked me to take my remarks down but I get something is not right here. Look below for my other review. We ran this boat at least two dozen times last summer/fall, in both the lake and the ocean. The only issue the boat had was needing new batteries. My boyfriend asked Russ to check the starter and give the boat a tune up, oil change, etc. Russ gets in touch with my boyfriend saying the starter is fine, but there's no alternator system on the boat we have, which means the batteries aren't getting charged when the boat is running. He says he can install a stator assy, and of course tune up the boat. He had our boat for a total of four weeks. When it was time to pick up our boat, our only availability to do so was in the evening. We felt a bit rushed, as he made it clear he was staying after hours to accommodate us. When we got there, we asked him to show us what all he did. He said "most people just pay me and leave." He did not have the boat hooked up a to a hose or start it for us, and in hindsight, that was a huge mistake (on our part) not to ask him to do that. He claimed he started the boat "half a dozen times, no problem." He showed us what he fixed, gave us an old part back, and happily collected nearly $1,300 from my boyfriend. We tried starting the boat multiple times over the next few days, with no luck. We contacted Russ, asking him if he had any ideas why the boat wouldn't start. He gave a few smart-a** answers, like "hook the boat up to a hose," "use starter fluid," and my personal favorite, "turn your kill switch on." Obviously we were doing those things, because we know how to run a boat. Finally he says, "I don't know, it must be operator error." We asked him if we can bring the boat by, so he can start it and show us exactly how he's starting it, since he wanted to claim operator error, and at that point he stopped returning our messages. We brought the boat to someone else, and that's the reason why I'm leaving this review. New boat mechanic insisted we bring the boat back to Russ and tell him we want him to start it, because from what the new mechanic can tell all Russ did is spray paint. New boat mechanic says that no tune up was done, that he can tell. The oil filter was put on incorrectly, among several other things. Here's the kicker, they took the starter off and said it was useless, and that there's no way he started the boat once, let alone half a dozen times with the starter in the condition it was in. New boat mechanic ordered a new starter, and the now boat starts up. What a surprise, all it needed was a starter and tune up in the first place!! Save yourself some money and go elsewhere! We have sadly gone the entire summer without a boat to enjoy, and now have to pay for someone to double-check this guy's work. We are honest, hardworking people, and I guess we just expect others to be the same.

We're ready for us as scheduled with the slings, timely in how their professional staff came to the dock with PFDs to take over the lines and vessels to guide into the slings. No pushing on rails or stupid moves. The process went pretty quick considering the load and when it was blocked very quick and polite to ask about pressure washing and zincs. Of course I had them clean it as it was not bad but worthy. They gave that to the youngest and least experienced tech which is how pressure washing goes. I have better equipment for my business and they had little knowledge of the pressure washing gear. I could have maybe done a better job but I'm extremely picky and have forty years of experience with a pressure washer. It was certainly done standard to the marine industry. If it were a hull repaint and brokers, surveyor, and buyer were not there tapping their feet it would have been more thorough. The staff was kind, professional, and thorough and I would use them again if needed in this area. Not cheap but what is with a boat? I feel I got what I bargained for which is the most important thing as a consumer. Thanks Seaview North!
