The prices are towards the high end for Darlington but I pay them gladly for the quality of the produce and the service. I admit that this place will not to be some peoples taste but If you appreciate fine ale or wines then you should give the place a try. The average age of the clientele maybe around 50 but I've never felt out of place and am always afforded friendly service. Also the food here is usually very nice. The traditional beef sandwich and chips is delicious. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is that on Friday and Saturday evening the place is packed like a sardine tin and can attract a few pretentious idiots that seem to have given the place a bit of a reputation. For this reason I only use 22s as my mid-week haunt.

We arrived a bit late so there were no tables left but we asked the quiz host where we could do the quiz and he kicked some girls off a table who weren't doing the quiz (I felt terrible about this!) After awkwardly sitting down we paid our £1 entry fee and headed to the bar. They had a really good selection of ales, I opted for Darlington Pale Ale to start with but we proceeded to work our way down the ales! A couple of my friends ordered Gins and Tonics which were served with out ice unless you asked which I feel is pretty poor! The quiz was really good, I'm a regular pub quizzer and they managed to make it a bit more interesting than your standard questions. Half way through the rounds we were told food was about to be served and to my delight my friends informed me with you pound entrance fee you get a plate off food. This week they were offering a huge plate of chicken curry and rice which was delicious! Overall a good experience, the food and selection of ales were a bonus for me! Other people have told me that the food menu is good too. So if you find yourself in the Darlington area check it out!

My parents like this place as it is frequented by older, locals drinking most of whom they know. And occasionaly they have entertainment on such as quizzes and race nights - see in pub for details. This place classes as cheap and cheerful - for a well priced okay pub meal and a pint you can't go wrong but its definately not glitzy and not what I would class as a family pub as there is a lot of locals drinking here rather than food service.

I often visit here for a break during shopping with my mum or friends as a cup of tea is only 79p. It's lovely too and comes with a biscuit. One of the selling points for the Isaac Wilson's is the menu, like most Weatherspoons they offer a great range of buy one get one free on the menu, This particular establishment is quite bit and set up like any other Weatherspoons, dark wooden chairs and tables with a lack of frills. I love eating here but it become very apparent that the same people sit in the same seats day after day, without being ageist it tends to be old men congregating and spending the afternoon drinking. Perhaps the biggest downfall of the Isaac Wilson's in my opinions is the fact that they don't play any music. Not really sort of pub but great if you want cheap food

Friendly attentive service. They serve Lavazza coffee which was also a plus. Had the mushroom eggs benedict. They do have the traditional if that is what you are looking for. It's the old court, from back when stockton had criminals, and it wasn't til 1998 when it opened that I realised what a terrific building it actually is. I'd been to the huge Moon under Water in Manchester, and this one is even better. Not as large, but still enormous, with a great huge open space in the middle where the old court was, then little cosy areas to the sides, with real coal fires, where the original offices were. Back then the cheapest pint was Fosters at 80p, and for six months or so we had the place to ourselves; it hadn't got onto other people's radar. It was back in the day when Wetherspoon's food was cheap but awful, and I had many a plate of horrible sausages and mash. Now it tends to be full to the gills with pre clubbers of an evening but is still nice and quiet during the day should you wish to get smashed in pleasant surroundings.

Despite this, the pub becomes busy, especially at weekends, although it tends to attract a certain crowd, mainly students. The bar spans the front of the entrance, with a large lounge area to the right and a smaller area to the right, behind which is a dedicated games room, with a pool table and a darts board. The games room is a brightly painted room reminiscent of a working mens club. The best thing about this pub is the drinks - they're among the cheapest priced in Durham and their range of cocktails is brilliant, which sounds unusual for such a pub, but this is its charm. I first tried many cocktails here - such as a Pink Kangaroo (vodka, advocaat, cider and blackcurrent) and a Fluffy Ducky (vodka, advocaat and peach schnapps). My 17-year-old self didn't find these drinks as disgusting as they now seem.
