I moved to this area 5 yrs ago and that is when I had to start dealing with this centre.
Let me be clear, I have always found the doctors and nursing staff at this centre to be very friendly, helpful and efficient in providing care solutions and I would happily recommend each of them in their medical capacity.
Unfortunately I cannot say the same for many of the front office staff / receptionists that they choose to employ as they appear (to me) to take the diametrically opposite approach. On occasion I have found them to be obstructive, difficult and un-necessarily blunt. Not qualities usually associated within the skill set of a member of a customer facing team.
Making it as difficult as possible to make an appointment is one game they seem to particularly enjoy! I rang at 9.01 this morning to be told that I should have rung at 8am, that I was far too late and that I should ring back at 1pm if I wanted to TRY for an appointment this afternoon. My first call was timed at 12.59 and my FIFTY FIRST call at 1.09pm resulted in a member of their "team" asking me if I thought it was really an emergency! I would probably feel less incensed if I had been asked this question by a triage nurse who had just conducted a phone appraisal of my concerns and not by someone who apparently only had that one question on her script! If I thought it was an emergency I would not have bothered my GP's "busy" staff, I would gone to an emergency centre. I was ringing my doctor for an appointment because I had felt decidedly unwell for 6 days and wanted his opinion.
