Last night's was a Joaquin Phoenix double bill, showing Walk The Line followed by Two Lovers. While we ended up skipping the first film and just having dinner, the price is still very reasonable. We shared a lovely bottle of wine outside on the terrace (had to sit on the wall though as all the tables were full) with amazing views of the river and Hammersmith Bridge. Back inside for dinner, which we shared: a large mezze platter and some mushroom bruschetta, both of which were delicious and just enough. The cinema itself is what every cinema should be: small and dark, with the seats on an incline so everyone can see. They showed the previews and ads WAY before the start time (PERFECT!!), even drew the curtains in between the previews and the film itself (DRAMATIC!!). Riverside has much more to offer than just a restaurant and a cinema... it also shows stand-up comedy, has a fully functioning tv studio where they film live shows, a theatre for live music, and art exhibitions. A wonderful space with quality at every turn.

Classical Indian music and dance lessons are available here. At the weekends for about two hours they have a reasonably priced cafe which I am yet to try and an art gallery space upstairs which I believe can be hired. South Asian language classes are also available. A few weeks later they invited me to join them for Indian Independence Day celebrations where the students performed and the Indian High Commissioner to London gave an excellent speech.

As soon as we walked in I knocked over a large vase with my shopping bag, causing broken glass and water to go all over. The staff could not have been any nicer about it. I felt very embarrassed and they did a great job of putting me at ease and trying to make me feel like it was no big deal. We ordered an arrangement and for roughly $36 got a gorgeous bouquet. The assortment of flowers available are incredible and the price was excellent.

The building is kinda gritty in a hipster way, but the facilities and set-up tools for the actual class were great. I found the tone Nam used with us was a teeny bit patronising ("Come on, I'm expecting you to work hard") but his heart was in the right place, and he was entertaining. There were 2 other groups there with us and it seemed everyone had a fun time, even when feeling a lil frustrated with our items not turning out exactly as expected! Was great value and would try other courses that they run :)

I signed up for a 5 session course into screen printing in January for £117, really good value for a life skill that you can apply to so many different elements of design - I'm thinking t-shirts! The space also holds exhibitions of student's work too, and the subject matter is always diverse and interesting. Great for meeting like-minded people too.

I was drawn in by her own practice which is more fine art than crafts. In my initial course which took place on four consecutive Saturdays (two half, two full days) I learned the basics of the main techniques and a bit of history. However, the greatest inspiration are the beautiful pieces on display around the workshop. And the materials which are provided as part of the course fees - any colour you'd wish for with materials ranging from glass and ceramic tiles to marble and broken china! Catherine does not just teach but also produces amazing work, both for sale from her studio or on a commission basis.

It provides an imposing prospect from the steps of the Royal Albert Hall opposite. For starters this has nothing to do with the College itself. It is about the "museum" inside, the…read morelay out and the staff. The college is located in the outside of the city of London. It is more like the suburbs of the city. It is in a very traditional looking part of town and is directly across from the Royal Albert Hall, which is very fitting. However, when you enter the college you are immediately in the college you are in the Lobby where there is a desk manager in attendance to keep the students of the campus safe from strangers (Stranger Danger!!!). However the guy who was working when I was there was very weird. He kept ignoring us and our questions. He mumbled so we couldn't really hear what he was saying. The directions located on the building to point us to the museum where they house very old instruments like pianos violins, and a wait for it.... harp guitar. Yes that's right citizens harp guitar. It was very interesting. The directions led us in circles and we accidentally ended up at the studios where the students go to re-string their instruments or practice. The museum was very small and very cold in order to preserve the instruments. The lady working there didn't really say much. She just sat there. My mom was really tired from walking around all day so we decided to take the elevator back up to the main floor to leave. So when we got in the elevator we assumed when we hit 1 it would take us back to the main floor in the lobby. No. It took us INSIDE a students studio room. As we were in the elevator were thinking "Oh wow this is some really nice elevator music. Very cool" when the doors opened all I saw was a bow moving back and forth, back and forth. I almost wanted to click the close door button and run away. The girl who was practicing turned around and gave us a very weird look but she never stopped playing. So good for her! But seriously who puts an elevator in a studio room?! I mean really? really?! that's just ridiculous. But if you're the girl whose room we accidentally burst into, SORRY! But again so weird your studio has an elevator in it. There are also free shows to watch the students perform but we didn't get a chance to see it because it's not every day that is available. Maybe if I saw this it would have heightened my experience here.
