We arrived, picked the designs we liked, and started right away. They give you a few tips, but you're pretty much on your own. We were advised it would take approx 2 hrs, but it took us closer to 3 hrs. You should plan a little extra time. Oh and you can buy a cup of Turkish coffee and they also give you a cup of pomegranate tea. I tried both and loved it! Once you're done painting, you can bake your plates in your oven for about 30 minutes and they're ready! They also have Turkish lamp making class and it looks also fun. We all booked online and were able to pick which lamp we wanted to design. I chose the swan lamp. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and once checked in we got situated at a table with a few other guests. I am in love with the space. First off, it's in a business area, and on a Sunday, there was no one else around. My GPS had difficulty finding the exact spot but once I had the suite number it was easy to find. When we walked in you could see how bright and airy this space is. Before the start of class, we had time to chit chat and walk around to get ideas for our lamps. Our teacher (I think her name was Oun?) was super sweet and walked us through each step. The first step is laying out your design. We were served Turkish coffee and a Turkish treat, (for an extra charge) during this step. During the step where we glue on the tiles we were served the pomegranate tea that came with the price of the class. At the end of our 2+ hours we were given instructions on how to make the cement to seal all the mosaic tiles in and once I do that, I will post photos of my finished product. My sister and I visited Color Me Mine at Watters Creek on September 13, 2026, specifically to paint…read morefairy doors after seeing a social media advertisement stating the doors were $15 each, with proceeds benefiting the Allen Arts Alliance. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from the moment we arrived. The employee who greeted us appeared unfamiliar with the promotion and had to ask another employee where the fairy doors were located and whether any were even available. After finding the doors, we sat down to plan our designs. A few minutes later, an employee brought over a pricing sheet showing the fairy doors were actually $30 each. I explained that the social media advertisement clearly stated they were $15 and even showed the ad. The employee consulted someone else, who came over and acknowledged that the ad did indeed say $15 and that another customer had already raised the same concern. Despite knowing the advertisement was inaccurate, we were told they could not honor the advertised price. What was especially frustrating is that if multiple customers had already pointed out the pricing discrepancy, the business apparently made no effort to correct the misleading information on social media. We ultimately decided to paint the doors anyway. However, when it came time to check out, the surprises continued. The total came to over $43 per door, and only then did we learn there was an additional $10 studio fee on top of the $30 door price. This fee was never mentioned during our discussion about pricing earlier, despite employees having multiple opportunities to explain the actual cost. The problems did not end there. Picking up our finished pieces was another fiasco. Apparently our projects had not been properly checked out or documented, resulting in both my sister and me receiving voicemails from the store trying to determine what had happened to our pieces. Overall, the entire experience felt disorganized and poorly managed. The employees seemed unfamiliar with their own promotions, pricing was inconsistent with the advertised information, fees were not clearly disclosed, and there were administrative issues even after the project was completed. If you're looking for a pottery-painting studio in the area, I would recommend Paint 'n Party or The Painted Teacup instead. In my experience, their staff are friendly, knowledgeable, upfront about pricing, and the price listed on an item is the price you actually pay, with no unpleasant surprises at checkout. I was excited to support a fundraiser for the Allen Arts Alliance, but unfortunately this experience left me with little interest in returning to Color Me Mine.
