It was the BEST - I miss it very much. It has been closed for many years - everything, all the stack of victorian iron beds, is gone.

If you're a bookworm and also happen to like antiques, this is the place for you…read more Quaint little store in the heart of Pawling. Small antique section with different jewelry and things. I was hoping they had a bigger antiques section with cooler things but it was pretty small for being an Antique Store. Usually you expect tables, dressers, large mirrors, that sort of thing. Still, they had a pretty cool selection of antique jewelry and such. Fun to look around either way. The book section is pretty sweet. There's a gift wrap and greeting card area as well. So if you want something different than hallmark they got cool little cards too. Definitely the type of place where you can come in and get a nice little gift/thought for someone. They even have book signing days so make sure to check that out as well.

Our seven dealers display a range of items that goes from the vintage to the ancient. Our pieces are genuine. We're not a shop filled with knockoff wannabes. You'll find our shop warm and welcoming. There's an upstairs with a coffee table, a bean bag chair and two chairs (and lots of artists wares for sale on the wall). There are a few tables outside, so waiting until it's warm enough or ordering To-Go would be my suggestion. I shared pictures of the beautiful breakfast plates we received. The food was delicious! The sausage I asked for in my Eggs Benny was delicious! They were clearly homemade sausage that had a nice rosemary flavor. My husband's breakfast star was the chef made ham steak slices, and the rosemary sourdough toast. Yes, I recommend the food here! We were rather disappointed by the temperament of the person we assumed is the owner... when asked if they would please lower the music a little, because I'm healing from a traumatic brain injury (and it was blasting commercials and music; it wasn't a pleasant music track or album), said with an attitude "Sorry I can't control where the speakers are", and from that point seemed a lot less friendly. Her attitude didn't ruin the taste of the food, but this was a special outing (my first in 3 years since falling on black ice), near Goodspeed Opera House. This is a touristy area and people that run breakfast/brunch spots are usually friendly and eager to help with small requests. Often interactions with the restaurant staff adds greatly to the experience. Her sour grapes and refusal to help me feel comfortable by lowering it a smidge (I was already wearing noise cancelling ear buds, just so you understand how loud it was and that she didn't turn it down even a tiny bit), made breakfast less nice. We won't be returning ~ there are so many restaurants struggling to survive after Covid, we'd rather spend our time and money there.

This is a truly special shop - remarkable goods - delightful staff - all very helpfulread more

They placed paintings, jewelry, and furniture from the collection into some of the top auction houses the art had previously been denied from. The pieces performed exceptionally and I'm grateful to have met Mr. Lipton! I give Appraisers Associates' name out regularly to friends and family. Thank you, Mary

I am very pleased that he has consistently achieved very satisfying and profitable results. He is the most professional and trustworthy person I have come across in the art and antiques world. He is very knowledgeable about the items but also about how the markets work and how to be successful with them. He is great at research & I benefit from his long standing relationships with other experts. He has sold literally hundreds of my items a broad range of antiques, paintings, jewelry, silver, unusual objects, you name it. I'm really glad that I've ended up with much greater prices for my things than if I had just gone to auction houses or dealers myself. Working with him gets my things the special attention that they would not get otherwise, and which gets me better sales! RecentIy I had a rug that an auction told me would bring around $500. He got $6000! He's the best. Highly recommend!
