Hate, hate, hate, hate this place!! Recently had a school project bought home by one of my sons to create The Great Fire Of London, we put cereal boxes together to make a street and then I went into Stockport to buy paints and materials from the pound shops which is usually where I buy things like this from. It was October so for some reason all the ailses which usually have arts and crafts were full of Christmas stock. Ok. The project had to be completed within a couple of days so I had little choice but to go into Hobby Craft, having being stung here before I was dubious but there was nothing else for it so in I went. I spend over an hour price matching and trying to find the right materials - obviously looked clueless yet no sales staff approached asking if I needed help. I ended up buying a bottle of pva glue, 4 sheets of felt - at 50p each - pack of small paint brushes, and 2 packs of little diamonte stickers which cost me the grand total of £18!!! I was shocked, £18 for a small bag of tat! When I think of how hard I have to work to earn that much it made me so angry, I will never ever go back to this place and urge others to do the same until the prices are at least reasonable! It is no incentive to sit down and create with your child when it costs you practically a days wage to do so. Terrible read more
